I’ve been coming here on and off for 6 months. The staff is consistent and polite. I don’t see where the bad reviews are from– maybe they have a new staff now. I rarely have to wait and the facility is always clean. No complaints here so far.

First of all… Before I moved to Houston I e-​mailed saying to cancel my membership. I was told I had to go in personally and cancel, so I did. Never received anything they just said it was done. It’s been over a year since I’ve been there. And today I opened up my Capital One statement and Planet Tan had taken out over $ 60! My husband called the store they said no one ever cancelled. (which is NOT TRUE) They said they would go ahead and cancel the membership but they would NOT refund the $ 60! He called the main office and no one answered and their mailbox was full. This company makes customers jump through so many hoops to cancel. Overall just slimy the way they conduct business. I’d also like to say I absolutely hated how I’d be hounded every time I’d check in I’d would be stalked about lotion. I have not used any of Planet Tans services and for them to charge someone $ 60 for NOTHING is disgusting. I’ll be disputing the charge with Capital One… And I’ll be filing complaints to other agencies within the state of Texas. Completely outraged!!!

This place just out right sucks!!! No one knows what’s going on here and they have horrible customer service!!! Also they charged my card for the wrong amount and I’ve been waiting over a month to receive my money back!!!

Called today to check pricing for VersaPro spray tan and what specials they are running? The manager who is there, forget her name but I know she’s been there for several years comes across very disingenuous. She quoted astronomical rates of $ 50 then quoted several package deals with various pricing! I indicated that I had gotten much better pricing in years past. I purchased one year in advanced a few years ago but swore I would never go back to this store because of the way I was treated and all the pricing gimmicks with the lotions etc. I also went to their sister company up the road the following year and had a much better experience but once again felt like you can’t get a str8 answer on discounted offers After my conversation I brought up the Internet special that I get emailed from corporate and then the pricing becomes more reasonable! At the end of the day. the feeling is of a used car high pressured sales tactics with no rhyme or reason to the pricing. This year I’m going to try The Norvell spray booths at Sol Sunless tan. Fingers crossed! Very upfront and direct in pricing. No games!

I moved here from The Colony and from a smaller salon which I absolutely loved. I was worried because I loved the people who worked at my old salon and I was comfortable there. This Planet Tan is in a perfect location but it’s the first thing you see coming in to town from 423 so of course I went there first.
I’ll say at first I wasn’t sure. I signed up for a Gold Member package but he kept pushing the Diamond WHICH I understand I mean it’s his job but it just worried me that I would always be hassled. Nope. Yes they offer the deals going on and explain what you need to be using but I never feel uncomfortable but I will admit he knows how to make you feel like you have to buy it so he does his job VERY well!
Secondly I had never done spray tan and was so scared. I had a free one in my email and thought I would give it a go. He walked me through it, sold me products and I had to run home. When I came back another girl had to help me instead and she was just as awesome. I came out LOVING spray tans. Next time in I actually stopped bed tanning and signed up for unlimited spray tans.
They are honestly sooo helpful and nice and really to a stay at home mom who spends her whole day inside talking to kids and a toddler, talking to them at the salon is like a vacation to me.

The level two beds haven’t worked in at least two months. The versa booth hasn’t worked in over two months. I pay $ 89/​mo for everything and I expect it should work. I’m forced to spray in the mystic booth which I don’t like. Please get it together.

I pulled up at 9:38 tonight and the sign they were open was off and I said no it’s open til 10, and walked in and the girl looked at me like «omg it’s almost time to close» horrible attitude… Didn’t greet me or nice at all horrible customer service… She said name… And said what bed … Ok it’s ready… In a rude tone… I pay a lot of money and buy a lot of product here… Cannot believe the way I was treated as well as my partner who was with me. Absolutely inexcusable. I will be out of your store before 10 … If anyone has suggestions on a different salon around here …

I came in to use a free tan session I received via email for my birthday– they were having a major special for the 4^th of July (it was the 3^rd) and so I ended up saving my free tan for a later date. I was able to use their level 4 bed for only $ 5!
The bed was clean, in great condition and I was really pleased with the experience. I think I have a really good base tan and wanted to do about 10 of the 12 minute max tan time. I was talked down to only doing 8, and so now I am honestly not sure I see much of a difference, but oh well!
Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I do hate salons that are overly pushy on buying lotions from them. they definitely tried to make me feel guilty for not buying even a sample. Only downside!
I had no wait, clean and new-​looking beds. Overall great experience! I would come again!

If I could give zero stars I would. Was reprimanded by the staff in front of everyone in the store for buying lotion online from a wholesaler. There is NO law that says lotion can’t be sold or bought online. If there is no law then it’s not illegal. So I’m not committing a crime. Yes, that’s what I was accused of doing. A tanning salon with a legit lotion contract selling lotion online is LEGAL. If you quit marking up your products so much then maybe I would buy them from you instead of my salon back home. Good job losing a customer Planet Tan. And yes, I will tell as many people as I can about my experience. Tell your staff not to humiliate customers for no reason and you might actually get repeat business.

Super clean facility with a very friendly staff. The beds are awesome and the bulbs are changed regularly. There are a lot of different tanning levels to choose from including spray tanning.
