Good local American Chinese. Consistently good food from a clean environment. I love their boneless spare ribs, dumplings, sesame chicken, and all of the other staples of a good Chinese restaurant. The chicken is actually white meat chicken and the meats are not suspect like other places I’ve been. After moving away from the area I have not been able to find an Americanized Chinese food restaurant like this one. Today, I’m driving over an hr just to get my favs because I’ve been craving the boneless spare ribs and dumplings since I left. Ming Garden you have earned five stars from me. Please keep up the quality and consistency because it truly sets you apart.

While the food has always been pretty good here… I say pretty good because sometimes their chicken is a bit off, their service does not compare. Numerous times, staff has been rude. However I love their pork fried rice, so I return.

Awful! General Tso’s chicken was dried out and overcooked. Also had very little sauce. Fried rice was bland.

We came across this restaurant after moving to the area a year ago. It’s the best in the area — that we’ve tried.

I have been coming here since I moved to PA from NY14 years ago, and it is by far my local favorite. You get a LOT for the money, extremely high quality food, and a really comfortable inside restaurant. My wife and I recently moved away(to Phoenixville) but we still go out of our way to get food when you can. We are huge fans of the delicious dumplings, and General Tsos. I also think it’s the best wonton soup in the area. We have never had a disappointing meal!

My fiancé and I order takeout from here all the time, more than we should actually. It’s always very good! They give you a lot for your money. We can split one combination platter between us no problem, but we usually get two so that we’ll have leftovers for lunch. Friendly staff and nice clean restaurant if you want to dine in.

Gotta love the Ming. Very friendly staff. Quality of food may vary slightly based on who’s cooking that day. Those looking for truly authentic Chinese food may want to stay with traditional Chinese places, this is more Americanized. That being said, we’ve been going here for about 4 years now and have never been disappointed.

I grew up around Ming garden. Was there when they opened, and steve and his wife had a hand in my upbringing always there with a kind word and a smile. Lunch selection has grown by a few new choices and only raised $ 1.25 in the past several years! The quantity you get in the lunch menu is staggering for $ 5.50 you get dishes that fill you up all the way! Great place. Great atmosphere!

I rarely write reviews on Unilocal, but I feel the need to stand up for this business. First of all, Americanized Chinese is a cuisine. It’s not what one eats in China, no, but it has its own history and generations of Americans have enjoyed it. There’s no need to be elitist about it. Most Italians wouldn’t recognize the stuff served around here either, but nobody gets uppity about it. That said, Ming’s version of this cuisine is the best in the area. A good solid Chinese takeout place is the first thing we look for when we move. We tried a few and they were fair, but Ming’s was the best. It’s consistent, friendly, fast and really affordable. Plus, they always have coupons, which is nice. Food-wise, we enjoy the sweet and sour chicken(always crispy), egg rolls, wonton soup(offered as a soup choice with the lunch special, which I appreciate), dumplings, Szechuan wontons and beef with garlic sauce. They over-fill the containers with the sweet and sour chicken. Even the small order is generous. Service is excellent. Everyone who answers the phone is pleasant and they’ve never gotten our order wrong. It never takes them longer than ten minutes to prepare our order. What more can you ask for? Anyone who knows Chinese food knows there’s an excellent authentic Chinese restaurant nearby. If that’s what you’re looking for, go there. But if you want standard piping-hot Americanized Chinese food with good quality meat, large portions and great service, go to Ming’s. We order here all the time.(Also, because I’m kind of food phobic I’ll just let you know we’ve never gotten sick from eating here. Hate to even mention it, but that’s something I look for in Unilocal review, so there ya go.) P. S. I once got 5 wontons in a small serving of wonton soup! That was a nice surprise.

Terrible, terrible food. Service was nice, but the food was awful. We came here recently thanks to the positive Unilocal reviews and were severely disappointed. There are many other MUCH better Chinese food options on Ridge Pike. Do not waste your time!

This is hands-down the best Chinese food in the Pottstown area. Without question. I know a lot of people like Tang’s Garden… and they must have really changed since I first ate there in ’03, because they were flat-out mediocre. Ming… is wonderful. Everything is good. And I’ve eaten there for almost 10 years now, so I’ve tried a lot. The lo-mein is good. The General Tso’s is excellent(crispy on the outside, soft on the inside). I even like the egg-foo-young. And the hot and sour soup should not be missed. The service is always spot-on and very polite and you can’t beat the lunch special. Tons of food for no money. I will highly recommend eating in, rather than getting take-out. Yes, you need to shell out for the tip, however the food just doesn’t travel all that well.

I’m really surprised by the good reviews here… this place is the most americanized Chinese food I’ve ever had — in fact, I wouldn’t even go as far to call it chinese food. Literally, the dishes all looked like gravy and rice served with an egg roll on the side. We will never be back — its definitely worth the drive to RoFo to get *authentic*Chinese at Han Dynasty!

Standard American Chinese food, but the ingredients are great for the price. I live in Philly and I make it a point to try out every Chinese joint. This place beats all the places I’ve been to in the same price range. Go there for the lunch special. Soup and meal for $ 5.50. The only problem is you won’t want to go back to work afterwards.
