Very nice guys here! They were fast, polite, and very helpful. I came in with a bad battery that needed to be replaced. It only took about half an hour once a bay opened. A great experience overall.

Great experience with this location. Drove in, they had the tires I needed, and I was in and out with 4 new tires in about an hour. Eddie at the counter was great, he showed me all the options available and discussed the pros and cons with me so I could make the decision. Would recommend this shop without reservation and would/​will definitely use them again when needed.

I came to get new tires back in 2014 and I bought extended warranty on all tires (just in case). The service is great, manager always have taken care of my issue. Vehicle had a flat on Sunday and I had my truck tow to nearby Goodyear on Wabash and 18^th (never again) and had my flat supposedly fix but in the end they couldn’t so try to sell me another tire. I said nope and brought it back to Cassidy where they pointed out to me that Goodyear did try to fix it but did a horrible job and Goodyear rip the bead of my tire. Thank you Cassidy for always taking care of my tire (s) need.

These guys have bailed me out 3 different times. One time I had a blow out on the Edens on my way to work on a –10 degree day. I rode the rim the Cassidy. They changed my tire in 20 minutes so that I could get to work on time and didn’t try to sell me anything else. Every time I have gone they have given me honest advice and never tried to up sell me. Plus they are very friendly. I would not hesitate to return or refer my friends and family to this location

I needed refilled in nitrogen in my tires. It’s not easy to find places that have nitrogen. I did a google search and caught someone else’s review and determined Cassidy had nitrogen. I stopped in 10 minutes later, and my tires were filled for me very quickly — no questions asked.

Only had one encounter with this place but it was enough lose trust in it. Came by to have a nail removed from my tire and the gentleman behind the desk asked to see it. After taking a quick glance at it, he determined it was too far to the edge to be removed and that I would have to have the tire replaced completely. I was suspicious of the diagnosis and got a second opinion at a different shop. That shop removed the nail and repaired the tire in about 25 minutes for a great price.
I would be weary of trusting Cassidy Tire Co.

I’ve been to this establishment twice. Both times failed to help me. The first time I went there they were too busy to see me for one mind you it was 9:15 AM on a Wednesday. Second time I went in and it was 3:30 PM on Thursday, the guy behind the desk tells me he can’t help me «he’s swamped» I asked him to take a look at the tire and give me a idea of how much it would cost. So because the tire had a nail that was close to the edge of the treads he said the tire cannot be fixed and I would have to buy a new tire. Mind you The screw was in between a tread and not in the side wall of the tire. I ended up going to another shop which they patch the tire from the inside and told me that the other guy was just trying to sell me a tire. I refused to pass judgment on my first experience that’s why gave them a second chance, and it ended up being a waste of my time again. I would suggest any other place but this one.

These guys are amazing! I was recommended to Cassidy tire by Norm’s Auto and have been extremely happy with my service. They have fair pricing and Gunther, the store manager is very helpful. I am so grateful for these guys. They insisted that I buy the tire warranty for potholes, nails, etc. and I am so happy I did! In the past month I have hit two potholes that popped my tire. This protection plan saved me a ton of money!
Honestly, I was a little worried going in there with the other reviews I saw, but my experience was exceptional and my end price was more than reasonable.

Cassidy in L’Wood is an awesome operation. Gunther, the manager is very helpful and unlike many of others in the car repair business, he won’t sell you what you don’t need or rip you off. I’ve bought tires for three different cars from here, that should say enough about them

Excellent service and HONEST what a thrill I went to Costco and was told I needed to get 4 new tires for my AWD (when only one was leaking). When my husband said we just needed one they started saying at costco that I needed to at least replace two on the front axel.
We came to Cassidy and they patched it for $ 30.00. I had even called ahead to ask what the price was for new tire.
I would recommend them.

Over charges. I came here before for a same reason, a flat tire. This time the manager charged more than usual.

I went to these guys to fix a tire that picked up a screw. This was my first time here so I did not know what to expect. Gunther is the manager and is a very friendly and knowledgeable guy. My tires were old so I wound up needing two new tires. Gunther and his crew went out of their way to make sure I was happy with the new tires. They actually ordered two different size tires so I could see how they fit my custom BMW rims. They put one of each on my rims so I could see the profile and fit. I went with the larger tire as it looked way better than the factory sized tire. They even double checked to clearance once the tires were on. Very thorough.
I can’t speak well enough of my experience with these guys as Gunther has a solid crew working for him who really know their stuff. These guys seem to care about their work and it shows on how they treat their customers. Plus the kicker was that the tire price he gave me was very competitve and lower than another shop. And there was no hard sell on extended warranties. These guys have earned my business and i will be back.

Come here to get my bosses car checked at from time to time. They are pretty friendly and I don’t wait around to be helped, and the car is usually really pretty quickly!

My wife needed 4 new tires on her CRV. Got quoted a fair price (in line with another shop). She showed up by appointment, was given a lift to the local Barnes & Noble because the front end also needed alignment, a 90 minute job overall. They called her when it was ready, then picked her up. Totally smooth execution, no hassles.

Got a flat off the expressway and had tow truck take me here since I had til then been a Cassidy customer with my cars. After they looked at it, manager said the tire was not repairable and then went nuts on a calculator and said we have a special so it’ll be 1,000!!! I said what??? He said oh our special is to replace all 4 tires. I told him I paid $ 175 for good tires just recently, nope he said nothing he can do. I had the one tire replaced for $ 250! When I checked the price elsewhere $ 180, c’mon!
I am no longer a Cassidy customer, they may have made a extra hundred profit from me this time but very shortsighted long term loss of a good customer.

Tried to sell me 3 tires for 350!!!
I bailed, went to wal-​mart, got them for 150.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!
I stopped in with a nail in my tire. They told me the tire could not be repaired and said the cost would be $ 243.00 for a new tire. I knew that because of the location of the nail the tire could be repaired. (I am guessing that because I am a woman they thought I didn’t know any better). I left and went down the street to a different shop and they charged me TEN DOLLARS to repair the tire.
Cassidy Tire Co tried to scam me. Steer clear of this place.

This is a tough review to write. Some things about my experience were excellent; others really made me go wonder what I’d gotten myself into. So, I will break my experience here into manageable chunks.
ACTUALLY PURCHASING THE TIRES AND GETTING THEM ON THE CAR — 5 stars.
Gunther told me it would be an hour. I sat on a plastic lawn chair outside the office and watched a technician install the new tires in 40 minutes. Getting out in less than the expected time is always a bonus. Besides, the view from the lawn chair is that of the Touhy/​Cicero Avenues intersection, a place that could easily be added to the «Highways to Hell» TV show. Yuck.
CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRICING — 2 stars. Herein lies a tale.
I was referred to this location by Norm of Norm’s Auto Service in Chicago. My two front tires were in such poor shape that they were turning into pancakes. The job couldn’t be delayed any longer.
I called Gunther at Cassidy on a Friday afternoon, said I needed two tires, and I was referred by Norm. He was all cheerful and friendly, and talked about what a great guy Norm is. (I agreed). I told him I had an old car, which I’d probably replace before long, and I preferred retreads. Gunther told me, oh no, they don’t recommend that, nobody does that anymore, and he’d fix me up with a perfectly good set of tires for $ 185.00. Fine, okay. I tell him when day and time I’d like to come, and he says, OK.
I found the location just fine. And saw in all the signage above the office and bays, they sell Retreads. Just sayin’.
When I arrived at the arranged day and time, Gunther had no idea that I had called. Well, that’s okay, they’re busy. Did they have tires for my car? Yes. He opened a folder and said, «No problem. $ 215.00». I said, in my sweet and mild way (I am not being sarcastic at all here), «you told me $ 185.00 on Friday.» Gunther frowns, looks down, writes something with a pencil on the folder, and says, okay, we can do it for $ 185.00.
So my first impression is, Gunther saw a middle-​aged woman come in and figured he could rip me off, in the way that many auto repair professionals take advantage of women. But he backed off quickly.
Then he asks, where’s the car? I point where it’s parked on his lot. He goes out and looks, comes back, and says, it’ll be about an hour to replace the two rear tires. I say, it’s the front tires. Oh yeah, he says, the front tires, and then he says something about, I must have looked at it from the wrong end. (???) Gentle Reader, my confidence in Cassidy Tire was heading south quickly. Believe me when I say, those front tires were so low, it looked like the car was on its knees.
Anyway, I agree. I go to sit outside, and in 40 minutes, the car’s ready and I go in to pay. As I pull out my wallet, I notice a small plastic card container on the counter, the kind that fits in wallets, and there’s a car key next to it. I recognize that the car key is from the same make as my car. I say to Gunther, who’s is this? He says, oh, that’s been sitting there for a while. We don’t know who it belongs to. (Yes. Really. I am not making this up.)
Gentle Reader, at this point, I have a suspicion that it is mine. I open the card holder, and sure enough, there’s my library card, my AAA membership card, my BlueCross/​BlueShield card, all emblazoned with my name in capital letters. Gunther didn’t know who it belonged to? Whose would it be, except a customer’s? Nobody could be bothered to open it and see a name on every single card contained therein (no credit cards, by the way.)
Now Reader, it’s my bad for misplacing this. I think it must have fallen out of my purse when I dug out the car keys so they could move the car closer to a bay. But to let the card holder sit there, without looking at it? Gentle Reader, wouldn’t you be the least bit curious? But Gunther and his staff seem to have a distinct lack of curiosity.
So, the tires work. They haven’t fallen off. That’s all to the good. But Gunther, who handles the desk, is something else. He takes advantage of women by overcharging them; perhaps doesn’t know the front end of a car from the back end; and can look at a card holder on his desk for 40 minutes without exerting energy or curiosity to see if maybe, just maybe, it belongs to one of his customers. What’s up with all that? It’s all weird and borderline creepy.
I don’t think I’d go back.

I just had a flat tire on the highway off-​ramp, that LUCKILY was close by to Cassidy. I ran down the off-​ramp, in heels, into their store. Gunther not only was completely calming, but he immediately sent one of his talented technicians to help me with the tire change.
The technician changed the tire quickly and knew exactly what he was doing. I would have NEVER figured out all the crazy switches and knobs on the car. It was flawless and effortless.
Right now they are fixing the original tire that has a huge shard of steel wedged into it. They assured me that they would fix it for me, no problem, and make the car look like new.
They were professional and caring– which is rare in the auto world! Thank you Cassidy and Gunther!!!
