Went here after buying a Living Socail coupon for it and WOW. Looks unassuming from the outside and then you walk in and it looks even more unassuming. We went on a Friday night at 8pm and the place was empty sans two or three tables. Immediately I thought the worst; I couldn’t have been more wrong. I got the combination torta, my girlfriend got chicken huaraches and we split a tamale. All three were some of the best things I’ve ever tasted, Mexican food or otherwise. They came out piping hot and we each took home over half because of how big the portions were. The free nachos(actual nachos with cheese, refried beans, and salsa) were the icing on the cake. Service could have been better for the amount of people there but that didn’t take away from the experience at all. We spent $ 40 total on two entrees, an app, and 3 drinks. We will be back frequently. A real hidden gem. We’ve also been to La Esperanza down the street, and honestly this place blows it out of the water.

This place was not for me. I prefer La Esperanza from the apps to the drinks. My blue margarita tasted like medicine and my appetizer-quesadillas-was as big as a pizza turnover and messy. Due to all parking being full at La Esperanza, we chose to try this restaurant.

The good: Food is VERY reaaonably priced and portion sizes are huge. The complimentary table chips are excellent(even have a dusting of cheese), as are the nachos. Salsa, excellent. I found the service to be good as well(caveat below), but we came here for lunch and it was pretty slow. Overall, I think $ 40 bucks(with LivingSocial deal we paid $ 21) for enough food to feed two adults and a child TWICE is very reasonable. The bad: Ordered the Cubano on another’s review and found it unsavory. I could only get a few bites in. Meat was grisly, sausage tasted like hot dogs, and it was so big it was hard to eat. especially with the tough meat. Having said that, I am not a huge fan of Mexican steak, so perhaps for another it might be good. Same with the churros. They looked amazing, but were filled with some kind of custard reminiscent of instant vanilla pudding. Save the filling, they were great. I’ve just never had them served that way. Also, no flatware was ever given. I chalked that up to a cultural norm, but be aware that it’s not an oversight. The ugly: I don’t like being charged for bottled water if I ask for water UNLESS I am given an option. I would have ordered a soft drink over paying for bottled water. Additionally, I was overcharged($ 8 for nachos when on the menu they were $ 6) which I didn’t discover until I was home. So check your tab carefully. Not to quibble, but I loathe feeling deceived… cheap food or not. I felt there was definitely some upsell happening that I didn’t buy into, or otherwise I may have perceived it as accidental. Overall, shortcomings aside, I bought another LS deal when I came home to give it another try, as my kid really seemed to enjoy it and I wanted to try the Margarita specials. I also got some burritos al pastore for takeout that are yet to be eaten, so I will update my review if they’re above or below expectations. Check your bill, refuse bottled water, avoid the bisteca, and I think you’ll have an enjoyable, VERY affordable meal here. If the bill comes clean next time I’ll easily update ny review to 4 stars for value alone!

Food is excellent and authentic. Service is great. Everyone is super friendly. Felt like I was eating comfortably like I do at home. I go on Tuesday’s because you can get any kind of Taco for a dollar, more bang for your buck. Also they serve any flavored margaritas for 5. You can’t beat that. They even have mojitos. Naturally made drinks like Tarmarindo, Jamaicas, Horchatas for the kids. Their food and environment are definitely worth the trip. Definetly Top 5.

Went here for a late lunch one day. Décor was nice and staff was friendly enough but there was a bit of a communication barrier with our waiter. We started off with the chicken quesadilla which was extremely soggy and dripping liquid. It also had lettuce and tomato and what tasted like possibly mayonnaise on it, none of which was in the menu description. It was kind of gross to be perfectly honest. For my meal I had the fish tacos, again everything was soggy like the fish was made that morning and sat in a warming pan of liquid until I ordered it. On top of that it didn’t even come with any sides. I can’t remember exactly what my wife ordered as a meal but I know she didn’t like it. Unfortunately we left hungry because neither of us bothered to finish our meals. We might give it another chance someday but our first visit made it hard to ever want to go back.

This may have been the worst dining experience my wife and I ever encountered. The irony of this place is that the food is good. Went there with my wife for CincoDeMayo. Service was beyond terrible. The only staff member in the place that seemed to have any sense of customer awareness was an employee who was doing balloon art to entertain the patrons. My wife and I ordered a cocktail and a soft drink. It took 25 minutes for the server to bring the drinks. We then ordered our entrees, my wife’s was brought out, and after another 30 minutes I had not gotten my meal. We have never«dined and dashed» in our entire life, nor have I not tipped. We walked right out of the restaurant. We watched at least three other tables do the same thing. The only good thing I can say is my wife said her food was good. I wouldn’t be able to say, since the restaurant never brought the complete order. No sign of management – just a terrible experience. Taco Bell would be a much better choice.

I have officially become a Tejas Grill II regular! I had a chance to visit once again last night. Thursdays are generally a quiet night here, so I’ve never had to wait for a table. Everything is so fresh and delicious and prepared so consistently, you really can’t go wrong with any selction on the menu! The tortilla soup is amazing — loaded with tortillas and queso fresco. The broth is perfection. The portion is so large that it is a meal in and of itself. I wish I had known the sheer volume of the dish before I had ordered it as my appetizer, but no complaints. My entrée(shrimp veracruzana) will make for a delicious lunch this afternoon. The service is friendly and welcoming. It’s clear that then staff work their butts off in that place, and it does not go unnoticed by the patrons. The guacamole, always a staple at my table, is deliciously prepared(always a good sign) and the chips are perfectly salted. My personal favorite is the chicken in the chipotle cream sauce, the true name of which sadly escapes me. They offer margharita specials on Monday and a taco special on Tuesday, according to their signage, but I haven’t had a chance to visit for either of those nights, but I fully intend to! Honestly, I much prefer Tejas Grill II to La Esparanza. Check it out… please!

I really wanted to like this place because I have been looking for good Mexican restaurant. Unfortunately this is not the place. Service was terrible. Very slow and server did not understand my question about the menu. I ordered some chicken tacos and chicken tasted off. Then I ordered the Mole Plabano — The mole sauce was very good but when I got to the center of the chicken there were actual ice crystals in the meat. Obviously they are microwaving food and not doing a good job. I could not finish my meal after this.

While out shopping in Lindenwold we passed this Mexican restaurant and decided to stop in, and I’m so glad we did. The food was delicious. I posted pictures of our meals that we ordered which were chicken tacos, and steak tacos, and as an appetizer, nachos. Everything that we ate was absolutely delicious and so incredibly fresh tasting. I would advise you to stop in here if you like Mexican food.

NOLORECOMIENDO!!!

I was a little turned off with the huge menu but it did open my eyes to learning about new dishes and ideas for myself. Me and my foodie buddy tried several dishes like the tacos and sopes which are like tacos but made from fresh masa and pan fried. I finished my dinner which a sandwhich called Cubana and honestly it was an experience all of its own. Steak chicken ham mayo fried egg with cream avacado and yes, fucking boss
