I had booked an appointment for a spa pedicure before my baby shower. I had explained to the technician that I had chosen Ava Bella because I wanted to get a nice quiet pedicure without the intense smells of acrylic paint. She assured me all products were good for baby and me. She reminded me that she is a doula and not to worry. As she’s saying this she starts pouring a lotion on my feet and says, «I hope you don’t mind a bit of acid on your feet». I said is this safe for pregnancy? Her answer was«it should be» and continued to tell me she wouldn’t leave the chemical on long enough to go into my blood stream. Didn’t know her product, nail polish lasted 3 days, and my feet were even more rough now than when we started. It was the most non relaxing, stressful pedicure I have ever had.

I’ve been seeing Lauren for years for her Shiatsu massage therapy. She is awesome for realignment work. Very perceptive and aware of your needs. I had been on my front for thirty minutes and rolled over with a stuffy head/nose into head clearing eucalyptus fog. Awesome!!!

I think Ava Bella is a nice option for people in the area who don’t want to pay a fortune and still want a decent massage. The ambiance is not nearly as posh as some other area spas, but it is clean and pleasant. I’ve never disliked any services I’ve received here – and I’ve had plenty of massages, a facial, and a pedicure. They frequently run specials and stay open late, which is nice for people who work long hours. My favorite therapists are Tyler and Lauren.

I loved the experience here! I had an hour long massage and it was worth every penny.(It was also a bargain compared to Southern CA rates.) The massage itself was a full 60 minutes; they didn’t deduct my bathroom or prep time from the total. Taylor/Tyler(female) did a fantastic job! I told her where my trouble spots were and why they were so bad. She really focused on those areas. I was so relaxed afterwards that it was hard to leave! There was great relaxing music playing and nice dim lighting. I’m allergic to many, many scents and didn’t have any issues here.(There was nag champa burning though, which I like.) As an added bonus, they gave me a «happy hour» discount! I only wish I could go back :)

I was in town for business and had time to kill, so I decided to get a manicure. This place was near where I was staying and there was a good review on here already. The front staff was very nice and helpful. I made an appointment for after lunch and returned. I ended up getting the spa manicure($ 40) which is an acceptable price for me, but i think a bit too much for the area. The room was small with 2 manicure tables and 2 pedicure chairs squeezed in, but nicely decorated. The whole process was a bit rushed; I jumped a few times with the cuticle trim and the paraffin was still warm and gooey when she tried to peel it off. That left me picking it off in bits later on. The other MAJOR issue was the layers were painted on too soon after one another and there was no lamp to dry them. There was a ventilation fan built into the table, she had me wave my fingers over that to ‘dry’ them. She then ‘helps’ me to the front counter to pay and of course get my first smudge as I hand my wallet to the girl at the counter so she can take my card.(no i did not reach into my purse/pocket for it, i leave it out from the beginning so as to avoid smudges). Another smudge in the car led me straight to target to get supplies to take the ruined polish off and salvage the job. Before you think it… I wouldn’t go back and ask for it to be fixed by someone who did such a poor job in the first place. I had high hopes for this place based on Darren’s review. I suppose the other services could be better, but the set up leads me to believe otherwise.
