Eh. If it wasn’t Christmas and I had to be here for a wedding, this wouldn’t have happened. The desk attendant was all alone with a line going out the door. The room looks like they just remodeled this morning and quit halfway through. I clearly got what I paid for but, I’ve also have had better at about the same or less rate. When I initially called to reserve the room, I was asked to call back because the girl who took reservations was out to lunch. So my questions are why then are you picking up and why isn’t someone else available that knew how to take reservations. I was so annoyed and taken aback. That alone should have told me to run. The room was extra small, excuse me, quaint. The fridge in the room looked disgusting and was missing the freezer door. Thank goodness for stopping at the Kroger for cleaning supplies. I wouldn’t recommend unless you are in a financial pinch or really hard up for somewhere to stay or you aren’t looking for somewhere to feel comfortable during your stay. This is supposed to be a home away from home right? Well, a minimal version at least but I digress. It served it’s purpose I guess.

Let’s start with the positives. The room was clean and stylish. The air conditioning was freezing. The beds were very comfortable. Now onto the negatives. The breakfast is complimentary but, it comes with a price. The food usage is monitored by the reception desk. My husband and I literally had this woman hovering over us while we made our choices. When I reached for a second piece of bread, I was asked«How many people are in your party?» It was just my husband and I, she told me I was limited to one peice. 1 serving of juice, 1 peice of fruit. The juice was warm, the breakfast was poor, artificial butter was used in a huge tub and was left out without ice beneath it. He lady in the reception stood in the room the entire time that customers were eating, made loud comments to herself about the news and had unnecessary conversations with customers that’s clearly made them uncomfortable. The price for free breakfast? An unpleasant way to wake up. My company sent vouchers to this location to cover the cost of our room. On the second day after the unpleasant breakfast, I called down to the reception to confirm they had recieved payment for our room at around 9am. The lady said she had recieved it and we were settled for another night. I decided at this time to take a nap, after experiencing some jetlag from the night before. I was rudely awakened by a man pounding on my door, shouting«Check out!». Before I could collect myself and jump out of bed to answer the door, the man barged into my room. I told him«Excuse me, please close the door». To Which he retorted«You have to check out.» I proceeded to tell him to check with the reception about the voucher. I called down to the reception immediately afterwards and the lady told me «Sorry, I forgot to take your name off the check out list.» These people are very unprofessional, rude and obnoxious. The staff yells and talks loudly in the hallways at all hours of the morning. They have no respect for drivers who are guests here. My advice, if your company booked you here, make sure you make use of the door locks. Or you might be caught in an uncompromising situation.

I guess I got what I paid for but I’ll share nonetheless. I am traveling cross country with my 60 lb boxer and we chose red roof inn because they are pet friendly and we have had very positive experiences with the chain. We checked in late at night after reserving the room earlier that day. After waiting on the front desk to finish her conversation on her personal phone she asked what I needed. I checked in and she printed out the agreement. I noticed there wasn’t a pet clause so I asked about it. She then was like, We will change your room so you can be closer to the outer doors. It seemed reasonable so I didn’t question it. We were put on the second floor which was strange, you would think they would put me on the first floor for convenience. The hallways carpet was torn and receipts and paper trash was littering it. We asked for a nonsmoking room but it smelled like a cigar lounge. I went back down to see if I could get a different room but she was in a passionate conversation with a staff member with other two guests waiting on her. I decided sleep was more important. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the AC was on blast– all positives. The room smell was nonexistent after five minutes in there. We were placed near the side exits for convenience of letting the dog out but the key reader to get back in didn’t work so you had to walk all the way around the front door, and through the building to get back to your room. The breakfast bar was ok. A bit crammed. Basics were offered. Overall good location, ok room, but staff could be a little more attentive.
