Was completely perfect! Amazing flight, wonderful canyon, waterfalls an Na’Pali coastline! Brilliant service hosted by Danielle, Sheri and the best pilot and guide Brian!

On Wednesday, June 21, 2016 we went out on a Safari Helicopters afternoon ride with Brian. We did the Eco-​Adventure Tour — which included 45 minutes of riding high about Kauai and about 45 minutes on ground — or shall I say, what felt like, on top of the world! First, I have to say, one of my daughters was extremely hesitant of even going and the experience was expensive — IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! The entire Safari staff is so professional and friendly. Our trip started with an orientation and ride to the airport with Sharelle (sp?) — one of the funniest guys I have ever met!!! We then climbed into the helicopter with our pilot, Brian. He was amazing — you could sense, right from the beginning that he is a seasoned pilot — extremely capable. We took off and WOW — utterly amazing way to see Kauai! When we landed on top of the mountain we were greeted by Keith — a life-​long Kauai resident who showed us around and shared some of his plants and lore/​history with us! I did a TON of research on Helicopter companies and am so happy we went with Safari — in all the years they have been in business — they have a 100% safety record. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Kauai!

Wow! If there is one thing you should do while in Kauai, this is it.
Booking was quick and easy– we knew our flight time right from the start making it easy to plan for. When we arrived we were greeted and walked through a safety training– everyone was very helpful even before we got on the helicopter.
The pilot was great! She took us to nearly every area on the island and had plenty of facts and thoughts to share. We always knew exactly what we were looking at along with a bit of history.
The helicopter itself was great; windows from floor to ceiling giving us a great view of everything below, above and around us.
If I ever return to Kauai, this is definitely something I would do again!

I would give 6 stars if I could… This was an amazing experience. The office staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The pilot was also phenomenal. We wore headsets and the pilot (Brian) made a point to inform us about various waterfalls, and points of interest. I asked several questions, as I have lived on Kauai for about 6 months now, and wanted to increase my knowledge of the island. He intelligently answered every question I had and I now know quite a bit more about the Island that I did prior to my flight.
I have never been on a helicopter, and do have a fear of heights. The aircraft was very stable and felt extremely safe. Even though I was in a back middle seat, I was still able to see everything. I have hiked the Na Pali Coast to Kalalau beach, and that was amazing in itself, but to see the island from the air was breath taking.
We were lucky that it had rained pretty hard last night. There were sooo many waterfalls, and the skys were very clear. We did get a little rain, but what can you expect when you are flying around the wettest place on earth.
This is definitely a must do for tourists visiting the island, as well as locals.

Like many others, I did some research before choosing Safari Helicopter Tours. What got me was their perfect safety record and their price beat a lot of other competitors. My bf and I were offered front row seats for half the price at $ 25/​ea. as we were celebrating our anniversary — we declined. But that’s okay because we still got a good view. We were seated on the right side of the helicopter where you get to see more of the island, while the left side mostly got the ocean view. Their website said it would be one hr. long, but when we got briefed, they said it would be around 50 minutes — which is fine because if it had gone longer than that, I think I would’ve gotten sicker.

Our experience with Safari Helicopters was so good all around, and their price beat out a lot of their competitors. Plus, their perfect safety record really made me feel comfortable about flying with them. Flying in a helicopter was awesome, especially on Kaua’i, because there’s so much to see on Kaua’i that you can’t see any other way but by air. The two of us took the morning tour where we met at the office at 7:45 a.m. on May 11^th. Our host was thoroughly fun and informative. He is such an entertainer! The tour was just amazing and our pilot (she is from Germany) was so pleasant and I certainly learned more about Kauai. It is breathtaking and you feel you are looking at postcards during your flight. It was not bumpy at all and very easy to hear the pilot. I HIGHLY recommend them when on Kauai. They also have a service in Hilo but I have not taken that tour… yet!

This was the most exciting thing I did on the island. Brian was our pilot and Sherry took care of the shuttle. Both of them made it a great ride outside the fact that it’s Kauai. I mean really, could it be bad?

I am very afraid of heights and still really enjoyed this experience. The workers were all very friendly and I felt very safe. It is a great way to see the island. I would do the tour at the beginning so you can see all of the areas you want to go visit up close via a car/​boat/​hike.

Awesome experience! The staff and pilot were great, made us feel totally safe and comfortable. Our pilot was so knowledgeable it made the experience even better! We did this our first day on the island and it was def well worth it, we got a birds eye view of everything! There were a few company’s to chose from but for price and service I would go with Safari!

Safari Helicopter Tours was awesome! This was actually a last minute activity that we booked during our honeymoon and I’m so glad we did it. The experience started out by being entertained by Sherrell the tour guide. He was so damn funny and he had me and my wife cracking up the whole time. The tour itself was really awesome and we saw some amazing sights of Kauai. If you are considering doing a helicopter tour then I would highly recommend Safari!

The tour was amazing and the company was great. We were a group of 7 and they were extremely accommodating; also they had a great discount going on that made the tour a lot cheaper than others, without losing on quality and safety. Our pilot Paul was really nice and very knowledgeable about the island, he had lots of stories and recommendations.
The helicopter had big windows and even the people sitting in the middle in the back had great views. I simply loved it!

I thoroughly researched all of the different companies offering helicopter tours of Kauai, and ended up settling on Safari Helicopters because they were not as expensive but gave me the option to pay to secure the front seats, which was very important to me. Danielle was very helpful with the reservation process, so nice, and gave us a good deal on the front seats.
When we arrived at their location on the day of the tour, we got a safety overview and then it was off to the helicopter. I was a little nervous about motion sickness and I had taken a Dramamine beforehand, but this helicopter ride was the smoothest ride I’ve ever been on (smoother than driving on those Kauai roads, for sure!). Paka was an incredible pilot (a Kauai native!) and made the entire ride so smooth it felt like we weren’t moving at all. We were also the youngest people there that day by at least 40 years (we’re 26) and the older couples enjoyed it just as much as we did! So I think this is definitely a suitable activity for all ages.
They give you headsets to wear the whole time with excellent themed music (think Jurassic Park and Enya) and the pilot narrates through them, so you can’t even hear the helicopter. I really felt like I was sitting in a movie theatre with this miraculous scenery unfolding below me! The sights were incredible, even though it was somewhat cloudy in areas (as it frequently is) we still saw everything. We saw Jurassic Falls, Waipo’o Falls, Wailua Falls, the Na Pali Coast, Hanalei Bay, etc etc. The morning light is great for a lot of the island, however the Na Pali Coast is pretty shadowed in the morning, although you do get to see the amazing mist from the waves crashing against the cliffs which rises around the shadows… basically it still looks incredible in the morning.
If you are wanting to take a lot of pictures during the flight, I’d recommend booking a front seat. Paka made sure to turn the helicopter so that everyone would be able to see the sights, but I think it would have been hard to get good pictures from the back seats. Additionally, make sure to wear *dark clothing* with no words or anything on it (think a plain navy or black shirt and shorts/​pants) to minimize reflections in the windows if you are trying to take pictures.
Kauai is an incredible island and I think anyone would be remiss to not take a helicopter flight on it. We hope to go back to Kauai one day and when we do, we will definitely take another helicopter flight with Safari Helicopters. Mahalo!

In all seriousness though, spent hours trying to decide on the right company to go with and landed on Safari. Glad I did, it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The driver that runs you through safety precautions takes you to the helipad, buckles you in, and will also snap a photo for you. He’s also insanely hilarious.
Real talk moment: if you wanna be in the most luxurious, brand new helicopter on the island, Blue Hawaii is probably where to look.

Kauai is our favorite place on earth, and the helicopter tour was the highlight of our time there.
We planned on taking the tour for my husband’s birthday, but the weather was against us, and our flight was cancelled. We talked with Danielle, and let her know the next day was our last day on the island, and she secured a spot for us. She was the best!
Chantal drove us to the flight pad and had a million funny stories to keep us entertained. Our pilot, Brian, was extremely experienced and made the experience extra special. We even met Keith Robinson who spent time with us.
Our tour could not have been better — beautiful views and superb service!

Our helicopter tour was one of the things we were looking forward to more than anything when we went to Kauai. It was pretty rainy, but still spectacular. Our pilot was knowledgable and polite.
Our one gripe was: We mentioned that we would like front seats if possible. We were then told that we were «perfect candidates» for front seat passengers, and if we wanted to upgrade to guarantee front seats, it would be an additional $ 25 each. Fine, we said, no problem. When we got there, it was obvious that even if we had not paid the additional fee, we both would have been placed up front anyway for appropriate weight distribution, since all the other passengers in our ride were significantly bigger than we were. We felt that was kind of shady business practice and like we got a little ripped off. Left a bad taste in our mouth as far as the company goes. Just be forewarned!

My husband and I researched a number of helicopter tour companies in Kauai, and we went with Safari because it was the most affordable for a full hour tour and it could accommodate the two of us and our four friends in one helicopter. It also has a flawless safety record, which was comforting. :-) It was such an unforgettable experience. We truly got to see all of the untouched beauty of Kauai and learn so much about the island’s history from our amazing pilot. I highly recommend this tour.
If I had one criticism, which clearly is not significant enough to impact my rating, it’s that I was a bit confused by their «front seating» fee. The woman who was processing payments told us that we could sit in the front of the helicopter for an additional fee, which we accepted, but in retrospect, what would they have done if all six of us declined the fee? Would they have made two of us ride in the back of a different helicopter? We booked the entire helicopter for our group, so it didn’t really make sense and seemed a little shady. Again, not enough to impact my five star rating.

Helicopter is a great way to see Kauai. Aerial views allow you to get into the mountainous areas on the island. My favorite spot in particular was the Napali coastline, especially the «weeping wall». This was absolutely the most beautiful thing I think I have ever seen in my life and no photo will do it justice you just have to see for yourself.
Beware that there is a glare on the glass of the helicopter so you may not get perfect photos, but it is more about the experience and seeing it through your own eyes. Our pilot was Brian and was great, the ride was smooth and he was informative. They played Hawaiian music and had AC, headsets and a microphone to talk to each other.
Only setback would be the doors were on and the trip seemed a bit shorter than what the ad had promised. It is a little on the pricey side for the time it took to fly around the island. But in the end, it was worth it.

First time in a helicopter + first time in Kauai = incredible experience.
You have to do it.

It would hard to say that any helicopter ride in Kauai was anything less than exceptional, however, from my experiences doing these several times in my life, this was the most enjoyable and pleasurable of all the rides. I wish I remembered my tour guides name, because he was such a delight. It was hard not to fall in love with him because he was just the perfect human being! The ride was so smooth and not scary at all (some of the instructors from past experience-​not with this company– have treated the tour like a rollercoaster rather than a joy ride). My mother can’t walk too well, and this staff MADE SURE that we got the front seats! Once they saw her in wheel chair, they made every single accommodation to make sure she has the best time, not only that, but to make sure that she didn’t feel like a burden (and I must say, that really made my experience THAT much better). A wonderful, polite and caring staff goes a VERY long way, and let me tell you, the staff at Safari is THE BEST!
As far as the ride itself goes, it was stunning. We got a lot of great info during the ride and the tour guide had so much patience during it too; he really loves his job. Here was fun music to go along with every different portion of the trip.
When I ever get my butt back to Kauai, I will be sure to use them again and to refer them to everyone!
