Overall, I had a good experience in the service department. I’ve been bringing my vehicle to this particular service department for years. On my most recent visit, I was particularly impressed with service advisor Amanda Qualls. She was incredibly professional and helpful. She was excellent with follow-​up phone calls and providing updates along the way.
During each interaction in this busy service department, Amanda never seemed rushed. She answered all my questions thoroughly. She really treated me like a valued customer and made the experience a lot easier than it has been on past visits. If I need to bring my vehicle back to this service department in the future, I will specifically request to work with Amanda.
I brought my vehicle in for service Tuesday, ⁶⁄₁₄. The vehicle was available for pick-​up on Thursday, ⁶⁄₁₆.

Just purchased my first «new» vehicle in close to 20 years. The experience at John Thornton Chevrolet was absolutely AWESOME! Brad C. and Ash S. were great to work with. I found the truck I wanted at another dealership and they had the truck delivered to them. I have been working out of town and needed to make a purchase in a short time frame. They went above and beyond and made the whole process a very smooth transaction. I will definitely be shopping with these guys again. Thanks again for a great experience!

This place is unreal! We drove 3 hours to look at a vehicle. It was at the end of the evening but they new we were arriving at the end of the day. There was no customer service at all. The salesman made it very clear that he wasn’t interested in dealing with us because it was 8 o’clock and time for him to leave. Never got within 10 feet of our vehicle and threw out a figure that was at least 15,000 below low KBB value. I responded that he surely wasn’t serious and he proceeded to walk off. Amazed that this dealership is in business. Chevrolet should be ashamed to display their vehicles here.

I have been very happy with the service I receive at this dealership. I travel about 40 min one way to get my Chevrolet serviced here so customer service and work quality is important. Nothing irritates me more than being treated like a number and having to return prematurely due to something not being done right the first time. To date, that has not happened here. Keep up the good work!

Thornton Chevrolet needs to hire more technicians and service area personnel. You call in and the phone rings and rings and rings and rings then to be told that they are swamped and they will take your name and number and someone will return your call. When you’re swamped during peak times why not hire that extra personnel to assist with calls and questions? This is not a one time occurrence. You go in during the week to have your car serviced and they always say it’s a 2 hour wait like you’re gonna say never mind I’ll come back. WHY??? I need my vehicle serviced!!! I would hate to see what they would say the wait time is on a Saturday. All the money these dealerships are making should be able to pay their employers to show up to work and have it staffed adequately to assist people having their vehicles serviced. How can you expect someone to give you a 5 star rating when you give poor customer service? You’re gonna lose your customers. I’m willing to drive to Steve rayman or Jim Ellis to get exceptional customer service. #revampyourservicecenter

Bryon in the service Department listened to all my concerns. I feel they were all addressed by the service department. As with every visit the entire staff made me feel welcome. I look forward to doing more business here in the future.

This is where you need to go if you don’t want to be assaulted by car sales people. My husband purchased a vehicle from Billy A. last year and had a great experience. We looked around at other dealerships and came back here because of the customer service and professionalism.

I bought my camaro here for servicing for the second time and when I pulled up no one was there to greet me then I walked into the area where the reps wore it took 2 minutes or so before someone asked me it I need assistance not to mention there weren’t assisting anyone I was the only guest there 2 minutes is a long to to wait when there no one in front of you and 4 reps available. When Jarrod took my keys I told him my car was going flat it has a nail in it he let me know no one will service it until tomorrow and it will be ready by 10 – 10:30am ish. I need to go to work the next day.
I didn’t reach Jarrod until after 1pm and he said the tech that was suppose to work on my car called out and it’s not ready and that he will call me back in 30 minutes to provide me with a status and hour pass no call so I called him no answer.
I walked to the dealership and arrived at 3pm my car still isn’t ready I spoke with the service department manager and his excuse was we’ve been busy. I let him know you’ve had my vehicle over night and it’s now 3 pm that’s ample amount of time to get my car ready. not to mention I have errands to run before I leave to go out of town for two weeks.
Thanks a lot for the disappointing service at John Thornton Chevy. You have wasted hours out of my life I can’t get back. I shouldn’t have come back after my experience the first time. I would rather pay the money to tow my car to Steve Raymond Chevy and keep my business with them than come back to John Thornton Chevy. Steve Raymond have great customer service and follow up with their customers with a status on there vehicle.

I had been looking for the perfect Malibu at the perfect price for over 6 months. I had went to every chevy dealership in the atlanta area. And none of them could deliver what I wanted. Walked into John Thornton about a month about and was greeted by Dan Battle. He worked hard to find me the exact car I wanted at the price I wanted. He was so kind. I never felt any pressure to buy something that I didnt want. Im a flight attendant and not home very often. Dan made sure that wasn’t an issue. He emailed and called with any information that I may have needed. Working with Dan has been the best car buying experience I have ever had. And with going to 3+ dealers in the Atlanta area I have experienced a lot. Dan is a great person as well as salesman. He genuinely cares about your wellbeing and putting you in the right car that will make you happy. Thanks Dan Battle and John Thornton Chevy for finding me the right car at the right price.

My experience here was extremely unpleasant. If this platform allowed for «zero stars» that’s honestly what I would give, because I definitely had a «zero star» experience with this dealership. (My husband said that he would give negative stars.)
On the first day that we visited, there was a vehicle in the showroom that was advertised as the manager’s special. We asked the sales consultant repeatedly for the price and he continued to string us along.
We later followed up via email asking for the price of the manager’s special. The sales MANAGER (not the consultant) responded back with a price.
We made an appointment to test drive the car. We arrived early, and understood that because we were early we were unable to drive the car. However 20 minutes after our appointment time, it became more difficult to understand.
We came back later in the afternoon and were finally able to test drive the car. After a two hour process which included filling out the paperwork, we were told that they had quoted us the price for another car.
This was an utterly complete waste of time. I don’t know if this was a competency issue or an ethics issue or some other type of issue as days had passed and they had plenty of time to rectify an honest mistake if that’s what it had been.
We obviously will not be doing any business with this dealership, will not be recommending this dealership to anyone we know and would highly advise anyone considering this dealership to proceed with extreme caution.
As the price quote us was given to us in writing (via email), we certainly do intend to provide a copy to Chevrolet headquarters to let them know what type of experience we had here.

I bought my used truck here over a year ago. At the time, the salesman allowed me the time to check out the vehicle to my heart’s content. Once I expressed an interest in making a trade, the staff worked with me for over an hour to get the best price for my trade-​in by searching for another dealer who wanted it.
Since I have purchased my truck, I have been back several times for both scheduled and unscheduled service. The service staff is always very friendly and professional. The pricing of services is on the high end, but you get what you pay for.
Even if you don’t live near the dealership, it is well worth the drive to get the most reliable service.

I purchased a pre-​owned Chevy Malibu in May from here, and it was an enjoyable dealership experience. Preston was a great sales guy to work with, really down to earth and laid back. He even sent me a birthday card in August — if that doesn’t tell you he’s a good guy, I don’t know what would.
This week, I brought my car in for its first oil change. I had a freebie to use and they fit me in at 5 pm on a weekday (they appeared really busy so I would not necessarily recommend this time if you can help it). It took close to 45 minutes and they did a full check of the vehicle for me.
