Excellent American foods, I love there combo and bacon cheeseburgers. Its not greasy as you would expect. This review is based on how good the food is. If I have anything negative to say about this place its the actual dining areas are a bit outdated and could use an upgrade. also the parking lot is stupid but still doesn’t deter me from having lunch there.

Bono’s Beef and Bono’s Pub — they are in the same building. If you are in the Pub, you walk through the breezeway to Bono’s Beef to get food. If you are in Bono’s Beef, you walk through the breezeway to get into the Pub with your food and tack on a beer. Either way you look at it, these two share the same address and should have the same reviews. That said, the food was really nice at Bono’s Beef/Pub. We ordered a grilled chicken sandwich(nice marinade and sandwich), cheese fries(slathered in cheese), a Maxwell Street Polish(add-ons make for a nice sandwich), chicken strips(moist chicken and crunchy breading), and mozzarella sticks(nice thick sticks) … and all the food was good. Had the BBQ(smoky) and Ranch(peppery) sauces and they were also nice — tangy and just a bit of zing so you’ll remember you had a topping. Don’t usually give out five stars but this place rocks the food side. When you enter the Beef side it looks just like any other kind of roast beef place — a number of booths, a counter up front where you order, a TV on the wall — you get the picture. If you go through the door on your right, you’ll enter the Pub area — full service bar on the back wall, lots of tables and TVs and a couple of video games. The center room often has live music — with the bar and pub working on either side. Never been here for the live stuff, but the food and pub sides go together very nicely. I checked into the Pub but spent my time in the Beef — split personality. You can eat on either side, but I assume the pub is off limits to the little people… nice way to separate them. Nice staff… we ordered and forgot two things. They gave them to us anyway with no charge or rolling of the eyes. They have a nice laid back staff that gets the food out. The food isn’t prepared a day ahead of time and waiting on the railing… they make stuff pretty fresh and that was a nice touch. Small wait and very nice food. Clean yet old place. Come here for the food and not the décor. Pottys were also nice — had wild cherry soap in the Unisex bathroom… old fixtures but everything works just how it should. This place is a winner. We’ll be back.

Ordered the WOW beef since Johnnys in Westmont has closed. Sandwich is VERY dry. Beef is VERY grissly. I have been here before a couple years back and food was good. Must have new management, vendors. Will not be back.

Good find! Was looking for a place in the neighborhood and came across this on Unilocal.Drinks were reasonably priced, maybe needed a bit more alcohol in them. Good TV’s to watch the games and plenty of space to find a table. The bar food was really great. Go for the Wow Wow Beef which is really and Italian with melted cheese. Ask for a side of peppers and get the side of fries. Needs up update on the décor, too much crap and signs.

Over-priced for the atmosphere, service is slow at best, downright hostile and uncomfortable at worst. I went recently for an evening of live music, and felt uneasy at the aggressive nature of their bouncer/busser, who seemed to be angry with everyone simply for being in the bar. There is a patio area in the back, which was rather nice when staff member(s) weren’t trying to «clear away» the drinks we were still drinking. Customer service seems to be low on their list of priorities. Also, I read some negative reviews on this site recently that have since been removed, so who knows what they’re trying to hide. Save your money and go somewhere else.

So my my friends and I decided to have a «Dive Bar» night in the area in which we live. This one was added to our list at the last minute, and I must say it is far from«DIVE» in fact, I regret living in the area for over 4 years and just now paying a visit. We stopped in on a Friday night. It wasn’t crowded, the bar was but we found a table close to the bar. The bartender waited on us as well as the crowd AT the bar and was very attentive hence being the only one doing all the work. While we were there we ordered a meat lovers pizza and it was AWESOME! I definitely want to come back here again to eat and drink beer because it has a nice vibe going on inside and just unique compared to other bars in the area. Great Beer, Great Service, Great Pizza = Happy Me! Yes, I’ll be back… hopefully sooner rather than later.

Driven by this place a thousand times and finally stopped in. Soo glad we did! It was a late weeknight and we were famished having helped our son move. Bono’s was the perfect ending to a long day. I had the«Wow Beef» sandwich(Italian beef with melted cheese) and my husband had a cheeseburger. Both were delicious. They have a very good beer selection and the drafts come with a chilled glass — our favorite. The staff was friendly and the prices fair, who could ask for more? Treat yourself to this little gem — it’s worth a visit.

Great sports bar! Definitely has the sports bar atmosphere with dark lighting, high barstools, tv screens everywhere, crazy/random décor etc. What’s also great about this place is that they have a separate«fast food» area to sit at if you want some quiet or you’re with your kids! I came here on a Sunday with my boyfriend because our usual bar didn’t have the game we wanted. Luckily, Bono’s did! They were super nice and when we asked to change the channel to our game, they generously did. Sundays the special is a bucket of 5 bottles of corona for $ 15! The food special was wings for 45 cents. So much better than the usual 50 cent. It makes a big difference.(They also have specials everyday of the week) The wings were juicy and full of meat.(Unlike those chain wing restaurants) The sauce wasn’t too hot or wasn’t too bland. They also give you a hugee side of bleu cheese or ranch(for those condiment lovers). On sundays during the halftime of the bears game, they come out with free pizza! They came out with about 6 – 712″ thin crust pizzas all with different toppings. The only reason I give a 3 instead of a 4 is that the pizza wasn’t great at all. Very dry, no sauce, very thin, barely any cheese; But what do you expect when it’s free! I just hope the pizza isn’t like that when you order it at regular price.
