The menu is creative and includes a wide selection for all appetites. The food has been excellent, although a bit pricey for the portions. Still, quality was very high, and is worth going there for dinner or lunch. Staff has been rude and dismissive on a couple of occasions, but has also been friendly and attentive on others, so you take your chances. One of the better restaurants in terms of food in Litchfield.

I’m new to the area and decided to check out At the Corner for lunch. It has a great location on the green in Litchfield. The menu was interesting and they have a great beer selection. The food was good but was expecting a little more quality for the price. The service was a bit rushed as well. Overall a nice spot worth checking out.

Not bad, but as the stars suggest, we’ve experienced better right here in Litchfield. At the Corner has a nice vibe and a clean, bright setting. The bar is very cool and probably where you should spend most of your time. The food looks good, is nicely presented, but it doesn’t seem often to come out with the anticipated good flavor. The onion soup, for instance, is about half as oniony and cheesy as you’d expect. The Caesar salad — how can you screw that up? — has some pieces of Romaine lettuce with slices of flatbread and a seasoning that is way too overwhelming. The potato pancake on flattered offers cheesy mashed potatoes spread across bread that is toasted yet is soggy not crunchy. Crab cakes on the bland side. Calamari chewy enough to be a tire. And so it goes. Honestly, few dishes we’ve ordered are terrible, but nothing comes out quite as good as we’d hope. It’s as if the kitchen is close but not quite there yet. Prices are a tad high given the quality, and the service varied from fine to lame during our four visits. Our suggestion: Try the bar where the drinks are good, and sample a dessert while you’re there. Maybe 2.5 stars if Unilocal would let us.

very good food. I got the dry rubbed wings which were the best wings I’ve ever had. the only con is that there was not a lot of gluten free option.

Actually, I give the food 3.5 stars and our service 5 stars(well done Lauren!!). Got seated, got greeted by the terrific aforementioned Lauren, got drinks. Calamari, crab cakes and clam chowder were ordered as apps… all pretty good. The calamari was not quite as tender as it could be and the crab cakes a wee bit too dark. Clam chowder seemed pretty good. Son had a burger he said was very good, daughter liked her Mac and cheese, husband had a burger, good except too much teriyaki sauce. I had the autumn pappadelle. Noodles were good, but the butternut squash was a bit mushy, and the peas were mealy and the mushrooms made it all kinda brown. A bit disappointing. The children ordered peanut butter cup mousse and that was pretty stinkin’ delicious. Overall, we had a good family date night, enjoyed our food for the most part and were well cared for. It was a decent sized bill and we left a good tip. We’ll be back.

Nice bar but the place needs better kitchen and better front of house. Someone needs to go in there and really get this place in shape.

Pleasantly creative and delicious food at an unassuming venue. At The Corner is a typical looking small town bar(I mean that in a positive way), but their food is anything but typical. Very good care and quality put into each dish we had. We tried 5 different menu items and each was unique and delicious, so I’d recommend this spot to locals and visitors from anywhere who care about the quality level of their meals.

This was my fourth or fifth time here, and the service has always been great. The food ranges from OK to great, but the prices are always on the higher side. Over the years I’ve had stews, burgers, fish & chips, and the latest dish, the paella. It seems that the basic dishes such as the haddock and potato pancake flat bread are better than the more complex dishes such as the paella. Overall, it’s a place I’ll keep coming back to. The drink selection is impressive, the menu is constantly evolving, and the dishes offer a great variety.

Prices have gone up up, portions and food quality stay decent. They cannot seem to keep«regular» workers. Different staff every week??? Not really impressed with the management. Why the worker turnaround? If you are going to charge more, keep the good workers by paying them more. I don’t enjoy introducing myself to a new bartender or waitress every other week. Will not be a regular. The place down the street proves a better affair.

Restaurant is practically empty. It took for ever to have our order taken. We are hoping it’s worth it. Menu is interesting. Roll look like they are out of a bag. Should be homemade. This place has the look but so far the food is disappointing. Food was good. Service was not. Service was beyond lame.

The brusque manner of the dining room staff started things off on the wrong foot– we were ignored when we walked in and then scolded when we started to seat ourselves. Pretty poor customer service. Food was good. Had to wait in line to use restroom.

I would give this place 3.5 stars if I could. I came for a late lunch, around 3, and it was very full! We didn’t have to wait but there were lots of people. I ordered the minestrone and it was not good at all. It was not a minestrone to me, as it was beef broth with cabbage and mushrooms and beans. It was not at all what I was expecting from a minestrone. My friend got the pumpkin soup and she didn’t like it either. We shared the chipotle chicken wrap and BLT with avocado. Both were delicious! I loved the spice in the chicken wrap and I love a classic BLT made even better with the avocado. Two of our other friends got the bison tacos and they enjoyed it very much. This place is great for lunch and has decent food. However, it cost $ 4 for French fries, $ 5 for sweet potato fries, $ 6 for Brussels sprouts. I understand doing an up charge for sweet potato fries but I do think French fries with sandwiches should come with it. It seemed too extravagant to pay $ 4 extra dollars but how can you not get fries?! Especially when dining out at a nice place like this!

I came here for a late lunch with 3 friends. Considering the timing, the service was incredibly slow, which our waitress apologized for. I started off with a cup of pumpkin bisque. It was a bit too spiced(too much cinnamon and ginger?) for me. My friend got a cup of the minestrone(the soup special) which she also didn’t like. We split two sandwiches: the At The Corner BLT(a BLT with guac) and the Chipotle Chicken Wrap. Both sandwiches were excellent! The chipotle chicken with a tad bit too spicy for me but my tolerance for spice is low. Only the Chipotle Chicken Wrap came with a pickle which I thought was a bit odd. Our sandwiches both came with kale slaw. I’m not a big fan of kale so I gave mine to a friend. We also split a side of fried Brussels sprouts which were good but very salty. My other two friends got the taco loco which was bison with jalapeños and pickled onions. One friend said it was the best tacos he’s ever eaten. The other seemed to like his too. Overall we had a good experience but for the price we’d expect a little more.

I found this place when I got lost in Western CT. They have Great décor and a great staff. The beer selections are really good: they carry beers from nearby breweries in CT and New England. It’s quality bar in a quality area of the town. 100% recommend!

Awesome. Loved everything. Whoever decides on the beer draft selection needs a raise. So many awesome beers to choose from including Nebco and Maine Brewing Co. We had the braised short ribs and the corner burger. Both were great. Also had the fried Brussels, crab cake fritters, and chocolate moose dessert. Great dinner… Would come back again if in the area. Great job crew!

I previously had good things to say about this place. But we had such a bad experience in late Spring 2015 that I feel I should change it to a 1. Maybe the 1 is for ambiance, because it is in a good location. Long story short: late lunch arrival; not busy either at the bar or dining room. One bartender had the whole bar which had maybe 4 parties. It took a long time for him to get to us. Chatting with regulars. Slow wine service and then we got our order in and he forgot to push«send» at his computer station!!! Thirty minutes went by and we had to Ask after our order; he didn’t notice himself? He went into the kitchen and came running back to his computer and pushed«submit» or whatever! The result was that our food came out sloppy and very late and of course, the whole experience was awful. By the time lunch came, we’d each made it through two glasses of wine, so who knew what we ate! No comp, no nothing. He offered a complimentary glass of wine but that was a very weak gesture especially after we’d already had 2 due to waiting.

Wife and I stopped for a drink and lunch. Great beer selection especially the drafts. Pricey lunch, a beer and a pork sandwich, a glass of wine and a lobster roll was $ 50 and NOT very good! I won’t be going back.

We tried three items and the dry rub wings. All were very good. The beer selection was extremely good, many local CT brews. They offer a lot of great choices and great information on the menu to help you choose including the Beer Advocate rating. I tried the N.E.B.C.O Fuzzy Baby Ducks; Double IPA and it was wonderful. The mac and lobster was the weakest of the three, but still good. Wings were very good. The BLT and Hamburger were also great. Meats from local farms; vegetables from local farms. Good ingredients not just ready made meals from the Restaurant supply store.

I had the creative«Corner BLT» and it was scrumptious, light but filling. My friend had a chicken type sandwich with Mozzarella Cheese, etc., which she enjoyed(I don’t see these two on the online menu). The Restaurant/Pub is large and airy and I found the layout to be relaxing and refreshing, after a somber afternoon at a Wake. When I visit the area again, I’ll make a beeline to this spot for lunch. Or, and even better yet, they could move it to my neck of the woods!

I don’t know why, but I cannot get a meal I love here… and believe me, I’ve tried. There always seems to be one or two issues that makes the whole plate go incredibly wrong. Things I’ve tried(that I can remember): Linguine with lobster and asparagus — sounds delicious, right? As bland as paper towels. Litchfield Cheese Steak — the steak is like sliced sheetrock and the asiago roll was made 17 days earlier. The french fries are beautifully displayed and overcooked/tasteless. It seems like this establishment relies a little too much on food service components and forgets the important details like great breads, sauces and homemade touches. I will give them extra credit for an amazing wine list and a beautifully sounding menu — unfortunately none of it has ever lived up to the hype. For me, anyway. I’m kind of over @The Corner and that is a shame because we don’t have a lot of options out here…
