Hostess skipped serving me and my girlfriend who were waiting to be helped for the last few minutes, to help her friend who had just walked in the door. We were standing right in front of her waiting patiently, yet were simply ignored. I was so pissed I had to leave. It was totally rude and unprofessional. I’ve been to the other turning points and had a great experience. After today I’m done with all of them. Thanks for nothing!

Been here lots of times. Food is always consistently good. No one walks away hungry. Coffee is bottomless. Call ahead to get on the waiting list as its always crowded because this place is popular.

This was my first time at a Turning Point and my boyfriend was excited to bring me so I’m so upset that this experience was terrible. The food was actually great but the staff were extremely unprofessional. The woman who seemed to be the manager was yelling at her staff in front of the customers, scolding them like they were little children and proceeded to yell at them in the back. It made my boyfriend and I extremely uncomfortable. Our waiter was nice and the others were nice but I guess nobody knows how to use their inside voices. The woman supervising the waiters and other staff was so loud and rude and unprofessional that I was about to ask for the check and get my food to go because I didn’t feel like sitting there any longer. A woman who seemed to be the owner of the location(she was dressed not like everyone else) saw me look back terrified at the people yelling so she came over and apologized. I felt bad but I was so upset, all I could do was shake my head. In summary: good food, unprofessional people.

We are absolute fans on the Little Silver location. Whilst quaint and you are certainly going to wait for a table, the food is worth the wait. It’s the freshest out of all of the locations I’ve personally tried. The wait staff is not always friendly but management is.

Good service, ok food. Blueberry pancakes were flat and flavorless. Wait staff was pleasant and attentive. Cute decore. Probably wouldn’t go back. French toast serving was tiny.

They have been around for a while now.1996 I think. A great place to meet a friend to catch a bite to eat & catch up. Super friendly staff, it’s nice to be greeted with a genuine smile and be served very fresh food and not to have to hunt down your servers. Everyone seems to chip in and help out. A very team like cheery sunny atmosphere. I think their chicken salad is the best around & I consider myself a chicken salad snob.(NOFRUIT !) I want fresh chunks of chicken, celery and a min amount of mayo, salt & pepper. Not some soggy ozzey mess of ground up chicken & mayo and god forbid raisinsin it ! Because I used to make the best as co owner of Ludwig’s circa 1980“s along with Mark’s Deli on Mechanic St. We were always in fierce competition over who made the best which the Hopsital crowd devoured. lol. They have a great selection of really Fresh Salads, Omelets & Ice tea’s. Their chips and salsa which are served as side dishes are as fresh & good as any Mexican restaurant Ive ever been too. Great little spot try it ! Be prepared for a wait & for it to busy on weekends, So i recommend a weekday lunch if you want to chill out & catch up Inside or out. As a side note if your looking for roast beef pastrami or corn beef you won’t find any here. Just fresh oven roasted turkey & chicken which is fine by me. A +

The turning point is delicious and always a place I take my friends when they’re visiting. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu but if you like to eat healthy go for the Fitness Fanatic Skillet(oatmeal on the side!!! Not mixed in with the eggs) it’s to die for. Or the pesto infusion skillet is delicious as well. I have to say I can’t resist the Charlie Chai Shake either it’s just too good to pass up.

Sad to see this only has 3 stars. I come at least 2 a month and leave satisfied every time. Both the breakfast and lunch options are great and at a great value. Definitely recommend

I’ve been eating here for a long time. I started off dining at the TP in Holmdel. When I moved to Rumson we continued with TP Little Silver. Like every place when you first start going it’s great. I think sometimes when you get too big that you loose control of quality. I’m not saying the food isn’t good but sometimes it’s inconsistent. They mess up on salads and sometimes when you pick up they give you the wrong dressing and you don’t realize till you get to your destination. The breakfast is pretty good. Although again sometimes better than others. So I give 3 stars if you want a sandwich or salad. It’s good but nothing extravagant.

et me start off at 12:55 in the afternoon, and after waiting 5 min to finally get someone to come to the host stand, she takes our name and says that it’ll be a 20 minute wait. There are at least four parties ahead of us. Our party agrees that it’s a fair time to wait. The next 45 minutes of standing around offered several signs that we should have taken our name off the list and gone somewhere else. 1:09 pm: The hostess calls a group of three up. They are taken to a table, but a couple with a child, who seemed a bit impatient, walked up and said that they were there before. The hostess had managed to skip over the party in the list and apologized for the situation. They were seated several minutes later, after waiting for the table to be cleared by the wait staff(please read further below about the support staff). 1:15pm: The hostess took a four top table and gave it away to a two top when there was a two top that just stood up and left. Had they just cleared the two top and sat them, they could have sat the waiting three top in front of us. We should have left at this point, already standing around for the 20 min wait time she had said. 1:30pm At this point I notice there are a lot of people entering for take-out orders, which in normal situation usually means great food. However, people were waiting around 5 – 10 min to get their to-go order or place an order. This is partially because all the people were jammed in the front of the restaurant and it was hard to navigate who was waiting for a table and who was waiting to pick-up or place an order. It was also due to the fact that the front of the restaurant wasn’t staffed with anyone to take names down, place orders for the to-go people, or really attend to those sitting and eating at the bar. While I’ve been a manager working in the restaurant business, I’ve never seen a lack of support staff to clear tables, place set ups, or run food. They have the wait staff attend to all of this, in between placing orders and attending to customers. This just seems like a horrible set up from the top down. The amount of time that lapsed from customers standing up and leaving, to someone coming over to clear and set it up was 10 minutes or so! In that time frame, with a proper staff, you could have had it bussed, cleaned, and set up and patrons sitting down. Think about that over the course of a day; how many times you could have flipped a two top or a four top with the proper staff in the building. In this time frame another 4 top comes in and places their name down. As the staff runs around, they realize that all the patrons in the front have been waiting a long time and decide to leave. There wasn’t anyone around to inform, so after several minutes the patron walks over to the host stand, picks up the pen, crosses her name off and walks out before the hostess even knew what was going on. That’s lost business right there. A patron waiting to add her name had to inform her the people above had left. 1:40PM: At this point we called a nearby restaurant 5 minutes down the road and found out that we could have a table waiting for us. We are about to leave and the hostess finally calls our name. We sit down. Now we are seated and sadly, the food was just bland. While I was extremely hungry and felt the need to eat it, it lacked an overall zing. There was truly nothing worth noting about it. Not too thrilled after a 45 minute wait. While everyone is always willing to point out the bad, I find pointing out the good is always helpful. Our server was extremely accommodating to us and was even able place us at a better table(the first one was literally falling of the hinges and was balanced against the wall, if you applied pressure on it at all it swayed and teetered to the point that it could drop a hot coffee onto someone). She was sweet as could be and was a pleasure to be around. However, it was a total of 45 minutes of waiting and standing around based on very poor planning from the front of the house. This establishment is apparently the original flagship of the Turning Point franchise, so you would think that it would be the pride of it the line. It clearly isn’t. And judging by the other reviews, I feel that I won’t be attending any other Turning Point establishments in the future.

I’ve been to each of the Turning Points at least ten times. The food and service are always excellent and the prices are fair. There are options for both the adventurous and the not so adventurous. Every dish I’ve ever tried here has been fantastic and they have a much greater focus on healthy options than most breakfast places.

I went there on a Saturday for brunch. it was utterly fantastic. I ordered a basic omelette with chorizo & a vanilla chai tea latte & my friend ordered the Tuscany omelette with coffee. the omelettes were fantastic! the eggs were fluffy & cooked perfectly. the cheeses used were great ! the vanilla chai tea was so utterly great. I literally ordered one to go as well. the chai tea I drank there was huge, it came as a tea kettle of it. it was the best I’ve had. the service was friendly & we had a waitress training a new employee & both were great. I’m literally going there tomorrow & so much more frequently. I was so surprised.

Awful experience. Our waitress sat us in the furthest corner in the restaraunt behind the drink dispenser when the place was near empty. We asked to move and were made uncomfortable by our waitress, megan, who was TERRIBLE. She was treating us like garbage, didn’t communicate with us and when she did it was a murmer of one or two words. When we asked which of the two omlettes she reccommended, she scoffed and said«I don’t know» she was basically of no help our entire stay. Food is average at best, our eggs tasted like the cardboard eggs that come out of the Dunkin Donuts drive thru. Our«fruit cup» consisted of two melon slices and two grapes. Both of our omlettes were burnt around the edges to the point where the entire side was inedible. Got dirty looks when I asked for cream cheese. Definitely will not be back.

I used to visit the Turning Point on the waterfront in Hoboken often when staying at my cousins. Their breakfast was awesome! So, when I found this Turning Point near his new house in Fair Haven I couldn’t wait to visit. We’d been looking forward to their breakfast all weekend. Unfortunately, this location didn’t bring the same flare. Was the breakfast ok? Sure. And, much better than a Dennys, IHOP, diner, etc. However, it didn’t hold a tune to the location in Hoboken. I ordered the Wilbur Skillet and it was fair. My cousin ordered the Tuscany omelet and he, too, left with a ho-hum attitude. What was wrong with it? Honestly, everything was bland. The meal was fine, but lacked any substantial flavor. The potatoes were tasteless. The bacon was just blah. Fortunately, the wheat toast tasted fresh — and great. Hopefully, this was a case of someone forgetting the spices and an isolated incident, because the other location — rocks.

The food tastes like it came out of a box. It’s antiseptic, tasteless. Just one example, «fresh squeezed» orange juice may have been squeezed from an orange at some time and some where, but it’s not done recently and likely not done at the restaurant. It’s odd because they make a big deal of confirming you want fresh squeezed when you order orange juice, but then they bring out juice that looks, smells and tastes like it came out of a plastic jug. Super slow service even when the place is uncrowded.

Recently received a C+ rating on the sanitary inspection in NJ. Service is slow, and inaccurate. People are friendly, mainly due to the overabundance of zealous businessmen and elderly people ordering tea and coffee and having a chat.

Been going to Turning Point for a long time, and it was always a treat, but had write this review from my last three frustrating experiences there. Our server got our orders wrong last week(my over easy eggs were on the wrong entrée and his scrambled were on mine). We are a party of 2. Service was very slow, but we excused them due to busy Sunday morning. Today, however, unfortunately we got the same server and our experience was again, not great. Our order was placed quickly after sitting and the food took 30 plus minutes to come out! For eggs(and pricey ones?), really? Also, our salt shaker was empty. At 9:00 in the morning in a breakfast/lunch place? Not a good sign. Service is better at the local diners, which is sad, considering the prices here. It wasn’t always like this. Something has changed and the kitchen is always backed up and most of the servers are super young. They need to get it together before I will ever be coming back.

Great place for breakfast or lunch! I had the Pavo Cubano sandwich which was noted as one of their signature sandwiches and I would say I was pleased. My hubby had the Pesto Chicken panini which isn’t a signature dish but we both agreed that his sandwich was better than mine. For a bevy, I had the delicious caramel swirl that came with a sugar stick which was a nice touch. The menu had a lot of variety and had an extensive non alcoholic drink list. I would consider this an upscale diner since the menu definitely leans towards healthy eating. No fries on this menu. Overall great place with a nice east coast feel atmosphere. We’ve gone to the Long Branch location and both are equally great except that the LB location has a much bigger patio and restaurant with nice views of the ocean. The LB location can also get busy on the weekends so be prepared to wait for a table.
