Excellent family owned and operated restaurant in Little Elm. Upon entering you order up front and seat yourself in this café style establishment. The staff is very friendly and courteous. I had the sauteed salmon which comes with rice and vegetables. The salmon was cooked perfectly. The rice was good and the sauteed zucchini and squashed were cooked leaving them slightly crisp. Yummy. My wife had the most beef poor boy. She claims it is the best she has had outside of New Orleans. My mom ordered the grilled catfish with French fries. The fish was grilled perfectly and the fries were hand cut and fried to a crisp golden brown. All food was presented very nicely on the plate. Pleasant to the eyes and to the taste. The value for the money is also very good. We will definitely be back.

A month later and the Meineke Car Care Team still meets at Waters Edge Café for team meetings and an awesome energy packed breakfast(every Sunday)! Great prices and excellent food; if you agree, be sure to tell the chefs thanks! I always do.

Ordered take out from here. Had a poboy. Food was decent with good proportions. The deep fried ocra could use some pre batter seasoning that can hold up to frying.

This is the best place to eat when visiting Little Elm. We arrived for breakfast and ordered an omelet and over medium eggs. I couldn’t believe that they actually got it right on the over medium eggs. Breakfast was superb. Biscuits warm and freshly made, homemade. We were so impressed with Waters edge café we went back to try it for dinner. Catfish, shrimp and chicken fried steak was cooked to perfection. Our 4 year old devoured the mac n cheese. A great feat in itself! We were able to meet the man behind it all. Great guy! Family owned! This is by far, our favorite little place in Little Elm. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you so much for the great food and the great hospitality! We will tell everyone! Good job, Waters Edge Café! You rock!

The batter they use is superb. Everything is hand breaded and fried on the spot and delivered sizzling. The potato salad was a bit generic, but it seems like they put the most effort intro the fried entrees. I only went for dinner so I can’t speak on the breakfast. I can’t wait to go back and try the fish tacos! Oh, and it’s byob. Nice hole in the wall for a family meal.

A little hole in the wall place that is trying to stay with the big boys in the way they cook. I ordered a cheeseburger, overall it was s good sandwich but it was a little tough liked well done instead of med, the way I like it, the fries was good but it needed more for the price of The meal. They used to have great food and service now they are lacking in all of the above.

Food was delicious. Service was spectacular. The house Ranch dressing is superb. A little difficult to find but glad we did

Outstanding. It is hard to impress a Louisiana native but this place is good. Try the oyster PoBoy. The cornmeal batter makes me feel like I’m on the Bayou. It is an informal restaurant in that you place your order and fix your soda, no problem though. The service is still excellent.

On a rare day, my hubby and I found ourselves at home while the kids were at school. we wanted to go out somewhere for a quick lunch before picking up the kids. This place was perfect. We really enjoyed the fried okra, salmon and the buffalo chicken wrap. I even took half of the wrap home as I was stuffed. Will definitely visit again. Staff was nice and place was clean.

I normally do not write reviews. But the food was good! Been everywhere in little elm now will be back to this one! Drinks were kinda expensive. Do recommend catfish and shrimp! You’ll get a lot!

Pretty good little breakfast spot in Little Elm. I ordered a bacon omelette. However they’d accidentally made a sausage one instead. But that was no big deal to me, because it turned out yummy! Their hash browns are almost to perfection as well. Weren’t soggy at all. Had a nice crisp golden layer at the top. Also got a side of biscuits. Nice and fluffy, a little flaky, but good biscuits. My better half ordered the ham omelette. She enjoyed hers as well. The only gripe, she wishes the ham was thicker. Which I have to agree, was pretty paper thin. Do recommend this place if you’re from Little Elm, or ever in the area.

No longer carry boiled shrimp. Called last night and was told only grilled or fried shrimp were available. I wanted take-out so I didn’t bother going.

Per my posted picture, this is easily some of the best salmon that I have had in the DFW area. I had the pleasure of running into this gem last week and I enjoyed the food so much I decided/felt obligated to write a great review. The atmosphere is great and is very much a mom and pop shop and the customer service is outstanding! Even to the point where the chef came and asked us how the food was. You can definitely tell that the cooks/chef have prior experience working in high end restaurants as the plating and food is perfect. At the end of the day this is a mom and pop type restuarant but what makes it unique is the atmosphere and the extreme attention to detail when it comes to the food and service and its hard to find that these days without paying a ton. An absolute gem and will be back soon!

I love this place. What a great local café for all of us Little Elmians! My family swears by the hamburger steak. I love that almost every meal comes with a salad starter. To be quite honest, I haven’t had anything here I didn’t like. And, trust me, we’re here a lot. I’m pretty sure I’ve tried a little of everything. My favorite part about this place is you can come in during lunch and see the local flavor. Also, the lady who takes orders most of the time is so great. We have a conversation every time I see her. There’s nothing better than keeping it old school and making friends with everybody you meet.

I really wanted to like this place due to the positive reviews, but that didn’t happen. First off, upon walking in, we were slapped with a HORRIBLE mildew stench that could knock a sumo on their face! Wholly moly! But we were told it was a vacant place next door so we went with it. Hubby and I got the catfish and fries and he ordered a side of corn and potato salad. It struck my husband as odd that teens were cooking the food but I encouraged the idea so he chilled. Our catfish wasn’t anything special and lacked any kind of flavor. The fries were OK. My husband spit out his corn and said it tasted like nothing and the potato salad wasn’t any better. They had cakes on display but we passed seeing as our entrée didn’t meet expectations. I don’t see myself trying this place again, although a part of me wants to try something else and give them a 2nd chance. We shall see…
