Love this place! Although Lincoln doesn’t really have many other options for Japanese style ramen, this place offers a great selection for the entire town! Prices are super reasonable, $ 8 for a bowl and you can add items like samba hot sauce, garlic, etc for .25 each! I usually get the chicken miso, but I’m sure other things are good as well – it comes loaded with all the toppings, seaweed, corn, scallions, bok Choy, and of course chicken and tons of ramen. They keep a spice jar on the table so you can add extra spices. We tried the pork dumplings this time, they were also good, in a nice, sticky soy sauce, with scallions draped on top. Next time I want to try the dumplings dry in my soup, and I also want to try the ramen with spicy peanut sauce. We were told they are expanding their menu and now have stir fry and pork cream cheese stuffed jalapeños, which we definitely want to try next time also. Service was pretty good, and the ambiance is great. We ordered and I would say our bowls were out within 5 – 10 minutes. Nice, cozy place. Great for lunch, good for a quick dinner, but either way, that bowl of ramen will fill you up quick! Come hungry. They also have gluten free options.

Where to start… I went there with a group of friends before a concert and I didn’t know what to order. I started off with a ginger lemonade that was amazing. I don’t know what it was actually called but I had the #4 in chicken without pickled cabbage and a order of dumplings. When I got my order I was omg can I finish this? The noodles were awesome the broth was awesome okay the whole dish was awesome! The dumplings were just as awesome. This place is quite enjoyable however I wish the cashier process was a little more organized. Props goes out to the young gal who did cash us out she had it. I will return again!

Good food and good service Very nice waiter and waitress We ordered wrong dumplings but they gave us extra pork dumplings on the house Very nice of them Had dinner there a few times wasn’t a very good experience due to the soup being cook all day and taste salty But lunch time was amazing the soup was just perfect wasn’t salty

Good but nothing special. Ordered pork dumplings and Miso ramen w pork belly. I was ½ way done w the ramen by the time the dumplings came out. The Miso ramen only had 2 small pieces of pork belly and lacked taste. Certainly not a bad meal but just not good enough to go back.

This is a tough place. I really want to give it more stars because I like the people, style, concept, and atmosphere. So, it’s tough to give it 3 stars but the food quality is just lacking. I don’t know how else to say it. I know it’s ramen noodles but the ramen I made in college seemed a lot more flavorful than this. Maybe I was just living the 3am dorm room dream. Idk lol. Something is missing here though. I don’t want to rip into them too much because, like I said there’s so much to like, it’s just not worth it more than maybe once every month or two. You can get better flavors at some of Lincoln or Omaha’s delicious Vietnamese restaurants

My kids and I stopped in Lincoln for the night as we were heading home to Boulder CO. We found this Ramen Bar downtown. The atmosphere is very hipster and the staff is friendly. The menu is simple with a handful of different Roman bowls to chose from. They have outdoor seating which faces the sidewalk and street downtown. The prices are very reasonable about $ 10 a bowl. They also have pot stickers which are very reasonable at 2 for $ 1.50. My kids loved the food, especially the pot stickers. We will definitely come back! If you like Roman bowls, you should check the place out!

Review is for food only. Worst ramen i’ve ever been to. i don’t think this place is even a true ramen noodle restaurant. I had the Miso with pork belly and my husband got the tonkatsu. The broth was very very very very very bland, watered down. My miso tasted like it had star anise or chinese five spice in it. I know you can’t get good ramen in Lincoln but I was expecting something that is decent enough to eat. I was left feeling unsatisfied and hangry because my portion was small. i could tell immediately that there wasn’t much in it from the three thin slices of pork with a couple of canned corn kernels and two stalks of bok choys. I am now eating instant ramen at home to make up. Also got the dumplings and the dough was tough while the meat was overcooked and dry.

I’ve been here a couple of times and the nice thing about this place is that they offer rice noodles as a gluten free option. I love the atmosphere with its long wrap around bar, organic surroundings, light up peace sign and multicolored hanging lights. It literally does some trickery to my brain making me imagine I’m in Seattle, Portland, or my much adored Berkeley. They have a nice selection including udon, ramen, and the gf rice noodles. You can select from pork belly, chicken, and tofu. Your broths include tonkotsu which my fiancé loved, shoyu, miso, and tan tan men. I’ve had the last one with chicken a couple times and while I enjoy the spicy peanut broth I wish there were more things I could have, I’m getting a little tan tan-ed out. Two of the broths have soy so that’s out for gf allergies and miso is highly questionable. I can’t usually get any of their other specials either but the fiancé got the dumplings and said they were pretty much all that n a bag ah chips. Service is usually hit or miss. The kitchen seems very knowledgeable about gluten free and that’s reassuring. I’ve been told I can have things and then the server comes back and says the chefs put a nar-nope kabosh on my order to save me from the gluten, much appreciated. We’ve waited for water quite frequently but overall everyone is really friendly, easy going, and accommodating to my annoying allergy. I like this place and will definitely be back but just due to my limited options I don’t have enough variety to make it a routine snack stop. Prices are very affordable and ramen portions are«roll me out the door» size.

A ramen place exists in Lincoln, Nebraska?! 4 stars just for being here. No joke, when I was considering moving here, I found this place on Unilocal and breathed a huge sigh of relief that perhaps Nebraska might be livable. But seriously, the ramen is actually decent. It’s nothing like what you can get in places like NYC, but portions are good, toppings are interesting, and service is fast. Perfect for a cold day, especially because it’s walkable from the university. As the pork belly is pretty rich, I personally like swapping out chicken for the pork belly in the tonkustu(that makes it healthy, right? especially if I order it with a diet coke? ;-)). For the vegetarians – my husband is vegetarian, and he got the veg ramen here. Not amazing, but passable.

Unbelievable food. A MUST in Lincoln. This is what traditional ramen should be. The flavors, textures… omnomnom

Heaven in a bowl. Seriously. This is SO not the Ramen you buy at the store. I know it seems strange to get excited over«soup» but this is so utterly fantastic it will keep you coming back again and again. I usually go for the #4 Tantanmen with pork and don’t forget the order of fresh dumplings(until they run out). A little bit pricy, perhaps, but not over the top. SERIOUSLY. HEAVENIN A BOWL!

Had a #4, Tan Tan Men(I had ground pork, can also get chicken). Wife had some sort of stir fry special w/chicken which wasn’t on the menu(which was a little dated according to our waitress). My noodle bowl was awesome. I don’t know how ‘authentic’ it was… the ground pork tasted a lot like ground American breakfast sausage to me(which was tasty). I haven’t been to any other similar places to be able to make a quality comparison here, but if this place is just ‘average’, I’m going to every single dang one of these that I can… I’d happily eat here weekly if I could. Would def like to try the pork belly one. My wife’s food was just okay I thought. The noodles she had were stir fried in a sauce that I thought was too sweet. I definitely enjoyed the couple bites that I got from her, but I wouldn’t have wanted the whole plate. If you and a couple friends are really hungry, I suppose a noodle bowl for each of you, and 1 of the stir fry to share would be pretty good, just to try it out.

Good ambiance. I like the set up of the restaurant, especially the large bar. I’ve eaten here three times, and staff was kind and helpful. Service is quick. I’ve had their tonkatsu and miso ramen. I’ve also had the pork dumplings. The tonkatsu ramen is delicious. Broth is nicely seasoned and the pork belly is always so good. The noodles have a nice texture and spring as well. I love all the veggies in the dish. The miso ramen was good, but I wish it tasted stronger of miso. I almost wanted to add more salt. I wish their broth came out hotter. Bowls always came out just warm. Portions are good for me, but it may not be enough for a grown man. Portion is smaller compared to other ramen restaurants I’ve been to. The half egg is deliciously seasoned, but egg yolk texture is inconsistent. Sometimes it’s overcooked. I once had a half that was perfect and another that was overdone in the same bowl. I’ve had the pork dumplings twice. The first time, it came out cold. The wrap was hard, and it tasted like it was stale. I gave it a try a second time during another visit, just in case I had a bad batch. Though it was warmer the second time, it still tasted the same. The wrap almost tasted like its undercooked. A good dumpling should be tender. The filling inside isn’t too interesting. The dumplings are one of their weaknesses. Overall, this is a good place for ramen, but not without some imperfections.

Flavor very good. Food temperature was good. I like it steaming hot, was not that but not Luke warm either. Price was good. For Nebraska this is as good as it gets. I will definitely be back.

Delicious, convenient, affordable ramen! For $ 8 you get your choice of several ramen bowls, all are generously sized with a typical meat portion. The broth was easily best I’ve had in Nebraska but the noodles didn’t seem to have the same quality that I have found across the pacific… I know in Japan I saw works hand tossing noodles… Not sure if these are simply rehydrated, but they are similar to other ramen noodles in Omaha. To begin the meal we started with sticky buns and gyoza, the ingredients in the bun were flavorful but a mixture of warm and cold temps was strange. The gyoza was great and could have had several more! Definitely a place to keep on your short list of quick lunches in Lincoln!

I wish Amu Manu was in Lincoln when I lived here! Eric R. and I were en route from MHK to Omaha when we were detoured on 77 North and 35 miles out of the way later we decided to eat dinner in Lincoln rather than wait til we got to Omaha. Amu Manu is open until 9 and we arrived at 8:15, sitting at the bar(it is a seat yourself place). Both servers were very friendly and attentive. We started with hot green tea(shared a pot). We ordered the famous dumplings(1 order of pork for Eric, 1 order of vegan for me) which were luckily not sold out. Eric R. got the shoyu ramen and I ordered the tan tan tofu and added half of an egg. Our ramen came out before the dumplings! It was very hot and delicious. Mine had a peanut broth with chile oil, with cucumber, tofu, pickled cabbage, cilantro, crispy shallots, bok shoy, and udon noodles… so not really ramen, but tasty! Then there was my fabulous ramen egg. The vegan dumplings had fried garlic in them and were very tasty. We got hot, oishi food fast! I decided the cucumber lemonade sounded compelling so I got it to go to drink on the way to Omaha. It tasted a lot like my favorite Gatorade flavor, cucumber lime. I would definitely return!

WOW! This was good bowl of Ramen. Beautiful location. I started off with the cucumber lemonade and it definitely set the stage for a great meal. I ordered the pork dumplings as an appetizer and they were out of this world! The sauce was so delicious and they are definitely something not to be missed. My bowl of miso ramen with chicken arrived quickly and was so good it disappeared in less than 10 minutes. The buttered corn was a great addition to this bowl as well. The service was fantastic with several individuals appearing at our table throughout to assist with our meal. We were a table of four and were able to split our check easily and pay separately which made splitting the lunch bill super easy.

All my favorite things in one place: miso ramen and Thai chai. First off, this ramen bar is aesthetically pleasing, nice décor and very cozy. But, what I had received for my meal, I wouldn’t mind sitting in a shack in trade with how great the quality of service and food was at Amu Manu. Our server was great, and rocked out the whole dining room himself while still being very attentive and timely. I ordered the Miso Ramen with an extra egg, chicken, and the house chili sauce on the side. For my drink, I got the Thai chai(Thai tea) which came in a can — it was the Taste Nirvana brand so I can’t complain. All for around 10 $, you get a pretty big portion with the perfect ratio of broth to noodles. The ramen was presented so beautifully that I was hesitant to even dive in. The egg was poached so perfectly, nice solid egg white with a gooey yolk, yum! I’ve had miso broth at about every Asian restaurant know to Nebraskans and this knocks everyone else out of the park. Definitely could tell it was a miso paste base rather than a powder from a package. I will be taking more impulsive Lincoln trips to accommodate my ramen addiction!

Pretty stellar bowl of goodness here! I got the tofu curry noodle thing and it made me sing a song of joy in my mouth! I also got an order of vegan dumplings that made me sing as well! The layout of this place is really cool, sushi type bar in the round, with tables to the outside! They recommend choosing chop sticks of over silverware and they give you a little piece of asian candy to top the meal off at the end! The service was great, they hooked us up with free tea, and the price was right! I hadn’t eaten all day, and if you are only going to eat one meal this is the spot to hit in downtown Lincoln!

Amu Ramen Bar is a breath of fresh air for lunch. Very tasty and way different. Lincoln has so many chain restaurants and sandwich shops my head hurts just thinking about it. I like a turkey sandwich as much as the next guy but I don’t want to be forced into communism choices for lunch options! Amu Ramen offers pork, chicken, and vegan noodle options with such choices as Tonkotsu, Shoyu, Miso, and Tan Tan Men. If you visit you must try the homemade dumplings. Get there early though because they run out on busy days. They have inventive add-ons like half an egg and fresh garlic that can tailor your ordered Ramen to your liking.
