This place is the epitome of all that is good about small town eateries. Nothing fancy but great food. The homemade chicken soup is out of this world. Portions are plentiful and scrumptious. This place has charm beginning with the charm of the owners and servers they are the best. Don’t hesitate to go and give it a try guaranteed you will go back and back and back.

Good good and the service was excellent however the restaurant was slow as in not a lot of patrons. The mini calzone was large.

Outdoor seating near the Litchfield Green is pretty nice. Inside has air conditioning. Mozzarella sticks were damn good. But the rest of the experience was pretty sub-standard. Our plates piled up on the table like Jenga blocks, despite our watiress’ return visits. The food was average. My «Philly Steak Sandwich» was dry, the onions were overcooked — it’s as if they had no idea what they were *supposed* to be delivering with this sort of dish. Big waste of calories on a cheat day. Then there was the cocktail menu. I read this very up-sold description of the fine juice they used, its quality, the brand-label spirits, the kind of glass employed for each drink. Sounds good! I go for the Mojito: «served with decent rum, fresh mind, soda water in a tall glass»(paraphrased). What I end up getting is some sort of flat, bland margarita mix in a plastic coke cup, like some discount pizza place. It was bizarre. I sent it back and opted for a bottled ale. So only come here if you must have a seat outside. I can’t speak for the pizza, but it looked alright. Maybe it’s worth a try, but the rest of the faire didn’t sit well with me.

My parents and I have been coming here for years. Food is always good. I would have given this place 4 stars however I have just one gripe. There is a waitress there that must be part of the family. She has such a scowl on her face when she comes to your table, its as if she hates her job. I have quite often wanted to say to her«would it kill you to give us some service with a smile.?» Its such a shame because she really puts such a damper on a place that is really quite lovely.

* Seasonal Outdoor Dining. Fast Service. Good Food * Some recent reviews have stated that the service has deteriorated. In my experiences here, the service was very good. Very friendly and fast. Warm bread is served at the beginning of every meal. Their salads and soups are quite good. I’ve had omelets here a couple times, and they had the look and texture of eggs cooked on a grill that was too hot. Not terrible, but not great. This place is attractive. Tables are very comfortable, and they offer outdoor dining half the year. My ONLY complaint is that the floor is often mopped with something slippery — maybe too much soap in the water or something — but a couple times there I found it slippery to walk across. But overall, I would definitely recommend this place. * Phil

The move down the block has had both positives and negatives, but in the end it’s an overall good place. The prices seem to have gone up and the service has gone down, but the food has stayed just as good as it was and the atmosphere is more relaxed and less cramped. The pizza is one of the better options in the surrounding towns. The calzones can be massive(if you order the large) and the portions all around are pretty decent sized. Plus the beer is pretty cheap.

This is my favorite restaurant in the area. The food is always excellent!!! I usually order the Chicken Marasla over angel hair and the Shrimp Scampi. The best the pasta is always cooked perfect! The chicken is so moist and tasty. The Scampi is the best out of any place I have eaten. And I have eaten at a lot of places around CT and others out of state. It to die for! The service is awesome! Very friendly. The whole family is great. Would recommend this place without a doubt!

Mostly ok, but the outdoor service is still a problem. The meat/cheese ravioli is highly recommended by the kids, the house marinara and any of the pasta’s are always a hit, as is the chicken Gorgonzola. Whatever you do, stay away from the sautéed Calamari! Doesn’t look good at all…
