Murietta’s Well has always been a great winery with good wines but they missed the mark with their renovation. I’m a club member and had no idea they were *closing* for renovation. I got an email AFTER they closed saying they were closed for renovation. No warning, no information, no nothing. I wanted to buy a couple cases for a party and can’t now. There is no ability to do wine tasting either. Very poorly handled. They completely missed the mark of the importance of customers and customer care. I’ll be canceling my club membership.

Horrible customer service. We joined their wine club, but after six months decided to cancel. Funny thing is it really wasn’t about their wine that is my complaint it was just not a priority for us. When we made the decision to cancel I made a call with no return call. I’ve made three more and an e-mail with no communication back. So now I go to their web page and see that they are temporarily closed until May! Hey geniuses how about saying that on your voice mail! I’m sure though they will still find a way to send me and charge me for the wine. I guess I will need to deal with my credit card on this issue.

We had our wedding here last November and we thought it was a great decision. We had about a year to prepare and started early to avoid surprises. Long story short, we had a very straightforward planning process with Heather, our planner, from start to finish with everything being clear, concise, and well-communicated. On the day of, there was nothing that went wrong at all. Granted, we were a small party of about 75, but it doesn’t change the fact that what we expected and what we got matched rather exactly. Our coordinator for the big day was Kristen and she handled everything perfectly, in our opinion. She was practically in the shadows, never taking attention away while she did her work and we greatly appreciate her efforts. In terms of food and cake, which they covered, it was very, very delicious. We enjoyed the food during the tasting session, but we were unsure if our guests will like them. It was pointless to worry because every single guest loved the food and the cake. We were able to take some leftovers home and even a day or two after, it was still super tasty. All of that, combined with the rustic and homely feel of the place, made for a deeply memorable wedding for us.

A Livermore classic that desperately needs more energy. This place would be packed with the right crowd if management invested on few renovations. 80’s Rock and roll would be my choice for music here. This is a hidden jem! When people think about wineries in Livermore, wente is what you always here. Don’t miss out on the amazing wines at Murrieta’s well. I have never in the 5 years I have been going, tasted a wine that I do not like. I am a red wine drinker but even their white wines are very enjoyable

We waited for 15 minutes directly on one of the bars for a tasting, plenty of uniformed employees saw us but no one helped us. So we left. The place was busy but not overly so. Tastings are $ 20 for 5 wines which is very high for the region.

We had our wedding here on August 14th, 2015. The whole day was a dream. Thanks to the staff at Murrieta’s Well I never felt the stress and panic that I’ve heard so many brides describe. Georgine was our coordinator and she was absolutely amazing in every way. She sent friendly reminders every time something needed to be done and answered all my questions very promptly. Our day of coordinator was Deanna. She was also very helpful, and helped the show run smoothly. I wasn’t ever worried about the time or schedule. All of the staff was so so sweet and handled everything. The food was amazing and our guests gave us several compliments on how wonderful the wedding was. Everything from the drinks to cake were taken care of by Wente. For our smaller wedding(90 guests) this venue couldn’t have been more perfect. Thank you everyone at Wente and Murrieta’s Well for your hard work. It’s a day I will never, ever forget!

I’m sitting here still glowing over my August 2, 2015 wedding at Murrieta’s Well. The staff at Wente provided exceptional service on our big day. As most weddings go, there is always something, whether big or small, that causes stress. One of them for me was a little misunderstanding over acquiring quotes for rentals and catering for additional desserts with our sales manager Georgie, but 5 days prior to the wedding, she stepped up her game and pulled through. The only critique I can make is for our sales manager to pay a little more attention when reading emails to prevent any unnecessary stress for future brides. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous because I hadn’t met our day-of-coordinator yet and my friends were giving me that«Oh sh*t» look like I should know her already given that the wedding was going to be in 3 days. At the rehearsal, I met Deanna, my day-of-coordinator, who was an angel that made our wedding STRESS-FREE. Let me take a moment to express why. With her positive attitude, genuine personality, my husband and I felt relieved and assured we had nothing to worry about from there on out. She took notes, listened attentively as to where I wanted décor to go, and just nailed it day of. During the ceremony, her and Sarah, our event coordinator went out of their way to make sure my husband and I were enjoying every single moment. We did thanks to them and the Wente staff. They offered to fill our champagne glasses, asked if I needed water, and the list goes on. The bartender made the party ;) Deanna went out to look for us during dinner all the way in the vineyards to ask how much longer we were going to take pictures so she can reheat our entrees. Deanna, you’re such a blessing, you don’t understand! We got so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was. However, the guests could not stop talking about how amazing the food, the wines, and the desserts were! That was what I envisioned and to hear them rave about that, gave me that feeling of accomplishment. We owe it all to Wente. My husband was impressed with his communication with Katie, head pastry chef, who ensured we had the best desserts. I personally never corresponded with her, but my husband did regularly and she was always prompt! Thank you Katie! Appetizers — Spicy shrimp flatbread — Duck chorizo empanada Drinks — Strawberry lemonade station — I was advised to get this from Joyce S. and she was so right! — Murrieta’s Well«The Whip» — My favorite white wine, not too sweet, and easy to drink — Wente Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon Entrees — Beef tenderloin — people were talking about the food the next day. Worth the extra $ for the beef! — Pan Seared Salmon Desserts — Champagne & Strawberries Cake(for our cake cutting) — Light and delicious! — Devil’s Food with Chocolate Fudge cupcakes — damn good — Pineapple-Brown Sugar and Apple Cinnamon Hand pies with vanilla bean ice cream — Crowd favorite, a MUST Overall, I wish we can relive our wedding. Everything was so perfect.

Some very good wines & so so-so ones. Red is the best bet. The spur, and the reserves pricey but good Whites not worth it. Great locale with friendly reminder staff. Not cheap though.

Might be a good winery, might not be. I’ll never know. All indications from the internet were that this place was open until 4pm. Signs on the road leading to it state the same thing. Took a long Über here from a different winery. We walk in the front door and are told that they closed for an event 15 minutes before and cannot serve us. The Über had already left and we were stuck, the closest winery is a mile away, I asked if there was a way they could make an exception and let us taste while we waited for another Über. Very quickly told no. We walked to the closest winery rather than wait. Attitude was not pleasant, customer service very lacking. You can tell they get by on the fact that some people don’t mind being talked down to by a glorified bartender. Get your stuff together guys. If you’re going to be closed during posted hours, go onto the internet and tell people. And at least play the part and pretend like you’re sorry that you wasted their time.

What a lovely winery! Love the old barn that’s been transformed into a tasting room and a barrel room. The barrel room is mostly used to host weddings and I can’t imagine a prettier venue. The wine is pretty good too. It’s around $ 15 to taste 5 wines but definitely worth the price. The winery is quite picturesque and has quite a bit if history too.

Can I get married again and have the whole thing here? This place is tiny, but is all quality over quantity. A beautiful historic a-frame overlooks their vines, horses, and half of Livermore. Truly beautiful, tranquil stretch of land. When I visited the sun was shining, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and you could hear the birds call from nearby fruit trees. Murrieta’s Well is owned by a bigger wine group, but I’d be willing to bet they keep this place«smaller» just FOR weddings and ambiance. I could see a business renting out the place for the prettiest Christmas party you’ve ever seen, positively dripping with class. Go on a weekday and have the whole tasting room to yourself. I absolutely adored their 2012 Malbec, and their Semonnay-Chard blend. I should have kept better notes, but their tasting room staff are friendly and will let you try whatever arrangement of wines you like. Pay the flat rate(unless you buy wine, then the fee is waved), and if you only drink white wine, only try the whites. Their port selection was very good as well. I’ll be back!

I always enjoy going here. The wines are good, and I have always found the service to be very nice. Have never felt rushed, or pressured. Love the building, and the location– you can take pictured with Murietta’s actual well. Also, they always have interesting things for sale in the tasting room. Handicapped parking is to the right as you go in(look for the sign) and if you park there, you won’t have to climb stairs up to the tasting room.

My friends and I took a tour of this location last week and it was great. I’ve been here once before to check out the location for an a event but this time learning about how this vineyard came to be was much better. The staff is super friendly and the wine was great. We were able to try about 9 different wines. My favorites were the whip, spur and touriga.

So sad that such a gorgeous winery has such horrible customer service. I was a club member for several years. The wine is amazing but the customer service is horrible, and actually RUDE. Visited yesterday with a group of 7 girls for holidays in the vineyard. We waited to be served and the worker came over to us and said we need to hurry up because they were going to be closing soon(it was 4:15) We all looked at each other and decided to leave. They were flat out nasty and we took our business elsewhere!

My bestie’s wedding was celebrated here on October 4, 2013 and this was a truly great wedding venue. The ceremony took place on the ground floor in front of main building, with cocktail hour upstairs outside the entrance to the wine tasting area, and the reception with dinner and dancing on the ground floor of the main building. My friend worked with the staff for about a year planning everything, and coordinating the food and cake elements with Wente. I attended their cake tasting appointment and it was a dream — samples were amazing, and the process to design their cake was flawless, all collaboration and no pushiness. For the rehearsal and the big day, the staff worked with the bridal party seamlessly and kept everyone on track and coordinated, we wanted for nothing. These are pros and they know how to take care of everything to keep this special day totally stress free! If you are on the search for a wedding venue in the wine country, I highly recommend them. :)

My girlfriend and I came here this past weekend and oh my, this place was packed! This was our first time tasting in Livermore, though we go to tastings and wine events regularly in Bay Area. After a sub-par start to our Livermore wine tasting at Wente, we were hoping Murrieta’s Well would save the trip. And oh my, they certainly did! Pay attention to your GPS because the sign for this place is not very noticeable, at least coming from Tesla Rd. As packed as the tasting room was, parking didn’t seem to be a problem at all. The tasting room is located on the top floor of what appears to be an old barn. Walk up the steps to the right of the barn and you’ll find the entrance in the back. I really liked the pitched roof here and how it really opened up the space, which was crowded with at least 40 – 50 tasters! All of the counter space was taken and after our experience at Wente we weren’t very happy about standing at one of the tables. Enter Amtay(sorry if I got the spelling wrong). He right away walked up to us, cleaned the table and explained to us how the tasting works. FYI, it’s a $ 10 flight of 5 wines that you pick from the menu. He was very friendly, very helpful, and very attentive to not just us, but everyone that wasn’t tasting at the counter. Sigh of relief. A Chardonnay, a few blends, and a Merlot later we were feeling good, lol. The place seemed to be getting more and more crowded but our server remained fairly attentive walking buy occasionally to see how we were doing. I can’t really remember the red blends, but to be honest I was sipping for pleasure at this point, not to write a review. lol. I didn’t like the Chardonnay, but to be fair there is only one Chardonnay I drink and its from a winery in Cupertino. And although I love Merlot’s, I didn’t fall in love with the Merlot here as it didn’t seem to have that berry and cocoa-like flavor I typically enjoy. Fantastic service, beautiful grounds, great view from the balcony, and an awesome tasting room!
