I really can’t figure out how it has so many stars. My oriental chicken salad was gross. The highly recommended cheddar apple smoked turkey was only ok because of the cheese. The«homemade» bread was so dry it was not appealing. My sister got the quesadilla which was okay. Service was fast, that’s the best I can say for this place.

Everything I had was absolutely delicious! Gluten free biscotti is hard to perfect, and they have! Their coffee was high quality, and I even got a bag of whole Bean that was tasty when I made it at home. Their fair trade items are cool, and they have made in Ohio things I am regretting not purchasing. I also recommend their gluten free cheesecake!

How much can you French Press? Meeting at market place not only brews a mean cup of coffee but has great options for breakfast and lunch. Also I hope you like bacon because their bacon comes with extra bacon. Whether you are looking for a good lunch option downtown or need a 2 pm pick me up, with over 101 drink options, meeting at market place is the place to be.

I found this lovely spot as I was searching for a place in Lima to satiate my need for coffee. The lady working there was very nice and seemed pretty knowledgeable about the coffees and desserts. She even got my guy friend to try a white mocha, and he isn’t much of a coffee drinker. He seemed to like it quite a bit, much to my surprise. I had a caramel machiatto with soy. That was also pretty good. And we took a red velvet cupcake to go. This was definitely a good find. :)

The Meeting Place on Market has been around for a while now and it should be no surprise. Excellent coffee, lunch options, and friendly staff. Be sure to check out their website calendar because they often have live music, cooking lessons, etc in the evenings. Highly recommend!

Fantastic little lunch place. I highly recommend. Had the half combo with strawberry spinach salad and the chicken quesadilla half… was Very good. What a great menu… unique sandwiches, paninis, and salads, daily soups. We all splurged and got dessert too… a Raspberry Tart(shortbread crust stuffed with raspberry pie filling… YUM) and my co workers got salted caramel cheesecakes that they both raved about. If your looking for lunch in Lima… Walk right past the fast food joints along Market Street and stop here. It will not disappoint

I love this place. I can’t come here enough. The drinks and bakery are the best in Lima. I’ve had lunch here a couple times and was never really impressed, so I stick with drinks and baked goods. Definitely recommend to both Lima residents and those passing through.

What a cute little unexpected gem in the heart of Lima! My group had to pick a central meeting spot(we’re all over the state), and were able to get our work done(over several hours) at one of the many tables in the coffee shop. Great menu, with lots of sandwich, soup, salad, and smoothie options, and it all was pretty good. There is also a plethora of baked goods, including a lot of gluten free items! Also love the gift shop, fair trade coffee, and the gluten-free flour, etc. It’s order at the counter, and the servers bring out food to you at your table. They were all very friendly and helpful. There is free wi-fi, and a lot of space so you can easily find a spot to eat with friends, read a book, or get work done.

Wow! This place is fantastic. Not what I expected in a small town in OH. They have great coffee and make a wonderful breakfast. I had the breakfast wrap two days in a row… delicious and full of veggies. They also have great coffee. Very reasonable prices.

I was in Lima for a week for business and stayed at the Wingate which was about a block away from the Meeting Place. I like to try new places and am glad I gave this one a go. I ate there for breakfast almost every day and had the Southwest Wrap three of the days and a breakfast sandwich another. They were great! I loved the wrap — it was filling but didn’t leave me feeling like I overate. The coffee was good as well — and this is coming from a guy who doesn’t normally drink coffee. I ate lunch there a couple of days as well. I had a Greek Salad one day and a Spinach & Strawberry Salad another day. Both were excellent! If you go, I recommend trying the baked goods on their own. The complex flavor of the wheat bread would be hard to duplicate from a chain such as Panera which has to make its baked goods scalable for a large audience. Prices can’t be beat either(a cup of coffee was 99 cents). I highly recommend The Meeting Place.

I am not a big coffee guy, but really enjoyed a café-au-lait from the meeting place. The décor is what you expect, the service is above average and the prices are good. Looking for a good cup of Joe, this is one of the best paces to get it

Really great place for breakfast and lunch. I was in town for work and my hotel was just across the street, walked there every morning for breakfast. Great breakfast pastries and bread, and great selection of coffee and tea. Everyone was nice and sweet and really made you feel welcomed! They have really great salads, I had this amazing strawberry and spinach salad really delicious. Really enjoyed their home coffee cake as well! Definitively a must try when in Lima, Ohio!

Fantastic local coffee shoppe. I’m from the area, and this is where I take friends when they’re in town for a great light lunch(soups and sandwiches). There is live music some weekend nights. Try the smoothies!

I really like this place for the mere fact that it is the only place like it in Lima. While I’m here, I plan to enjoy The Meeting Place on Market frequently. Their wraps are solid and delicious, my favorite being the Chicken Caesar. They also have pretty amazing quesadillas, which are hot and toasty. Their drinks are also very good. A fave of mine is the Chai Tea Chiller, which happens to be smooth and spiced. Their baked cheesecakes are to die for, apparently: I brought some back to my dorm and people continually asked me where I got it because oh my god, it is so delicious. I have yet to try their soups or various other dishes. All in all, I’d recommend this place to all of my friends. It’s a cozy atmosphere, but not the best — I like my coffeehouses to be more dimmed and seclusive.

I’m still a fan, but avoid the Good Morning Bagel. It’s dry, flavorless and short on meat, cheese and egg.

How many stars to give? This is a tough one. On the one hand, this is the only coffeehouse in Lima. Wow, that’s some big-time stars right there. They sell reusable coffee mugs, also a plus. You can linger and read the newspaper. There’s a vegetarian wrap on the menu. On the other hand, the creamsicle and some other drinks are kind of grossly sweet, and the garden salad is gross too(olives, cauliflower…). I ordered the garden plate, with the garden salad, fruit salad, and banana bread, which was fine but not as great as I expected, and my friend got the vegetarian wrap. We switched half-way through, because we each thought maybe we’d like the other’s better. It’s also a little unclear how this place works. The answer is that you order at the counter, if you’re eating in you get a number and take it to a table, and someone brings your food when it’s ready. They bus the tables for you. Overall, I’m glad this place exists and would go back, so I’m giving 4 stars.

With housing provided by St. Rita’s, no wi-fi, basic cable, and my days with the radiologist only lasting 8 – 10 hours I was left with plenty of free time to look for things to do. I spent a year in Lima one January… …and the only place I found that would bring me back in The Meeting Place. In 25 days in the city, I went to the Meeting Place approximately 15 – 20 times. Great coffee with free refills, interesting people, and nice sandwiches and desserts… but only open till 8pm and parking so inconvenient you’d think Lima was a happening town. Thankfully I’ve found that their blueberry muffin coffee can be ordered online and as such I’ll hopefully never have to go back to Lima. ;-)

This place gets 5 stars since it’s really the only coffee shop like it in town. I’ve been amazed that for Lima’s size, it still doesn’t have even one Starbucks(that isn’t in a grocery venue). Lima needs more third places to just hang out and the Meeting Place creates an option for that. The décor is a little frilly for my personal tastes and while comfy seating is limited, the booths are a nice offering. I’m not sure of the background on their coffee, but it’s good and I’ve really liked the sandwiches I’ve had there.
