Oh man… Here it goes… This is honestly my first bad review. :(I have been a littleton resident for few years so it’s rough to give this review. My friend and I decided to stop by Kate’s tonight. When we walked in, a guy(who I guess is either a host or server) just briefly looked at us then kept talking to a lady. We were certain he saw us since he looked at us as we walked in. My friend and I were a bit confused but went on to find a table. We waited for a few minutes, but still this man kept chatting with the lady. Since we ended up taking a 4-person table, we felt bad and proceeded to the bar area to ask the bartender if we can just sit wherever or if we needed to order right at the bar. This man was very kind and told us we can sit wherever. As we were walking back to our seat, the man by the door again briefly glanced at us then proceeded to another table. The guests at that table were holding menus, so I guess they probably were about to order or ask something about the menu. Again, the host/server just completely ignored us and made us feel like we were not welcomed. We sat at our table for a few more minutes, but still nothing. My friend who is an international student from China even asked me what we did wrong. I didn’t know what to tell her. I also did not want to make her feel bad so I just said, maybe we should just try a different bar. I also wondered what we did wrong or what was wrong with us. Who knows… Maybe that guy was having an off night. Anyway, we ended up moving to Jake’s Brew Bar then ate at Smokin Fins. These two restaurants ended saving the night.

I am not going to lie, I am a little reluctant to write this review, because I feel like I am sharing a secret… a very well kept secret. Kate’s is the most cozy, warm, welcoming, honest-good-for-your-heart-and-soul wine bar I have ever been to. Did I say«ever?» Yes, ever. The quaint charm, ambiance, staff, selection, menu, and location are unmatched. Tucked away and easy to miss, once you step in, you literally feel like you’ve entered some other universe, free of stress. The happy hour prices are incredibly reasonable, for wines that would otherwise have a much higher price-point. Our server(aka, pourer) spent a significant amount of time describing the wines to us, to make sure we liked what we ordered. The offerings are very thoughtfully selected. They also have other beverages besides wine, but I didn’t care. The cheese and meat platter was absolutely divine. Diverse tastes and flavors, and ample, not to mention, a really simple and elegant presentation. Me and my girlfriends snuck in for what we planned to be a quick«glass and a toast» — and 3 bottles and lots of food later, walked out blissfully happy — and eager to return. It’s a perfect place to get lost, regardless of whether you in the front or tucked away in the back of this cozy little spot. This is a well kept Littleton secret, that I am willing to share with fellow Unilocalers. Truly deserving of all the 5 star ratings. A perfect hideaway for a snack and intimate experience. It’s a don’t miss.

LOVEKATE’S! This has become mine and my boyfriends date night spot. Whether we get a wine flight, a bottle, or just a glass and some cheese, we are never let down. Everyone that works here is AWESOME. It’s a perfect combination of causal and upscale, and with a very laid back, at home feel. We will continue to frequent Kate’s and it will probably end up in one of our stories to our family down the road

This is such a neat little wine bar! And I mean little, it fits maybe 25 people. But our group loved it! We had glasses of the specials, ordered some appetizers that were devoured, and all had a good time. The staff was very nice and attentive, but also let us have our time to chat. It seemed like a very popular place on a weeknight, which I take as a good sign. I will be back when in the area.

I Love this adorable place! The service is why I come back. Of course the wine is good, but you can find good wine elsewhere too. I come here for incredible service and a great atmosphere! This is a good place for girls night or a date. They don’t have full meals, but they have some good appetizer/snack items to go with the wine.

Great little place. Nothing over the top pretentious or fancy, but definitely has some wonderful wines for the most knowledgeable of palettes. They have a few delicious appetizers but the focus is definitely on the wine, which is right up my alley. The service is also impeccable. Perfect spot to have a first date or a few friends for a glass or two.

It’s a small spot off of Nevada Street in old town Littleton, but this is a great place to go if you want an excellent wine and cheese pairing. Alvin was very helpful to us and I always love DTL(downtown Littleton).

I searched high and low for a cute, classy, cozy place to meet a friend for drinks in the southern burbs, and this place really impressed me. It’s tiny, unsuspecting and intimate with a very dimly lit, chill ambience and very cute inside. They have great wine and we had a meat/cheese board. It’s located in the historic part of Littleton and convenient to get to off of Santa Fe Dr. Highly recommend this place if you are like me, looking for a little gem in the southern burbs. Prices were reasonable and the service was good. Parking is limited.

This is a cozy little spot with perfect character! A little kitschy, a little classy, perfectly sized with a really friendly atmosphere. Our waiter was friendly and was very helpful with in-depth descriptions of the wines and suggestions based on my preferences. It was the perfect happy hour spot with $ 5 wine pours & delicious brie!

When I think about what a wine bar should be this is the place I would think about. Cozy, intimate, fun, non-pretentious, with a good selection of wine. The staff is great and the happy hour is really good. I normally don’t venture to the burbs too often but Main St Littleton has the character that I don’t mind coming here every now and then. It’s hard to say but I almost wish they had a similar spot somewhere in Denver. My point– definitely worth checking out if you’re into wine and if you are looking for a relaxed afternoon or evening socializing or reading.

Kate’s is great. All that you want in a local wine bar. Alvin is the best and always has great recommendations based on your wine preferences. I thought the cheese selection was just okay and a little chinsey. It’s not like they are making it to order. Other Han that, Kate’s is very enjoyable and a great place to bring fellow vinophiles.

Kate’s has only gotten better with age. They are now open on Sunday afternoons(I think from 1 to 6 or so?), so it’ll be a nice quiet place to watch the Broncos games this fall. The sangria is very tasty and a great deal at $ 5(and it changes a little each day; they use whatever reds are left in the bottles the next day, whatever they happen to be). The happy hour wines can also be good buys, but if you’re not sure, just ask for a taste first — they’ll be happy to pour you one. The food remains minimal, mostly appetizers and snacks, but that’s what they’re going for; hit this place before or after grabbing a full meal nearby. The staff is friendly and quick to get to know you. Customers generally are open to chatting at the bar with new faces. It really has a neighborly feel. And the one time I got harassed by a creepy drunk/high guy in here, all I had to do was make eye contact with the bartender, raise my eyebrows and tilt my head. He was gone within five minutes. It’s nice to know they’re on the ball.

It’s been a while since I’ve made the trek to the burbs for a glass of wine, but when the fabulous Katie T, had a bachelorette happy hour here, I couldn’t resist. Here’s why Kate’s is a little gem within in burb city: 1 = Staff is amazing. Although the interior is small, and becomes busy for happy hour, we were easily accommodated, greeted with smiles and constantly had our bottles of wine replaced, glasses filled and were perfectly taken care of. 2 = Killer happy hour. With our bottle pre purchased and at a discounted rate, I couldn’t help but peruse the menu and see wine for $ 5 and snacks for not much more! Prices are great for some good wines! 3 = Atmosphere is very relaxed and laid badk, like you’re sitting at home over a glass with your friends and family! i found myself right at home! 4 = Although it’s in the burbs, little main street is becoming a place where the«cool people» go, which will include me :) Kate– you have stolen my heart :)

We loved Kate’s! It’s a cute, cozy little wine bar, with a great happy hour(on both wine *and* munchies!) Our little group of 6 sat in a corner, in a homey banquette with pillows and comfortably(and dimly) lit. We shared a few bottles of wine, some cheeses and meats, and I think I even recall some Baked Brie. The wines were good and varied, and the server was ready with some suggestions based on what we told him about our palettes. The cheeses were, as most cheeses are, pretty good, but on the pricey side(Not all apps are Happy Hour priced.) Stuff a little more cheese on that board! I’m very much into my «Wine and Cheese» phase, and always looking for someplace to indulge. Kate’s is on that list!

I tried Kate’s because it’s a great Friday happy hour meeting spot no matter what side of the Metro Area you’re coming from or going to. I met a couple of friends there and we thoroughly enjoyed happy hour! Kate’s offers great HH specials($ 4 glasses of wine, inexpensive apps) and home-style seating. The bar and seating area were both packed and I know why: fabulous, efficient, friendly service from the waitstaff AND great sized appetizers and generous pours of primo vino. Thanks, Kate’s! Keep up the great work!
