This is a «first» and we loved it! The service and food was an ultimate experience for country cookin. This location must be under new management because the reviews I read were not totally accurate today. All customers were seated and serviced within 5 min upon arrival. We enjoy the Cajun fried catfish, squash casserole and the best part of the meal were the fried mushrooms! Everything was served with a smile and piping hot!

Very unhappy. I love the Dixie café but this place not worth going to. My waiter only came to our table TWICE! we had to get refills and our check from someone else. He fully ignored us. Other than that the food was good

The food and the service was the only thing wrong… good appearance and ok cost. Ordered the 10oz tender prime beef, and it was not tender not prime… the meal was disappointing and the service slow. This could be fixed with a new kitchen manager and a new service manager.

We pulled off the Interstate to find an Appelbees, and stumbled on The Dixie Café. It looked fun and seemed to be a little different from what we normally had on offer. The food was okay — not exceptional. The Lemon Pepper Catfish was over seasoned and was more salty than it should have been. The chicken fingers were small, though tasty, but I’ve had better in most other places. The salad was(again) okay, but nothing special. The jalapeño cornbread was good as were the bread rolls, and the service was very friendly. If you are looking for something different where the staff were friendly and pretty quick, then this may be an Interstate stop for you. If asked if I’d stop by again, I’d probably keep looking for Appelbees.

The FOOD here gets about 4 stars. The food was DELICIOUS. I had the chicken-fried-chicken with seasoned fries and a loaded baked potato. The chicken-fried-chicken had NOGRAVY with it, which I am NOT used to at all. It was bare. When I ordered the loaded baked potato, I expected it to be just that.loaded. It came with butter. This is it. No cheese, sour cream, bacon-bits, chives, etc. I was disappointed with that. My husband had the Shepherd’s pie. He absolutely loved it. He ordered the baked squash and the fried okra. Our biggest complaint here was our waitress. She first arrived and explained that she was a graduate in high-school and that she had just had surgery on her mouth. Not sure why she felt the need to disclose all of that information, but okay! We ordered and she brought our drinks back about 5 minutes later.(Please keep in mind that we were only two of out of possibly 15 people. It was not busy at all. We then ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer. We then realized that we had no napkins, silverware or straws. We asked for these items and 10 minutes later(after our food had arrived), she delivered. I did not receive a re-fill at ALL during our visit, nor did she come by to check on us. We were very disappointed in her level of service and I actually had to flag down another waitress to get our check and to-go boxes. Her tip absolutely reflected this poor service. She’s lucky she got one at all. Overall, the food is good, the price is on the high side and the waitress service was horrid.
