Eddie Bauer

I have been a long time customer of eddie bauer. I have some jeans, pants, jackets, and boots I bought over 20 years ago and they still fit and look barely used. I have found their shirts have decreased in quality a little over the years. That said, the quality is still amazing and worth the price. I bought a new all weather waterproof jacket in 2009 to take to Ireland for both my wife and I, because we knew we would get rained on a bit. And we did. Today I still wear it every night to walk the dog even in the rain and this jacket still holds up and looks like it is brand new. 5 years later. I can’t say the same of most of my other clothes from cheaper brands or stores. Overall they continue up to keep quality good bit you have to hunt for bargains as the everyday prices are above what you might expect or see at discount retailers. Located inside Gateway Mall this store is not as big as other locations buy seems to have most of the essential items. You can also order all their catalog items in the store as well.

I have shopped at Eddie Bauer since the early 1990’s. In fact, I still own some of the clothes that I bought way back then. Sadly, something has changed. Nearly all of their cotton shirts and sweatshirts now shrink, their denim jeans are thinner, and the overall quality seems to have gone downhill. It really says something that I am still wearing some clothes that are over 20 years old from them, but new clothes don’t last more than a year. I have stopped purchasing Eddie Bauer clothes. That said, their coats are still top notch and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy their winter outerwear.
Also, and I wish there was a seperate rating for this, but their customer service is always exceptional. I have never had a bad experience with one of their employees. I actually wrote an e-​mail to their customer service a year or so ago and got a personal response from the Vice President of something, or other. We discussed my concerns and did some research and got back to me. That is exceptional.
So, for their clothes, I’d give them 2 stars. Customer service is, and always has been 5 stars.
