Really a big fan. The food always tastes fresh and you get a great value for the money. No longer a buffet(been several years) and the quality is much better than it was 5+ years ago. Friendly staff too.

Have come here only once so far but enjoyed the experience. The staff was great, very friendly & was attentive to our needs. I had the sesame chicken dinner and my boyfriend ordered another chicken plate. The soup was tasty and we liked the chow mein too. I feel like our chicken meals were a bit over sauced but the food was still yummy and we will come back to try something else.

Probably the best Chinese in Lincoln. Don’t let the inside fool you. Their wonton soup is really good(all the fixings in every bowl: dumplings, carrots, lettuce, pork). They are not greasy. The kids love the honey walnut chicken(we love the prawn version of course). They Mongolian beef is also very good, lots of flavor.

My girlfriend took me here because for under $ 10, she said we would get a ton of food, and she said it was pretty good. I don’t even like Chinese food, but I went anyways since I was super hungry. I was pleasantly surprised by the food quality. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken combo, and my girl ordered a dish that had snow peas in it. Both our dishes had fresh veggies… vibrant color, and crunchy. Veggies were not overcooked, which is one thing I normally hate about Chinese food. I received a bowl of hot and sour soup before my meal came out. My plate came with a fried rice and chow mein. I didn’t eat the chow mein, so I can’t comment on those. The soup was good, and the fried rice was soft and fresh, as well as the stuff that went into it. I also got a cream cheese wonton and an egg roll. Both were crunchy and good. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience and have gone back 3 times since then. Each time, I’ve had a great meal. Happy Garden has restored my faith in Chinese Food.

How does this place have 4 stars? The appetizers were alright, and that was it. The meal was very cheap tasting. It tasted like they had a buffet in the back where they just scoop it out as it is ordered. It was ready way too fast. We were very dissatisfied. The service was great, but come on it is not that hard to make decent general Taos chicken!

I absolutely love this Chinese restaurant! Their king beef dinner is delicious. Comes with soup, chicken chow mein, fried rice, egg roll, and wanton. Huge servings I often cannot finish. Very friendly service and reasonable prices.

For Lincoln, this place has decent to go Chinese food… It is quick hot and seems to taste ok. We have been here a few times and the food has been pretty filling. We order a few of the combination plates and share. For less than 9 bucks you get an entrée, rice noodles soup dumpling and an egg roll. It serves its purpose for cheap Chinese food.

I don’t see the 4 – 5 star rating. Just seemed like average Chinese food to me. Breaded chicken with different sauce’s and it’s got a dozen chicken meals on the menu. It’s not a destination for me.

We went for dinner and although the dinner combo is well priced everything tasted the same in a really thick sweet sauce. We ordered three different types of chicken– all of them were the same fried chicken with a slightly different sauce. And none of them were very good. Chow mean was salty. The saving grace was the rice. Luckily the fried rice tasted good. It’s highly unlikely that we will return.

Located on Lincoln Boulevard in a strip mall. We were okay with this place until our last visit. It saddens me to give a negative review to a local business. We were somewhat pleased with this place until our very last visit. Hubby loved the food here. I personally like the other Chinese place in town, but have been coming here since. For me, I think it’s a bit too salty. Too much soy sauce, you can clearly see that in the chow mein, plus it was overcooked. The prices are good and the portions are huge but the quality isn’t there. On one of our occasions, I ordered the salt and pepper shrimp. The worst I’ve ever had! At $ 12, unlike some of the salt and pepper shrimp at other places, theirs was fried in a super thick tempura batter soaked in oil. It was greasy and salty. I should’ve sent it back because it was awful. But, with only four tables filled, how can you complain?! Although the salt and pepper shrimp were terrible, the dinner combos weren’t! The dinner combos are a great value! You have your choice of entrée along with rice, chow mein, soup, egg roll, and fried wonton, for $ 8.25 for dinner. Slightly higher for shrimp. It may be a good bargain, lot more bang than Panda Express. The fried rice is good. The soup is decent. The entrees have been above average. The server who is clearly related to the owner is slowly being more friendlier and attentive than the first time we visited. I’m sad to say that I’m giving this place one star, based on the last of my four visits. We liked Happy Garden on our first visit, and have returned several times since(heck, we may have rated a high three stars), but had an awful, isolated experience and I will never return. Can’t and don’t want to go into detail! End of story. I would recommend you give them a try, the dinner and lunch combos are a great deal. My experience is probably the one and only time that this happened. May have been an off day.

Thanks to Unilocal I found this place! Very quant little restaurant off of the old highway 65 in downtown Lincoln. Came on New Year’s Day around 7, not many folks but the service was a little slow. Cashew chicken was very good but pretty salty, chow mein and fried rice was spot on. We also had honey walnut shrimp, it was amazing! Overall, I definitely recommend you try happy garden. Cheap and good quality. Sorry Lincoln Chinese, you can’t compare with happy garden.

First time trying this place. It was so good I was very surprised. The wonton soup was excellent. The timing was also so good that I couldn’t help myself to second and thirds. We also had the beef and broccoli. The broccoli was very fresh. I definitely will be back soon.

The food was great! The portion was huge and my fried rice heated up nicely the day after(not hard and gross like some places). We had the sweet and sour chicken, the shrimp fried rice and the pork fried rice. There was a lot of meat in both of the fried rice dishes and a ton of sweet and sour chicken(we could have easily shared one portion). We will be back!

Fatty fried meat in a sweet sauce with noodles! SIGNMEUP!!! So it was New Years night and we were craving chinese food. So figured we would get some takeout before it got late and I/we got too drunk to go get it. We ordered Broccoli Beef, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Orange Chicken, Beef Fried Rice and chicken chowmein. This would feed a group of 8. How many were there of us? 4. Dont judge! It was fantastic. Everyone was happy. You know, because it is Happy Garden… waca waca waca… I’ll be here all week folks! The lady giving us our food was super friendly and the prices were great. $ 38 for five items! Huge portions too!(thumbs up)

Standard Americanized Chinese food, similar to Panda Express. They give really big portions of sugary, fried, heavy food. I personally did not like it, but I grew up in San Jose(Bay Area) so I know what authentic Chinese food tastes like. However, if you’re born and raised in Lincoln, this food probably would taste really good– so I am giving it 3 stars. Prices are also good. Again, portions are enormous.
