Overall worse meal we have had anywhere in a very long time. It had been a year or so since our last visit to Kirby’s and it just sounded like a good idea. A Monday night, quiet meal for the two of us. All was good until the main meal arrived. I had ordered the Pot Roast and my wife ordered a steak with Sweet Potato Fries and Squash. It sounded so good. The steak and squash were good. The fries were in the frier several minutes longer than they should have been. The Pot Roast — with a rather strong beef bullion based gravy which was also on the mashed potatoes — yuk. The Pot Roast itself had an interesting and yet not particularly appetizing texture. Needless to say it will be a very long time before we return.

Came here with my grandmother and had never been here before. I have read the previous raters reviews stating the older patronage and I would have to agree. It was around noon when we arrived for lunch. It was pretty empty and quiet. I saw that they did have a happy hour posted and the local craft beers they offered on tap which I’m sure was geared towards bringing the younger crowd in. We were seated promptly in a booth which I have to say needs updating or at least just some cleaning. Along the wall was dusty and you could tell they don’t dust or clean that area, the head boards of the booth were also dusty. Our waitress hadn’t come for a bit but after she did and we ordered our drinks they came pretty quickly. I ordered a tuna melt which was just what it was– nothing grand or spectacular. Came with a side of fries which were not seasoned. The waitress checked on us a few times, but once she brought the check we never saw her again… I’m glad we had the correct amount of cash bc I have no idea where she went after dropping it off– I also saw that they piled utensils in a bin in a stand and sometimes loose utensils would fall to the ground; someone walking by would put it back in the utensil bin! Grossed out by that and was thankful I didn’t need any utensils for my meal. The place does need a good cleaning and an update but to be fair the food was not terrible for the price and other that after receiving the check we had good service. I am not giving it a 5⁄5 because it wasn’t someplace to have an experience it was just another place… I didn’t try their steak or meat but if grandma wants to go back then maybe I’ll try their meat to get a better palate of their servings.

Stopped in here this weekend for desert, i got the deep dish cinnamon apple crumb cake with ice cream which was very good, friend got the toll house cookie with ice cream on the which was better, but indont know why they dont put the ice cream on top. It was around closing time and the wait staff was very friendly, id like to try how their dinner service is some time.

I have to agree with the reviewer that said only old people with walkers go here. As I was leaving I looked around and would say most people here were 50+. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. I had a steak & baked potato which I ordered med rare. I was disappointed they didn’t offer a ribeye because I think they’re much more tender and juicy than a ny strip/sirloin. The salad was very good, but when my steak came it was way overcooked. There wasn’t any pink inside and the meat was completely dried out like shoe-leather. When someone finally came around too check on the food, they offered to remake it. The waitress came back with a plate and slid my potato onto it and told me I could eat on it while they made a new steak and took the old one away. I would have preferred to have had a new hot potato brought back with my steak. The 2nd steak was properly cooked, but had almost no flavor. It didn’t taste as if even salt& pepper had been put on it. Ever heard of steak seasoning? Everyone else at the table was nearly done by the time I got my steak and I had to eat just the steak because I finished my potato a long time ago before it got cold. The best thing of all was actually the hot bread they brought to the table. Meh. tired atmosphere, tired food, tired CHEF. It’s time to close the doors or remodel and revamp the menu to inject new life in this place. The chef needs to up his game or find someone else to do it for him. That’s sad when you can’t even make a steak without messing it up.

The atmosphere is ok. The service is average. The server was friendly, but slow. The garden salad tasted like it came out of a bag(probably did). The bread was actually really good. To bad the butter is not flavored in any way. The stuffed mushrooms appetizer was really good, but a little pricey. You only get 4 mushrooms for $ 9. My wife had the pepper jack burger and she said it was not bad at all. She expected more flavor. I ordered the grilled seafood platter. Not a bad size, but it was under seasoned. The scallops and shrimp were over cooked. My theory is that they cooked everything including the fish on the same hot plate they served on. The key lime pie was not well executed. The crust(graham) was soggy. There was no tartness to the filling and the whipped cream was so fake. No flavor.

Great place to go if you are in with the senior crowd. 90% of the customers are over 70. No young people at the bar or in the restaurant. Which leads me to the food. Bland, small portion sizes and over-priced. I had the large cut of Prime Rib. For $ 20 it was a small fatty piece of meat. It was cold. Sent it back. Second one was cold again. It is not worth it. I have had much better for a few dollars more in taste and size. My wife had the tenders dinner. It was ok. Th loaded baked potato was unloaded. We used to go here occasionally. With the fact that the portioned sizes have dwindled and the flavor is not there Iit’s time to move on. I would not recommend this place. There are better restaurants that serve beef and chicken dishes.

Yeeesh, service is a bummer and the food is just alright. Went to a later meal with my parents and sister when I got in from LA… my dad wanted a steak… the food was decent but the outdated décor and impatient waitress spoiled the mood. Would probably not come back if I’m back in town.

Went here for dinner with my boyfriend not too long ago and had a good time. Atmosphere is very homely. The service was excellent(waitress was very patient and attentive) although our dishes took a little while to come out. We ordered potato skins for an appetizer and the outback chicken and steak and chicken teriyaki for our main dishes. Potato skins were crispy and hot, the outback chicken was a little bland but very satisfying and the steak was very juicy — well done! Prices are comparable to Applebee’s and Ruby Tuesdays and they have daily specials and wine deals(order a pitcher). Overall, a nice place to take the family or go out on a date.

I was absolutely appauled by the manager(Scott Brim) and the way he handled an incident that occured at this restaurant. I was eating there with some friends when the power went out. We had just been served our food and could not eat it because we couldn’t see it. We tried to use our cell phones but found it was still too difficult. While the power outage was not their fault we still would have thought they would have been apologetic for our meal being ruined. When the manager came around to see how we were doing and to take our check someone in our party asked if they were going to be providing any compensation for the ruined meal. Instead of apologizing or offering like a couopn or something this guy launches into why this isn’t his fault and there is nothing he can do about it. The food is mediocre at best and while our waitress(Angela) was very nice the horrible management makes this a restaurant to skip.

Really mediocre. I wish we had gone for pizza instead. The waitstaff was OK, the food was bland and the presentation was not really appetizing. The bread was hot and fresh, but I really expected more for the rest of the meal. Overall, a big disappointment.
