We goto the Melting Pot at least once every few months and this was by far our worst experience. Usually I book in advance and have never had a problem. This time my 9 month pregnant wife decided she wanted to have some chocolate fondue so I called up our favorite place. I called Saturday morning and was told the earliest reservation would be at 10pm that night(no problem I called same day) but when we arrived the hostess could not«find» our reservation. After awhile I was told my wife and I would be seated as soon as they could find a table, not the response I was expecting since I did make a reservation. The meal was good overall but the service was not. The most off putting thing was we hadn’t even been served our chocolate course when we could hear yelling from the staff, cleaning of tables, and just lackluster service at the end of our meal. I don’t know if we expected too much with a late night reservation but we will definitely not be doing it again.

This is undoubtedly one of the most unique dining venues in or around Littleton. The building itself is an old public library, featuring lots of winding passageways and unexpected seating configurations. If you’re going to spend this much money for a meal, don’t be shy requesting a booth away from the front entrance or the server station, both of which can be distracting. This place is moderately upscale, so we usually try to dress up a bit. I also find that eating here often takes longer than a typical meal, since you«cook» your food at your table, piece by piece. They have a notably good selection of wines. This place is great for date nights and special occasions, although honestly we often wait for deals before stopping by, since it’s pretty easy to run up a $ 100 bill otherwise, especially if you bring your kids.

Sent my husband for a lunch with our 2 kids today and I’m completely dumb founded as to how the manager Chris found it acceptable that my husband was charged $ 23.90 in order for my son to eat only cheese and chocolate fondue! My husband specifically ordered a child’s lunch which should consist of an entrée and a salad for $ 9.95. The waitress said that because my husband and my 15 yr old we’re getting the PoweLunch, which is a salad, cheese fondue and chocolate fondue, that my son’s lunch would have to be an «add on» to their lunch. So let me understand, a four course meal for a child, which would include a salad, a meat entrée, cheese and chocolate would cost $ 19.95, but instead, he was charged $ 23.90, yes $ 11.95 for him to partake in their cheese and $ 11.95 for the chocolate, nothing else. When I phoned to discuss this, the manager Chris said he would credit me $ 6! Really? So a child gets cheese and chocolate to share for $ 17.90? Somehow that doesn’t seem quite right considering their full fare is $ 19.95 with 4 courses! We have been to this location several times over the years, always with a good experience. In fact, I had the powerlunch with my same two kids 4 mos ago and was charged the correct $ 9.95 for my son. I can’t seem to understand what is so complicated with the math and how they feel this is justified. I will no longer patronize this establishment based on the more than poor response from the management, who also told me we we’re «obviously both on very different wavelengths!»

Nothing to write home about. Spent close to 5 hours trapped in this overpriced restaurant because they decided they couldn’t bring my party our bill. I understand that fondue is more of a social eating experience, but anything more than 2.5 hours is too much. You’re served stale bread, to start. Delightful. I ordered a caesar salad that was so drenched in dressing it was nearly inedible, and topped with candied pine nuts, bad call. By the time the meat comes out you’re so full of cheese and stale bread there’s no more room to eat. Our server was friendly, but when it was time for the check(4 hours later) she proceeded to take an hour bringing us our bills, getting very confused about adding our drinks from the bar to our bills. I was so perturbed that I hadn’t even received my bill after an hour that I threw my money on the table and left. Management didn’t care, even after our complaints. Apparently a group of people aged 25 – 30 are not taken seriously in this kind of atmosphere, when we were nothing but polite and courteous all evening well into 1am. I will not be back, nor do I understand the hype.

We went here hoping to have a special, romantic evening and were sorely disappointed. We were seated in a horrible, empty room and almost forgotten for much of the dinner. The fondue was cold by the time they got it to our table. Awful service. Definitely not going back here. Overpriced and overrated.

The Melting Pot of Littleton is a sure thing. Appropriate for just about everyone over the age of potty training who is capable of making a two hour dinner the event of the evening, because you cannot rush fondue. Parking is available in their private lot. You are not required to valet! Just let the attendants know that you are going to park it yourself and they’ll gladly direct you to the non valet area. ***Guys: Is your date wearing dressy shoes or footwear with any kind of heel? Is it raining or icy? Use the valet. Special occasions here are a good idea. Out of town guests will appreciate the atmosphere and service. First dates — probably not a good idea, but this is a restaurant review and not relationship advice. The food is really good. If you get the four course menu(come on, you’re at The Melting Pot… Don’t be skimpy.) you will leave full. I’ve read other reviews that weren’t happy with the amount of food thy were given. I do not understand how that is even possible since a classic entrée comes with 9 pieces of different kinds of beef, three of seasoned poultry, and three of shrimp. Between 15 pieces of food and six different sauces — just for the entrée — leaving hungry seems more like a personal problem. It’s not cheap. They regularly have specials and promotions though, and this brings me to my one and only gripe: In my experience, actually having a promotion price applied takes a level of assertiveness. Not meanness, not rudeness or loudness, just assertiveness. I brought my 12 year old daughter for a nice dinner with dad during a promotion, and the special price was not applied. I also brought my teenaged son and 12 year old daughter for a family night promotion, and was initially billed full price. The manager did make the adjustment and all is right with the world, but I did mention the promotion when making the reservation and again when checking in with the hostesses. Having to haggle over the bill at the end was a bit of a let down, but it’s not like it ruined my night or anything. The service at The Melting Pot of Littleton is generally excellent and the staff is almost always deserving of generous tips. They work hard, are attentive to your desires and needs, and are there to make sure you leave positive reviews on Unilocal. Remember, when you get your check, that you’ve just enjoyed about two hours of great food in a very comfortable atmosphere, most likely with awesome service. Unless there was a serious problem with your food or service that wasn’t rectified by the management — after you informed the management — No one wants to hear your complaining about how expensive it is. There are a lot of new people to the Denver area. If you’re one of them, go check The Melting Pot of Littleton out. If you’ve lived here for years and have yet to eat there, give it a try. It’s a sure thing.

Last night, I had to close at work, which meant staying until 9:30. When my boyfriend told me he had a surprise and that he was taking me to the Melting Pot, I was very excited! Admittedly, the Melting Pots I’d been to before weren’t spectacular. I’ve been to one in Cleveland and one in Columbus and neither were all that great. I felt like the food was a little overpriced and the experience a little lackluster. This Melting Pot is in a category all its own! We walked in around 10, and they close at 11. Originally we had thought we’d just do a single course but the host and our waiter convinced us that the 4-course option was the way to go! No one seemed irritated or annoyed that we came so late. We had the alpine cheese option — delicious! Next were the Caesar salads; not the best I’ve ever had, but good. The pine nuts are a nice addition. Then we had the entrees — I did the Pacific Rim and my boyfriend did the land and sea. I liked the teriyaki steak and shrimp A LOT. Cooking it yourself is fun too. My boyfriend loved it all! For our dessert we had the s’mores chocolate. Very good! I think what made our meal, though, was our waiter Sean. I can’t say enough about how professional, cordial, and gregarious he was. We told him how we were moving to Washington and he had a full conversation with us about it, even congratulating us and offering us a complimentary champagne toast at the end of the meal. He went above and beyond to make our night special. We never felt rushed or guilty for being there so late — I think we were there until 11:45, and he was never anything but generous. Something else I loved was the ambiance! Mood lighting meets fun color-changing bubbles meets lighted colorful bottles — I loved it! As a fun side note, I didn’t know ANYTHING about the place’s history before coming here. We went down to the basement to use the restrooms and I, someone who has very little belief in the paranormal, got pretty creeped out. It was dark and there was a kind of scary vibe. I read later about the building’s history, and was fascinated to read about it — apparently it’s one of the«most haunted» buildings in Colorado! Anyway, we will definitely be back before our big move. Sean was wonderful, the food was spectacular, and we were extremely happy with our experience. Thanks for a great night, Melting Pot!

It’s good. Not great. I know what to expect every time I go to Melting Pot. We enjoyed the«sunset special» which was reasonably priced at $ 72 per couple for a 4-course meal, including a bottle of wine. I would never pay full price here, but this special, along with others, will bring me back every once in a while. The ambiance is nice, but there is much better fondue out there.

It is a melting pot. Expect a reasonably good experience at a slightly high price point. Frequently they will run specials that they email out, so make sure to be on their email list(or at least know someone on that list). The restaurant really shines for groups of 4 to 8(above that, the fixed long tables make it hard to communicate among the ends). In a group of that size though, it works wonderfully as everyone is required to communicate due to the fact that you all share a communal fondue pot. Many a friendship has been solidified over the shared awkwardness of mismanaged fondue forks. The desserts are always fun, I mean really, who doesn’t want to dip stuff you probably shouldn’t eat in chocolate that additionally probably shouldn’t have. But hey, I consider them to be one of my rare and appropriate treats. Although as the sales they run are only one month at a time, sometimes they are not as rare as they should be…

Great for special romantic occasions. The only problem is they don’t serve a lot of food, so expect to walk out of there hungry. Been there for two special occasions, next time, we are looking to go somewhere else only because it is pretty expensive. Service is great! the only reason i just gave them 3 stars is because it is too expensive. I much rather take my husband to a fancy steak house downtown where I know he’s not going to walk out of there hungry.

This place was recommended to me by an acquaintance for my anniversary. I called ahead of time to reserve a table. I also purchased the roses(which around this time of the year they were red and orange). They were scattered on the table and I purchased the actual roses in the vase, Needless to say when my girlfriend arrived there she was in awe. The menu here is definitely pricey, and it is definitely good. I ordered a meal package for two that came with some delectable Moscato and 4 main dishes. The meals here are prepped right in front of you(minus the salads). You get to watch your food getting cooked and have casual conversation with your waiter. Our waiter was the best! He was very informative and went above and beyond to help us newbies figure out what we wanted. He had 2 years experience there so we were in good hands. Every meal we had we devoured. The dessert was sooo goood! He even brought us some more too! I ate so much food and felt so stuffed afterwards. I would come back, not for a full meal but just for dessert. I felt so spoiled coming here. I highly reccomend.

My husband and I went here on his company’s dime, and even then I got upset by how overpriced it was. Fondue is easy. The dishes we ordered were very basic — spinach artichoke dip w/bread and milk chocolate dip w/various dessert items. We didn’t even get meat and it was still more expensive than we would have paid at other similar-quality restaurants. The artichoke dip was good, but the chocolate fondue was pretty disappointing. You’d think for the price that they’d provide a whole selection of delicious fresh fruit to dip, but instead there were like 2 strawberries and a bit of pineapple. The rest was super cheap items like marshmallows, pretzels, and pound cake pieces. And the chocolate wasn’t much to write home about either. Sorry about the negativity — I don’t usually complain about restaurants, but I just want others to know how much better off they’d be spending their money someplace that’s actually worth the price. I suppose you’re just paying for the concept and the atmosphere here.

This is a fun place to go with friends and family. My friends and I come here whenever we have something to celebrate, sometimes even just to catch up. I was just recently here for a friends birthday. If you make a reservation online you can add on extras like flowers and balloons that are waiting for you at the table when you arrive, it’s a nice add on for a birthday dinner. The wine dinner is the best option on the menu, you get a bottle of wine, choice of cheese, choice of meats and choice of chocolate for only $ 100 a couple and a portion of the proceeds go to a local charity. Leave your cellphone in your purse and plan a two hour dinner to chat and have fun with friends, also if you get the wine cooking style give it a few extra minutes to cook, for the cheese I recommend the bacon and jalapeño, with extra jalapenos!

What really impressed me about this place is its atmosphere and the history of the building. Apparently, the place is haunted, which adds that much more intrigue. It was fun to walk around it and check it out before and after dinner. The initial reaction when we sat down was that it was really cold but once the pots came and we started eating that equaled itself out a bit. I saw reviews that this place was like a cave but I actually thinking the lighting was good for this type of dining experience. In terms of the food, I do agree with others that the price is a bit steep for the amount of food you get. We actually ran out of chocolate at the end of the meal but they were kind enough to give us a little bit more so we could continue dipping the remainder of our desserts. This place does make for a fun experience. For the four of us, it was conducive to conversation and sharing of food, not to mention the magician that popped by our table. I noticed some booths were a bit more secluded for the people on dates. In the end, this place really waivers on 3.5 stars… if you could get over the steep price then this is a good place to go for a special occasion. The people who work there are great and experience is worth it in the end.

Pretty sure I crave this place in my sleep… We plan our ‘Girls Night Out’ at the Melting Pot at least once every few months! Excellent service, wonderful food, cozy intimate environment! Get the artichoke cheese app 1st it is the best! And my while I love the variety of chicken, shrimp, steak & veggies, my girlfriend LOVES the little cheese purse pasta! And then for dessert get the Yin/Yang chocolate fondu! YUMYUM!

We love this place! First classy restaurant that we took our child to that we didn’t feel awkward for having a child with us. Just about every time we’ve gone has been a great experience. The food is delicious and you always have more than when you can eat. Great thing is you don’t feel out of place going in blue jeans & t shirts or dressed up. They usually have a monthly special of some sort & are often supporting a charity in combination with their special. If I had to pick a negative thing I don’t like is the valet parking is kind of in your face and it’s not like it’s covered parking verses uncovered so as another reviewer wrote kind of unnecessary. That aside this is one of the best places to take out of town guests if you want to have a long conversation filled meal that you’re going to take your time on.

Unnecessary valet for this place. Why can’t we just park where we want to?! It’s not that far of a walk And they provide their own parking lot. Anyways, this restaurant is located in a converted house so multiple levels of dining area as well as options to sit near the fire outside. Be prepared to have 3 – 4 hour meal when you are here. Great and attentive service and they had a pretty good promotion going on when we came. For $ 42 you get your choice of cheese fondue, salad, entrée, and dessert fondue! Left stuffed and happy. Great for a girls night or a romantic dinner with your love. You’ll leave a little bloated but the cheese and chocolate are worth it.

Of course this place is good. It’s fondue, how can anyone not like it? It is a little pricey, but there is more than enough food and fun to go around. The service is great and attentive and the old historical building is a cool place to explore. I definitly reccoment reservations as they often fill up. They also have vallet parking.

If you are looking to kill 2+ hours and $ 250+ then this might be your place. I understand the melty cheese and chocolate concept. However, I have no idea why anyone would want to pay this much to cook their own meats/fish/veggies in broth. I felt like I was ruining my filet… and the product was tuff and gray. I should have just eaten it raw. One thing I could not get over was the poor quality of the bread. Come on, this is not a price point for bread that tasted like it was bought from a low-quality grocery chain and sat in plastic for days. These 2 stars go directly to our server. He was funny and attentive. Like nearly every table around us, we went for a Birthday. My son loved the concept and I think his shrimp came out the best of all our proteins. I can’t imagine taking younger kids here due to the lengthy process.

I’m not a fan. I like to go out and eat so I DON’T have to cook my own food. Everything seems to be bland and our party all left hungry. I will say that the ambiance is nice inside the historic building and the chocolate fondu wasn’t horrible. I won’t be going back. For the price, go somewhere where they actually wait on you.
