Love the food. The seafood enchiladas are my favorite. The margaritas are good. The only big drawback is the carpet is filthy and that makes me wonder about the cleanliness if the kitchen.

Rest food and always good service. Chile Rellenos are good and everything else is too. My fave place for Mexican food

The food is better than their service. The food is good. It’s worth trying if you live nearby. Just expect slow service. Our table had Chicken Mole(the mole was sweet), Combo Fajitas(good), vegetarian enchilada, and some sort of huge burrito.

Good family Mexican. The menu has a ton of variety with a few specialities of the house. They’re very pleasant and provide good service. We were: three adults, two kids(9 and 4). The youngest ate chicken nuggets. Two members of the party had burritos, the«crazy donkey» and the spinach, and both were tasty. The salsa is fresh but not a real stand-out. The fajitas were fine. We liked it and would come back for a steady, enjoyable meal.

My wife, myself and my 8 month old daughter ate here on a Saturday evening. The first issue was there was only one server. We didn’t think anything of this, until the service was affected. It took a very long time to get drinks and to take our order. There was zero bartender working as well, so the server had to make the drinks. The food finally came out and it was good, but only average. The actual restaurant was extremely nice, very cool decorating. Too bad the service was lacking.

Love their food. Great enchiladas and the better half always gets the carnitas burrito. They accommodated the full little league team with parents with no notice(it wasn’t very busy at the time) and the service was decent.

Terrible. Food is bland and tasteless, chicken dry, steak was a joke, pico has less than 5 diced tomatoes in a pile of cabbage. Served the $ 5 quesadilla for my daughter on a plate so hot, my wife burned her hands. Chile rellanos are a square pile of chrese. This is not Colorado meximelt. This isnt even Mexican period. This is just disgusting. Down the road is Dos Potrillos, far better and less expensive. We are both speachless for paying $ 50 for this garbage. We were just checking out somewhere new and paid the ultimate price. Since i was raised on Sante Fe mexican, this experience was a complete disaster. This is the kind of place i would recommend to my coworkers being relocated from SF…

Being from San Francisco, it’s a basic reality that mediocre, in-authentic food will kill a Mexican restaurant in a heartbeat. Expectations are high and 90% of the time they’re met. Having been in the Denver area a little over a month, I’m starting to conclude that people have low expectations for Mexican food and therefore they well under-deliver. Is it racial I wonder? Maybe everyone here insists Mexican food should be chain-like where authentic taste is only a myth. Don’t lynch me rednecks! This is a neighborhood restaurant with the appearance it’s family run. I suppose so. But everytime I’ve passed it in the strip mall near a busy, busy supermarket, it looks empty. Never a good sign. On my occasion, I stepped in and was instantly greeted by a friendly and eager staff. Service was excellent, warm, friendly and attentive, just like one would expect. For my first time, I ordered a baseline entrée: a combo plate with cheese enchiladas, rice and beans. El Basico, largely due to my skepticism about Colorado Mexican food of recent, past experiences. In sum, to my disappointment(food-wise): – the sauce tasted like an equal share of tomato sauce and thickener, with a sprinkling of chile and spices. Quite bland and a big knock since sauce is king in traditional, family Mexican food – spartan amount of cheese sprinkled over, just enough for«color» not taste – literally two spoonfuls of rice and two spoonfuls of beans – cole slaw. If it had a sprinkling of oregano, I would have understood. Otherwise, traditional American cole slaw and enchiladas is a stretch. Thankfully, that was only one spoonful – Still can’t(upon writing) remember if anything was truly fresh. Freshness is a hallmark of Mexican cuisine, FYI. Pluses(food-wise): – plate was warm – chips were freshly made, warm and crispy – salsa was tasty(even if out of a jug) Upon leaving, I said thanks and mentioned I was new to the neighborhood. That registered no response. Not how I would run a place that probably caters to a square one or two mile densely populated customer radius. Hello management? You have a captive customer who’s only choice is chain crap or you? Missed opportunity… I hope someone will guide me to real Mexican food, not Colorado-Mexican food. Seems like Coloradans have their way, and taste loses.

Food was good and was tasty. However, the service was terrible. Waitress was rude and did not offer any refills or visited while we were eating. Not a very friendly environment. Will not be coming back here again.

Never again. $ is not accurate for pricing. I found everything rather expensive for what it was. Nearly $ 6 for a tiny cheese quesadilla for my son. The«special burrito sauce» was not special at all, and in fact rather bland. Service was the worst we have had in years. The waitress barely said a word and actually walked away from our table mid question. We were in early for dinner — around 4:30PM and we were the only one in the restaurant. I now see why. In fact, we joked about leaving after we looked at the extensive menu and the high prices. We should have.

When we lived in this side of town this was our favorite spot hand’s down. It had been years since we’d been there but happened to be in the area again and had dinner there tonight. Thankfully very little has changed. It was decently busy but we had attentive service the whole night — no problems there at all. I had my usual — Beto’s Burrito. It’s awesome — loaded with succulent shredded beef and well topped. Big and delicious. My wife had the chicken fajitas. They were«Awesome!» Needless to say Tre Potrillos hasn’t lost it’s touch for great Mexican food. Glad they’re still going strong!

Tres Potrillos is a great Mexican restaurant out near Ken Caryl Ranch. The staff is awesome and the margaritas(served in your own shaker) are even more awesome! My favorite dishes here are the pork asada, as well as the chile verde pork burrito with the most delicious tasting tomatillo sauce, its so addicting! My family and I have been back again and again to enjoy this wonderful restaurant hidden in suburbia!

If you like your mexican cheesy and flavorless(or if you have 15 kids) this is the place for you. They have about 3000 items on the menu, so when you first sit down you will be thrilled with all the options you have. You’ll invariably still have a couple pages to go when the chips and salsa come in. Now I have not been in the back, but I guarantee the salsa comes out of 2 gallon jugs that say«Salsa —(Made in New Jersey)» on them. Watery, flavorless just enough moisture to wash down the chips. I’m sure the 34 kids in the restaurant love the salsa… to the point where it says«1 chips & salsa per table of 4». The chips & salsa limit will not be a problem at our table. On the previous visit(we came this time by accident, thinking it was a different place) I had the much hyped Enchilada’s. I asked what sauce came with them, «it was Enchilada sauce» they said. Do you have any other options, like a spicy jalapeño or anything. They had green chile, but it was not spice they said… how bout fresh jalapeños…no they didn’t have jalapeños…ummmm OK. Thanks. So this time I went with the can’t lose Fajitas. They were unoffensive… kudos. I recommend for families of 30 and/or birthday parties for 21 year old girls.

Our visit on 10÷25÷13 will be our last. Understandably the restaurant was trying to serve a group of approx. 30 people while accommodating their other customers. Extremely poor service aside, the food was mediocre at best. The food was greasy, over salted and WAY overpriced. The only member of our party who did not either get sick or not like his food ordered the cheeseburger. Our Mexican dishes were horrible. I’m still paying the price. They also were unwilling to give us extra salsa, and would only«re-fill» our existing bucket after asking 4 times. Our chips remained empty and they offered tortillas, then charged us for them. Driving by Taco Bell on the way home, we lamented our decision to not just ring the bell. Their original margarita does have some merit, but does not make up for the horrid food and service.

Just okay. Food is good, service is fine. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Nothing to get excited about either. Kids like it, but again the menu is very average.

Came for lunch. Ordered Crispy Chili Rellano lunch. Side of green chili and soda. Salsa is good. Tastes fresh. The crispy rellano was crispy even after arriving smothered in green chili… nice. Will be coming here for next time I am in the area… but for dinner(2 rellanos).

Margs were very good. Food was decent. Service was not. I don’t see why people think the service here is good. The staff is nice, but we had to chase them down too much for my tastes.

As far a mexican food goes, this has been one of the best we have been to in a while. I ordered a combo of some sort and everything on the plate was good! My wife liked it too and she is pretty picky about mexican food. My only complaint is that the food and plate come out way too hot! It was a good 5 minutes before i could even touch the plate with my bare hands, and the food was as hot as liquid hot magma!

I’ve got to say, I don’t particularly remember that much about the food from either of my visits to date — but helloooooooooooo, tasty margaritas! Their salsa is yum-o and I do remember liking my chili relleno. There’s nothing that spectacular about their food, but it’s still good. Their menu is pretty big so there’s pretty much something for everyone. Nice big place; there were big groups there both times we’ve been. Next time I’ve got to go back for happy hour!
