Évaluation du lieu : 1 Lincoln, CA
Let me start by saying that the conditions for which we needed a storage immediately were less than fantastic. Even so, I have waited a very long time to write this review in hopes of not being to mean. That said, I will share my experience with Lincoln Mini Storage. It was already getting pretty warm. It was as it is every summer in this part of the state supposed to be a scorcher. Minimalist back story we had a whole lot of less than stellar circumstances result in an automotive shop plus a home to 2 adults, 2 children, and a dog worth of property i. e tools, shop equipment, desks, computers, beds, toys, etc. needing immediate storage for an undetermined amount of time. My wife took on the task of locating a storage facility close to where we were going to be living for the moment. That place of residence being Lincoln, CA. She was excited to tell me she found a place to store all our stuff for an unbelievably reasonable price, short term with an increase of only 50% after 3 months but could be rediscounted with a commitment of 6 months or more… Ok. Why not? It was hard times, made since to me. Keep in mind that we have a small automotive shop worth of tools and equipment in addition to a 3 bedroom home worth of stuff. I was there when she was making some of the calls and know for certain she was clear about what we had to store when she was calling. We arrived at Lincoln Mini Storage as per her reservation at 9am. That was when we hit the first snag. There was some how a miscommunication and what was supposed to take 7 minutes or so, supposedly, ended up taking just under an hour. Knowing what we came in(A huge Budget Commercial Rental Box Truck) and again being informed of our storage needs, we were escorted to… I am so serious… A storage locker about the size of a bathroom in an apartment with out a shower. What is that, a half bath? I laughed. I honestly thought for a second that the guy had a sense of humor. I am the kind of jerk that would do that to someone, in hopes of making them laugh… Ya, no. Apparently I am one of a kind. Our situation just got real. We already, well my wife already, technically, signed the storage contract, and here we were with a storage locker big enough for… The kitchen items? When I asked if he was serious, further inquiring if he really thought«that big ass truck full of stuff»… was really going to fit into a closet, he responded with«Yes. You will need a bigger locker». Ok? Well the next size was. too small… the next size was… too small. You see the theme going here? Eventually we ended up with 2 of the«biggest» closets they had available in hopes of just unloading the truck that still needed to be returned, after we finished moving in to the apartment, that was to be our residence for the moment. It was agreed we would find somewhere more appropriate AFTER we were done will all the other pressing business. We were able to negotiate a 3 month term based on the lack of adiquit facilities to meet our needs. Now, I am not done. We had to move in. There is almost no room for a vehicle, let alone 2. A truck, a very large truck… Don’t count on it. It is not even possible to turn it around if you wanted to try. Each time we came in, I would have to go thru the front gate, walk all the way around to the back gate and open that one, then back the truck all the way back to where our storage lockers were. And if I lost track of the time. I was locked in all night. Yes, locked in all night.(I found a way around that, which was then a huge disappointment in their security, but still.) The lockers: They were hot, dirty, not just not inhabitable dirty, but yuck, dirty. There were bugs, misc. trash, a hole in the wall into the next storage, and smells that I can’t actually place to anything. They are metal shacks on black top so you can probably imagine the temperatures when the outside temperature was around 100f each day. The assembly of the units did not look like it had been done with much planning or fore site. I still remember looking at the corner of the locker and wondering if when that stick broke by being crashed into accidentally by a large tool box(about 8 or 900lbs) if the whole place would do a domino effect. The ease of access: The gates lock at 7?+/- pm and will not open, even if you are inside, untill the next morning. So if you like me are trying to get as much as you can in at once and don’t notice the time… You are effectively locked in. Yup. I really thought he was eggagerating. Add to that the clock on gate control box was off by 2 hours to my benefit and it didn’t really seem to be a serious concern. Wrong. I got out. Eventually when I discover an emergency gate. An emergency gate that was not even locked from the inside nor the outside. So that ment, there was absolutely nothing keeping people out! OMG. I am ready to forget about this whole event in my life. Hope I can save someone else from making the same mistake.
