This review is for both the Lithonia and Jonesboro locations, since I regularly use each and there’s significant crossover between the two. This place is really a mixed bag. On the plus side, it’s pretty easy to get an appointment, and they always have time and space for emergencies. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful; I feel like they actually care about me as a human being and not just a number. They’re also willing to work with you on payment options, and give you a clear estimate before starting any work. So why one star? A couple of reasons. The actual quality of the dental care varies greatly. I’ve had really excellent, first-rate experiences with doctors who take their time and explain everything. But I’ve also had a couple less than stellar experiences. The worst was when I got a filling. After the novacaine injection, my heart started racing and I felt dizzy. I told the doctor, but he did not seem concerned. He disappeared out of the room immediately after the filling, leaving me to google what was going wrong. Not exactly A+ dentistry there. They also tend to be chaotic and disorganized with scheduling and billing. On one occasion, a doctor called me to cancel my appointment not once, but twice, on the day of the appointment. And then they charged ME for the missed appointment! I was once overcharged for an appointment. Rather than refunding the money, they applied it as a credit to my account. So guess what happened when I got charged for the appointment the doctor canceled? Bingo. They took the money. Two months after my most recent visit, I’ve just received a bill for services I already paid for. Hugely disappointing. Dent1st could have had a customer for life, but their disorganization and the unpredictable quality of care means I won’t be going back.
