In over 300 years the Lincroft inn has served the masses. During my fourty years of going there it is has ups and downs. Right now it’s on the up. First, they’re happy hour is untouchable. Robin the bartender is the best there is in the business hands-down. She can handle over 50 people at the bar and run the grill at the same time. No one waits move than two minutes for a cocktail. Kudos to her! The food is well above par at a reasonable rate. If you looking for steak you’re going to the wrong place. If you look for seafood, pasta and American fair you hit it on the head. For starters their shrimp cocktail cannot be touched by anyone. Their salads are fresh and individual prepared. Skip the soup. Other than that, everything else on the menu is well above par at a fair and reasonable price. Take good look at the wine list. There’s something there for everyone. if for some reason you have any problem with anything, ask to speak with Denise Wolf. Being the executive chef and manager, she will go out of her way to make you satisfied.

There was god awful service. Our order was messed up several times and in the end we did not get what we ordered. And finally the waitress messed up the bill. 10 out of 10 would not recommend.

Better now than it was a year ago, but the dirty and dingy setting is the same. Hey LI, you have a captive audience. Spend some money and bring the place out of the 1970s. And please ditch the disgusting plastic covered menus so I can read what your selling.

The salmon was fantastic. The service was nice and fast. We enjoyed the historic ambiance. This is a nice tablecloth resturant.

We went here with family because my parents love this place. We weren’t disappointed. The service was friendly and quick. I had osso bucco and it was great.

Great local restaurant owned by locals. I haven’t had a bad meal in the 18 yrs. I have been frequenting the Inn. They hosted a great family Halloween arts and crafts event last week. If you like good food and a great bar atmosphere this is a great place to go. If you want to have a nice dinner in the restaurant section instead of the bar it’s a great option as well. There large room is available for larger events corporate, weddings, showers and or larger family events. Staff and management are friendly and there to make your experience enjoyable.

Read the poor reviews and hoped for better things. Staff was friendly so promising possibilities, however seemed under staffed as was a slow go for food. My wife had the grilled shrimp salad but they forgot to add the dressing? Either that or it was the lightest dressing in the world. Sister had the tilapia however was below par, only had about a 3rd. I had the shrimp wrap, was a little fishy to my liking. Prices are high, staff is friendly, however the dust and dirt are high as well. This is in a great area with a huge client base, and if they implemented changes based on all the bad reviews they could make a killing. Right now it seems they’re just getting by and the food is a key indicator of it.

I wish I had read the reviews on Unilocal before going to the Lincroft Inn again. The folks who run this establishment need to take a step back and reevaluate their food service. We’ve seen the Lincroft inn go from fairly good food to fairly bad food over the years. Before going any further, I’m talking about the bar fare only. We ordered two items off the menu. 1st was a hot pastrami panini($ 12.00) and 2nd was a grilled chicken breast with fresh mozzarella and roasted peppers.($ 11.00) the hot pastrami was cold, the cheese unmelted, a smidgen of sauerkraut, and Russian dressing that had time to completely soak through the bread… ewwww. The grilled chicken was slightly better, it was at least as described except next time they should write on the menu that they each come with undercooked, not quite hot French fries. This after a 35 minute wait. Um, yum. Two glasses of house wine at $ 7.00 per. Two glasses of soda at $ 2.25 each brought our bill to $ 42.00 I left a $ 50.00 and called it even. I’m not one who thinks servers should be stiffed because their employers can’t bring themselves to stay true to form. I’m thinking absentee owner(s) here.

A shame. The Lincroft Inn has so much history, dating back to the 1800’s when it gained appeal as a stopover for stagecoach runs to New York. Have been here several times– both to the restaurant, and the bar. This place is tired, old, and done. The menu is routine; service is below nonchalant, and lazy. Food is suspect. On a recent visit — I ordered a burger, cooked medium, with a specific request for a side of steak fries to share, while my wife ordered the braised beets with goat cheese and walnut salad… we were seated at the bar. The burger placed before me was the most overcooked piece of meat I have ever been served, the beet salad came sans walnuts, and tasted stale, we got shoestring fries. LTO, were wilted, and borderline mushy. As one reviewer remarked… «Expect to be seated quickly»… yes… that is likely the case, as most people have already learned about this place I suspect it will always have its smattering of locals who feel comfortable, as its«their place», for me it’s forever done.
