Kewpee is great. If you haven’t had it before you might not love it the first time you go but it will grow on you. Every time I go to Lima I have to get a Kewpee burger. I love them.

I brought my family to my hometown and was taking them to all the different local eateries that we can’t get in the Carolinas and of course Kewpie was one of them. My daughter is not a fan of burgers but requested to eat there a second time while we were in town. I personally come for the sugar cream pie which she thinks is nasty but she fell in love with the double cheese bacon burger. I’m still mad because I forgot to buy a whole sugar cream pie to bring home with me.

We love the food. Fast, fresh and pretty affordable. The fish sandwich is a personal favorite of mine and the chilli too. I had frozen yogurt today with my daughter and we both enjoyed it !! 2.80 for both of us . I always get a double large drink too… for $ 1 .can’t beat that !!

I love kewpee burgers and fries! But the Marchocolate is by far the best time of the year. Disappointed though, they only sell my favorite pie — cookies and cream from march 1st — 14th… never understood this! This Kewpee in particular is always packed, never go around lunch or dinner unless you wanna wait in a long line.

Grew up in this area so acquired a taste at the kewpie recently returned after 25 years and was anxious to try it after two visits on Allentown and one visit downtown I can say I’m disappointed something’s changed over the years and they just aren’t as tasty as a used to be

I had just bought a vehicle from a leave up the street and had a 17 hour drive home ahead of me to Texas. On the way in to the dealership I was starved so I looked in Unilocal and the internet to see if there was any goods places to eat. This was literally 2 blocks past the dealership. So first of all what’s with the naked«big boy» looking dolls? Building looked like it had been around a while. Only three people in line in front of me, took five to ten minutes to put in my order. I got the double cheese burger, chili and a piece of lemon crunch pie. Burger was good, lots of fresh ingredients including green olives! Burger fell apart on bun very messy to eat. Chili was just so so, to me it was nothing special. the pie was good but I had no run left for it. Busy place by the time I left must have been fifty plus people in there. It was a quaint experience, food was decent, service was decent, I totally get the hometown hero, we have places like this back in Chicago(gene and judes, Johnnys beef, Russell’s bbq)

To the locals this place is sacred and I have yet to figure out why. It’s very rare that a place can make McDonald’s look good but this one did. The burgers were thin and unseasoned. The buns fell apart and the malt had me wishing that we never went there. STAYAWAY!!!

Best fast food burgers ever! Kewpee patties their meat fresh everyday. It is never frozen(I used to work there). The pies are also baked fresh every morning. **I will say sometimes the fries do need more salt. It just depends on who is making them when you buy them.

This used to be a great burger place. Now it’s just ok. Thin meat patties, buns that fall apart and crappy produce. The fries are the bomb. Frostys are great. And the best ice for a fountain drink. Those are the only reasons I would even give them a star. Could care less about ever eating here again in my life.

This was our go to joint every time we were looking for a burger fix.(During 2004 — 2007, when we lived in Lima, OH) 1) The staff were always attentive and friendly. They were always joking around when we ordered our food. 2) The burgers as well as the ingredients tasted fresh. 3) Service was fast.

I’ve ate kewpee since I was a kid. It has it’s good days and bad. When it’s good, it’s still just ok, burgers never have seasoning. When it’s bad, fries cold, bun smashed up, chili runny with little to no meat. Like I said, it has it’s good days and bad. If you’ve never ate here I suggest giving it a try, it definitely beats McDonald’s. Oh and don’t forget the frosty! Those are always good :)

The chili is my favorite and reasonably priced but their chili add ons should really come with the chili if asked for rather than additional when they are really normal chili toppings. Anyways, the hamburgers, fries and chili are all great. I haven’t really had anything else from there nor do I think they have much more to choose from. The hamburgers taste better than the greasy ones from the bigger name chains.

Besides the lack of even an antiquated POS system and drinks the size of a thimble, Kewpee has the best burgers ever. I could do without the naked babies on the wall, though.

Kewpee Hamburgers is the second known chain of hamburger fast-food restaurants, founded in 1923 in Flint, Michigan under the name«Kewpee Hotel Hamburgs».[1][3]Kewpee’s current headquarters is located in Lima, Ohio.[1]The chain is named after the Kewpie doll.[1][4] Kewpee was one of the first to institute curbside service, which morphed into drive-in service, and then finally was transformed into drive-thru service.[1][3] Its founder, Samuel V. Blair, also claims to be the first to use the flat bun and developed the«deluxe» hamburger.[citation needed] The Lima Kewpee locations have locally raised, boneless beef delivered daily to each Kewpee restaurant.[1](source ) The hamburger recipe has not changed and they still use the original german buns. A must have if you are in the area!

This place has been a tradition since my mom and aunt were teenagers back in the early 50’s. Hamburgers are real beef and grilled, fries are awesome along with the chocolate frosty. They serve pieces of pie as well as you can order a whole one. They have not changed the menu much in all these years but my favorite addition is their frozen cappuccino. The service is usually good but lunch and dinner hrs get really busy and there is always a wait. Prices are good for the quality of food.

I found the food mediocre at best. And that is me being kind. This is not to take away from the popularity of the establishment. While there people were coming in both entrances to get their Kewpee fix. I can only imagine that a Kewpee burger is an acquired taste. If so, it is one I do not wish to ever acquire.

To someone who doesn’t live in Lima this place seems like a fast-food burger place, but with many loyal customers. The food isn’t great and there was an old baby doll sitting on the wall. This place is just okay.

Growing up in Lima had it’s good times and bad. One of the best things about Lima is it’s good grub! Because I now reside in the San Francisco Bay, I have been able to experience both Kewpee and In-and-Out. While to me there is NO comparison, kewpee reigns in my book for best burgers EVER. Kewpee was around before In-and-Out and will be around forever! Although they have a very simple menu, it never gets old… and the pecan or sugar cream pie is to die for! I can’t even find sugar cream pie anywhere else! If you are ever«Lost In Middle America» or in LIMA, be sure to stop by Kewpee. There are 3 locations for your picking!

Kewpee takes IN-N-OUT’s formula of a simple, cheap menu with high-quality ingredients and adds a touch of genuine Midwestern charm. Almost all the ingredients are local: the meat is ground and pattied in-house daily, the produce and dairy is local, the buns are baked daily in Lima. The day staff mostly is adults, big ones, who look like they have no higher aspirations than burger work or have retired and just want something to do. That’s not a criticism. They’re absolutely awesome for being into Kewpee’s. If I could make a living slinging burger, I probably would. Anyway, the food is out of this world. Burgers are fresh. Chili is famous, but I wasn’t impressed. The malts are a bit bland and taste more like soft serve than a genuine malt. Some other nice features at this Kewpee location: MasterCard is accepted. Old people EVERYWHERE. Naked kewpee dolls hanging from the walls. LOTS of parking and registers to take your order. The downtown Kewpee is short on both and almost always has a line. Also, the food wrappers are so cute I had to save mine. Example: My malt cup reads, «Hamburg Pickle On Top! Makes Your *heart symbol* Go Flippity Flop!» I intend to take every out-of-town guest to Kewpee. Well, maybe not the vegetarians.
