I don’t know how this diner went from being one of the best to being one of the worst in a matter of a few short years. The food and service used to always be good. I came here on Saturday night with my family and everything was terrible. For starters when you have to ask the waitress for multiple things four times that is not so good. I can deal with that though. The reason for the one star is the quality of the food. My wife and I got food poisoning. I believe it to be from the salads because that is the only thing the both of us had that was the same. My recommendation if you don’t want to spend 3 or 4 days in the bathroom is to stay away from this place. It really has gone down hill and Is a big disappointment.

This is the best diner in the area! Huge portions, reasonable prices, and friendly service. Clean diner too!

Waitresses are great, under appreciated at that, but management is cheap. My food quality, and quantity has been downgraded.

The food is always pretty good but I usually either order a cheese burger or eggs so it’s hard to screw that up I but I can’t stand the angry little man who runs the place,

What a disappointment. We’ve gone here over the years. It’s decent Diner food but last weekend was frustrating. We figured that we would order take out since we had things to do around the house. We started ordering and everything was fine until we attempted to order my daughters grilled cheese. The woman taking the order told my wife that«They Do Not Offer Kids Meals for Takeout.» I don’t understand, we were ordering $ 100 worth of burgers and appetizers and they basically told us that we couldn’t feed our daughter. I have no clue why they have such a stupid rule or why they would even turn away business but as a result I had to drive all the way north to the SouthBay Dinner and give them $ 110 worth of take out business because the Lindencrest Diner refused us.

They should have an option for no stars because 1 star is too much for this place. The waitress didn’t know how to work the juke box, the juke box ate our quarters. The waitress barely spoke English, we asked about the specials and she just listed them nonchalantly with no explanation. My sisters meal came with a soup she said she wanted fries instead and the waitress just said no, you can’t have them and continued to take everyone else’s order so that my sister finally had to be like hey i want fries. After the food came they never came back to see if we wanted more coffee or needed anything. When the bill came I was shocked, my omelette which only consisted of Swiss cheese and turkey was $ 11. When we complained they were unwilling to do anything to reduce the price, they said that the prices are what they are and to add turkey to an omelette is $ 4 extra. I asked them to show me where on the menu it tells me that it is $ 4 to add turkey to an omelette, they said it just is we can’t put everything on the menu.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. The food is almost always good but can sometimes be off. If you complain the owner gets so personally offended and argues with you that nothing is wrong with their food. All the waitresses stand around and talk instead of checking up on their tables. The girl gave us our food and didn’t come back to our table until she gave us the check; she did not get a good tip. Part of your job as a waiter is to attend to your table, check throughout the customers stay that everything is good, ask if they need anything, refill drinks not stand and talk like your in high school in between classes. And when you get to go orders the food is literally thrown together it sucks because I like to go but this is not a place you want to order out from. The little short guy with glasses is one of the owners and he needs a serious reality check. Like get your waitresses in order, stop taking such offense to negative feedback and grow up.

I would give this diner a 5 star review for food, but recently had a very bad experience. I ordered breakfast, my favorite delish egg white omelet with toast well done. When it arrived my waitress asked if it was well done enough and I agreed. When I opened the pieces to check for butter, there was orange marmalade already on the toast. EWWWW. The only way for that to happen is someone had it at a table and spread it on. My complaint to the owner was met with a smirk and half grin prompting me to say that I didn’t think it was funny. Why would you have that attitude? It was explained away as an error by a server at the counter. I should have called the board of health right then but it was a Sunday. They didn’t charge for my replacement food, but I’m not sure I will go back.

Never again. I was here a few months back and it was ok, food ok but service or both nothing amazing. I come here for dinner tonight and the place was busy, fine, I got a small booth right off, no troubles. The problem came with the service being really slow and pretty unattentive, although the waitress was nice enough. The real problem came when I ate my meal and seemingly almost choked or had something briefly sticking sort of in the back of my throat, later, apparently, to be coughed out, a tiny piece of plastic, seed, I dunno but it seemed to be from a drink I had here, in the coffee, or the food. I cannot be certain, and this could’ve been a coincidence but I doubt it since it occurred right after I finished my extraordinarily lackluster meal. Nobody even came over to check, the waitress disappeared never reappearing with my bill while I coughed and choked in the meantime, no water refill, no nothing. Luckily I was ok but it was a scary and angering experience. Also everybody else that works here walks around staring weirdly angrily at the customers or just has an air of weirdness about ‘em. Just wait till someone nearly chokes to death on whatever it is you’re dropping in the food and see what happens.
Summation: the food isn’t all that good and considering the above nightmare situation, including the service, I would never, ever eat here again and would never, ever ever, recommend anyone else come here either. Someone who works at a local Dunkin Donuts told me later on that the only diner in the area he recommended(or nearby) was the Massapequa Diner on Sunrise Highway. If only I had known this ahead of time. I don’t like this area of L.I. anyway and never did. The only reason I even came out here as last time was to visit Looney Tunes Record Shop. That, at least, was worth the trip. Stay FAR away from this wretched excuse for a diner.

I hadn’t been back to this diner too much in the past couple of years since my last review had been written, but the other night my girlfriend and I stopped in for a bite. The staff was very pleasant as per usual, and the food was excellent. I think they’ve stepped up their game, it’s a solid diner as I had said in my previous review. But I am bumping them up from a 3 to a 4. As Steve Brule says«If 3 is the best». I will definitely be going back more often now.

I went for what I remember being the best Greek salad, found a great suggestion on the dinner special list. So I took the salad to go for the next day, only to find french dressing. What a disappointment!

This diner always seems clean and the waitstaff is always really friendly. The food is decent Greek diner food. I usually order breakfast which is good. Just scrambled eggs and whatnot. I have had their Souvlaki and Gyros in the past. Both were pretty good. I’m not crazy about their Tzatziki sauce though. It tastes like there’s something missing. The hot open roast beef sandwich is enough to eat there and to take some home for lunch the next day. Portions are huge, as with most Greek diners. They also have a very good gluten-free dish called Chicken Ala Thenia(or something like that). It’s not diet in any way because it’s smothered in mozzarella cheese, but it IS gluten-free and quite good.

I moved back to Long Island on 10⁄1 and the Lindencrest has started to become my daily breakfast joint. Eggs are always perfect and the homemade challah french toast is to die for. They are quite casual and now allow me to just grab whatever booth Id like when u walk in. The waitstaff knows my orders typically before I have to say a word. The establishment is also probably the cleanest diner I’ve ever seen. Check em out!

I went with my wife to dinner at Lindencrest diner. I do not usually eat at diners since they are mostly overpriced and have at best pedestrian food. We were seated quickly at this diner and were brought our hot bread with butter a welcome sight. We then ordered two dinners which came with soup and salad not either or as most other diners have. The matzo ball soup was excellent with big chunks of chicken in it. The salad was large and very tasty. Our main courses were both very good although my lasagna was aboutt average. We were also given a free beverage. We then ordered dessert which in my case was a piece of strawberry shortcake. This piece was HUGE and was enough to fill 2 people. Service was excellent and quite responsive. The price to value ratio was above average for this type of restaurant. All in all this was an excellent experience and I look forward to returning in the near future despite the distance from our home.

The staff and prices weren’t great. But the food… was amazing. I ordered a Philly Cheese Wrap. Let’s start with the french fries it comes with. They are phenomenal. Crisp, buttery, & delicious. The wrap was a little bit on the greasy side but it was soooo yummy. The portion sizes here are GIGANTIC and I left feeling soooo stuffed. I didn’t eat for the rest of the day(& I came here at 2pm!). I would recommend Lindencrest Diner.

This diner is OK. Nothing special. The day I went there were a lot of young girls working who were getting yelled out for not refilling customers waters and for standing around. The boss looked embarrassed.

Was visiitin some family in Lindenhurst and we all decided to go to for some dinner. This is your typical diner with the typical diner atmosphere. I got a Greek salad which was pretty good for a salad. I also got it customized with some other toppings and the waiter was happy to do it. My family and I left here feeling satisfied. I should ad that I went here with one of my loudest and most obnoxious relatives. They were happy to accommodate this person with nothing but smiles.
