This bar was previously J.D. Dempsey’s, Pipers, and the Dumpster. It is now called Bailen’s and moving to new ownership. Overall, it is a failing local dive that has had better days. Wednesday and Thursday nights are quiet, but have Judy bartending(this would be a clear one-star review if not for her), a wonderful woman who has been through all of the various incarnations of bars at this location over the past few decades. Wednesday night has a 20-strong pool league of locals playing on it’s three pool tables. Friday night is some really horrible karaōke– they turn it up as loud as they can, whether anyone is here to sing or listen or not. To be fair, the KJ is awful, most of the participants are fine. Don’t expect anything like working clean restrooms, locks on the stalls, or niceties like coat hooks. It isn’t that kind of place. Food is incredibly mediocre and astoundingly overpriced, service is hit or miss unless you have Judy bartending, and don’t expect to have decent beers available but they’ll have at least two Miller brands on tap and Natty Light is available on draft for $ 2 in a red solo cup.
