Our most recent visit was amazing. Pig skins(potato skins with pulled pork on top, cheese, BBQ sauce and scallions) were delicious. Super crispy and flavorful. I had the catfish tacos, and added some BBQ sauce to those. Catfish was cooked nicely and overall tasty. Tom/cuc salad, and collared greens were good. My husband had wings and loved them. We have come other times and the food & service has been average, so I would rate it 4⁄5 stars. Today was a great experience there. Next time I will order the pig skins as my main dish so I won’t have to share them as an appetizer.

Been here a few times. Only one time was not so good. This time ribs were great and chicken was very good. A lot of sides to choose from. The chili is HOT and good. Overall great meal.

The ribs lacked a smoke ring, and were not very meaty. It was covered with a thin overly sweet sauce. The hellfire chili tasted like it was from hell. It was pretty much just ground beef thrown in a cup with no flavor. The black beans and rice was a disaster. The waitress dropped off the food and we never saw her again. If a person from the south visited this restaurant, they would think we have no clue what barbecue is. This restaurant is a barbecue embarrassment.

I wish I could give this place a negative –5 stars. This was some of the worst food I’ve ever had. There food has absolutely no flavor. I ordered the wings, they were barely warm, you could tell they had been pre-made and microwaved to the point where they were extremely dried out. The only thing worst then their main course is their sides, no love, no flavor, no ambition or passion whatsoever is placed in their sides. It was the the most unpleasant culinary experience I’ve had in a long time. They didn’t even bother to warm up the sides, it was as if they served them cold from a fridge. This shows no care or respect for the consumers. I would bank that most of the postive reviews are from friends, family and co-workers, because no honest palette would ever consider Limp Lizard even remotely quality food. To call the food at this place terrible would be a compliment. Do not eat here, you will be gravely disappointe; I know my family was.

Not impressed. Ordered their pulled pork sandwich which had little flavor and was very fatty. Bread was soggy. Nice atmosphere and service was good, but I won’t be returning.

Located on a cute side street in liverpool this BBQ is a pretty stop. The BBQ is not as good as I’ve heard. The food was kind of a disappointment for the hype and price.

The place is ok not great and yes there is better BBQ joints in area. The service here is not great, once they served the food they never come back to see if we needed something else we had to go find waiter for drink refills. I was not a fan of the BBQ sauce thought it to sweet and to thin but sauces are a personal preference I had ribs and brisket thought brisket was to dry and lacked flavor. Ribs were ok but again lacked flavor and solid smoke ring. Not sure if I would go back probably not I would have given it 2.5 stars if possible, it’s just not solid 3 in my view

Awesome food and service! You must try the smoked wings and brisket! Many beers on tap to chose from and the crowd is a good mix!

I have been to this place twice the first time was good the second time this week not so much. I sat at the bar and the service was not good. The bartender paid to much attention to a regular and I sat there for 5 minutes before she came over and the bar was not busy. I wanted to order the egg rolls but they were all out by 7pm. I ordered a combo of half chicken and brisket. The brisket was very fatty, over cooked, dry and cut way to thick. The chicken was tasty with good flavor. Overall I was dissatisfied this time. Next time I’m back in the area on business I would probably not stop here again which is a shame cause the first time it was good.

Been to Limp Lizard many times. Every thing I’ve tried was good. Best side is hellfire chilli. Smoked meat is my favorite food.

Food is 5 stars. It’s to be understood that with the slow cooking method of BBQ cooking that some items simple might be sold out. Although when I choose this location, service is extremely slow regardless of how busy or not the restaurant is. I know the restaurant business from working in them. I know things happen beyond people’s control, but when the rest of the restaurant who ordered AFTER you received and finished their food before you receive yours… That’s a problem… It’s truly something at this location. The Western Lights location is flawless the 7 or more times I’ve been there. That’ll be my new go to location for BBQ. As I have to be done with the the Liverpool location

I don’t know how the food was. Because after ordering and being told it would be 30 minutes they said it would be a bit longer. At that point I waited and they came back and apologized that they didn’t have the food that I ordered and would I be interested in anything else. Heard they had bad service and they proved themselves in one fell swoop

We seem to wind up here a lot lately. I think it has a lot to do with its convenience, decent prices and good food and drinks. The food is pretty good(not Dinosaur BBQ) but still good food. The ribs, fried haddock and brisket are always winners in our book! I’d say don’t try the pull pork and mac and cheese if you’re going to compare it to Dino– they just aren’t the same. The pork is pretty good actually– just stay away from the mac and cheese in my opinion. They have a great selection of beers and alternatives like Twisted Teas and Angry Orchard Ciders. I enjoy the live music on the weekends, although the dining room is small as it is and the music can overwhelm you after a while. They have outdoor seating which is always a plus. I’m sure we’ll be back soon!

This place is aight. We went on a random night and service was ok. It was a trivia night by chance and that was enjoyable to listen to and one of my friends participated, it was very casual. Food was pretty good and overall the experience was not bad, not amazing but definitely not bad. The outside smells amazing BTW, gets your taste buds going!

Pros: — Good for kids/groups. — Generally, quick service — Decent prices Cons: — Staff are, with an exception here and there, pretty surly. Not sure if they’re going for the Dinosaur treatment, but it doesn’t come off right. — The ribs are indeed tender, but they have no flavor… they aren’t smoked(or if they are, it’s very lightly). — The food is invariably cold upon arrival. — Everything just tastes… bland. There are no interesting flavors going on with any of the dishes we’ve tried. The burger was OK, I suppose. We tried this place four or five times, and aside from being great for the kids, I don’t think we’ll be back. The staff make it a really sad experience… I wish they could cheer up a bit — might do wonders. We’re never looking for the over the top TGIF pieces of flair nonsense, but the looks of despair, as though their winter of discontent will never end, are just so depressing. It’ll be summer soon, folks. Cheer up.

If you like food that should be server warm or hot cold this place is for you. Went here twice and both times it was terrible, and the service wasn’t much better, at least one waitress microwaved my meal. The good thing there are two other locations in CNY and both are much much better.

I was craving some good barbeque(damn you FoodNetwork!) and opted for Limp Lizard in Liverpool instead of Smokey Bones. Unfortunately I was pretty disappointed. The food isn’t terrible by any means, but it wasn’t the drool worthy barbeque I wanted. We started with Pig Skins, potato skins with pulled pork on top. They were potato skins… with a heap of pulled pork. Nothing special at all. For entrees, we ordered the Smoked Wings as well as the Platter(3-way) with ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. The ribs were the best part of this meal. Fall of the bone and super tender. They had to make up for the lack of flavor in everything by smothering it in barbeque sauce. Our waitress was quick and efficient, but not overly friendly. When you pop into the bathroom, you definitely get the sense they are trying to compete with Dinosaur, but they’re losing. They did have a few things on their menu(not barbeque related) that sounded pretty good, so we may go back again… undecided.

If you absolutely love BBQ, you must try this place. We’re big fans of Dino, but the sauces here are just as good, and date I say it — better? Great svc and great selection of IPAs on tap. The two way platter was stacked. The ribs just fell of the bone, the chicken was just crispy and juicy and the brisket was prolly the best I’ve had in a while. Definitely a place to bookmark!
