Slims is bae. Best place in town for chicken tenders. It’s the perfect Sunday meal after a late Saturday night. I only have one complaint. Their sweet tea could really use some work. The peach tea is fine though. Don’t listen to the negative reviews from the food snobs.

Slim Chickens does fresh chicken tenders and wings. They offer a nice selection of sides, no greens and they make their own sauces and dressing on-site. The restaurants are comfortable, clean with patios at most locations. Some no longer sell beer and wine, while the wings are priced at 1.00 per wing if you by the solo. They are pricey. What makes them worthwhile is the do not use frozen chicken, they buttermilk soak the tenders and fry their fresh cut, large wings when you order them. Here is a rundown of their sides: Potato Salad –is sour cream based and has cheese and bacon Cole slaw-mixed fresh, shredded on-site Fried Okra/Pickles-corn meal, not bad Fried mushroom-battered to order Mac & Cheese-well cooked pasta, nice cheese, wet not pasty, no topping Fries-frozen, skin on med with their house made season salt Salads-they use nice mixed mescal mixed greens on all salads, side salads. The sauces are all good, the hot is not all that hot. The desserts are sold in mason jars, which makes their togo food a bit more fun. They recently moved to paper boxes which are flimsy and tend to break open or unable to support the weight of the contents. Slims should be around for awhile and as they test and expand their menu, they could be even more fun at a better price break. Safe, a bit pricey, but the quality is there.

So disappointed. Just did the drive through. Note to self. Always check your order before you leave! I just paid $ 11.57 for the lousiest meal ever. They forgot my fries and no dressing for the salad. They help obviously does not care what they are serving to their customers!

The chicken is moist, but incredibly bland. They really lean on their sauces for flavor. The sauces are OK. I had the Slim’s sauce and the gravy. The Slim’s sauce was good, but I had to drown my strip in it, otherwise the sauce was gone and I still had a mouth full of bland chicken. The gravy was as flavorless as the chicken. Maybe their other menu offerings are better, but I’m not sure I’ll ever find out.

Slowest service ever. Be sure and check your order before you leave. They mess it up much more than they should. Good chicken though.

KFC has better chicken. The salads aren’t anything to write home about. The staff is on the borderline of condescending. The choices of four teas is really nice. The tea is fresh. One visit was enough.

We ate there yesterday in late afternoon. The service was good and the food was as well. While their chicken strips and wings were very good their mac and cheese was really good. I had to bring some home. The fried pickles were really good. While we did not have children with us, others did. The children seemed to have a good time there with kid meals. We will go back. The food was reasonable in price. There were not many people in there and we had no issue with seating.

Not the best fried chicken tenders, and for the price this place barely warrants 2 stars. Order five tenders by themselves and you will be set back $ 9. Incredibly expensive and the tenders are smaller than Popeyes or Zaxbys. The dipping sauces are decent, but it’s unfortunate that they are necessary.

The food here is great and I find myself coming back because of it. Prices aren’t bad, it cost about 8 dollars for a buffalo chicken wrap and well enough fries to satisfy any appetite. The staff are friendly but they are very, very slow! As a matter of fact, I downloaded this app on my phone and wrote this review in the time it took to deliver my meal to the table. Nobody seems to have an urgency about them and this certainly was the cause of the 2 stars missing. Two buffalo chicken wraps took 30 minutes to get to the table. The drive thru appears to have more urgency than dine in customers(albeit not much more), which I will be keeping in mind. If they keep up the slowness I may not come back.

For my first trip, I had tenders, fries, and Texas toast. The sauces I picked were spicy ranch and the slim sauce. Tenders and fries were good, but I didn’t care for the sauces at all(especially the slim sauce which was too sweet for my taste)…the Texas toast seems to have been buttered but not toasted. I will go back, simply bc the tenders were decent. Although I still prefer Zaxby’s or Raising Canes any day. the drive thru customer service was horrible. I’m not looking to make lifelong friends, but a simple acknowledgement would be nice. Maybe she was just having a bad day, but she could definitely learn etiquette from Chic Fil A.

I really enjoyed Slim Chickens. I love the fact that they serve fresh, never frozen, chicken. The food comes out hot and the sauces are delicious. I am also extremely impressed with the staff. There is a good mix of obviously experienced older staff and eager younger staff, and they seem to work well together. Everyone is extremely friendly and customer oriented. The ONE problem is seating: There is flat-out not enough of it. In my opinion, there are too many booths and not enough small tables, and most parties are not going to consist of the 4 – 6 people to which booths would accommodate. There is also not enough seating outside; the tables are rather large, and again, smaller tables would be more appropriate. My visit was at the noon hour, and the place was PACKED. Ten or more people were just standing around, holding their order number placards and drinks, waiting for a place to sit, and the half-empty booths were pretty annoying. We actually offered to share a table that came available with a personable stranger, just so he’d have a place to eat. I get that the restaurant is new to LR and lots of people want to try it, so perhaps the crowds will thin as the weeks progress. If they can fix the seating issues, Slim Chickens will be a smash hit. Bottom Line: Excellent, hot, fresh food, friendly customer service and decent prices.

Slim Chickens was good! They definately serve fresh and moist chicken strips, and I will be back! That said, I think that there is a certain amount of hype about this place. Its new… The lines to order are long, and the drive thu is backed up… For me, its all about the strips here. The wings were good but i like my wings crispy these were not! The buffalo salad was $ 9 and not really woth that much just lettuce and like 2 cut up chicken strips. I see that they have applied for a beer and wine license… The problem soon will be finding a table to sit while people are sitting around watching sports and drinking beer. The take away: The food is much better than KFC and they have a nice outdoor area, but the resturant is small and gets super crowded.
