no hot water to shower. No sign warning you that there is no hot water. Go to gym during lunch and forced to shower in ice bath or go back to work sweaty. Next day called back and they said one shower at a time will provide hot water. Worked out and shower was ice cold again. Call back next day and they say they can’t fund a plumber. Very frustrating and dishonest ownership. The staff is really not at fault.

Good gym but because they won’t fix the water fountain to flow at regulation pressure I’m gonna give two stars.

I guess Retro doesn’t really need a review but my Dukedom seems rock solid at this point with over 130 check ins and their operation works well for me, so why not? Retro is probably just about what you expect from what you see — a modest, loud, lowest-common-denominator commercial operation — but this location is well set up and, for the most part, well run. In my experience, weekday late PM and weekend mornings, you can always find a cardio machine of your liking(don’t forget several of each type in the«movie» room) and with very little wait can get in on any machine or weight apparatus you want. They keep the gym and the locker room(pretty commercial/sparse) well maintained and clean. Machines do not stay broken or out of adjustment for long(but past time to get that water fountain control fixed…). The staff are friendly and responsive — mostly just joking around and trying to sell smoothies etc from the little bar. They have trainers and people seem to use them. They have few/limited classes and if that is important to you, best to check that aspect out before signing up. The clientele is a mixture of suburban folks with a smattering of college people and Jersey gym mooks. All things considered, for me, Retro provides a very cheap gym option that covers all the necessary aspects well.
