We thought the place was just okay and the service was about the same. The menu seemed large, but not a lot of variety when you began to read into it. The food was not that great either and was so-so. No need to go back.

The Smokey Bones experience leaves a lot to be desired. This restaurant is located on Route 31, near a lot of other big box franchises. Like many of its peers, Smokey Bones follows a surgically executed, feigned individuality. The interior, a hygienic expression of neo-western is adorned kitschy signage that features«Boneisms,» written quips that forcibly attempt personality. And the soundtrack pumps the latest Top 40 dance hits. While we were quickly seated, the remainder of the evening’s service was slow, awkward, and many times plain wrong. A couple of us ordered bacon on our burgers and got none. Another couple ordered the burger medium rare, only to have it served so well done it was dry. Onions were served when they weren’t wanted, and not served where they were. No dish met the order. The food itself even fell short of average. The ingredients weren’t fresh, and the preparation was obvious. The bacon was cold and floppy. The burger patties had a texture as though they were previously frozen. The prices are average, but given the experience, not worth it. With so many authentic and craft BBQ joints in the area, Smokey Bones sits at the bottom my list.

The service here is terrible and the food isn’t much better. Our waitress spent all her time with one table and completely ignored the rest of us. Everything seems overpriced too. Their beers come with about 5″ of head and when I asked the tender to take her time and pour me a full beer she said it’s company policy to pour like that. With like 30 restaurants within a couple miles, I’d skip smokey bones for sure

Waited over 40 mins after we ordered and still didn’t get food. After server went to check on it manager came over and asked how much longer we could wait for our burgers(we didn’t order anything complicated. Burgers and fries). We couldn’t wait so we left hungry. He did comp our drinks but the kitchen seemed a cluster f***. If I’m going to wait I’m going to the Dinosaur.

Waited 40 minutes after ordering to be asked by the manager, «How much more time do you have?». Ummm. none since me and my party had to be downtown at 7:00 for a Crunch game and it was now 6:30!!! No apologies though he did take carebof our drink bill. Will probably not go back because of this experience.

We used to have a Smokey Bones in Fort Myers. For some reason it was closed. It was my «go to» place for ribs. Now when I visit family back north, we typically have a meal here. I’ll be back next month.

There’s something to be said about a good joint for utility BBQ. Chain restaurants tend to be thing to hate, but in this case it means consistency. Being a chain also adds the benefit of a points card system. Every 200 you spend get’s you 20 bucks on your points card. 10 dollar off coupons show up in the mail quite frequently. They even email you coupons if they notice you haven’t visited in awhile. Bonuses aside, I love the food here. Rarely are the baby back ribs tough. They’re usually pretty tender, and have that pink ring that comes from smoking meats. The brisket is flavorful and tender as well. The pulled pork is delicious and moist. I also like the smoked wings there too. They’ve got a wide variety of sauces, but I happen to love mustard based BBQ sauces, which they actually have there. Their nachos come on a huge platter, and you can get a different meats on them, such as pulled pork or chicken chili. Their alcohol selection is average, and not all that interesting. Their desserts are so-so, and I can skip those each time. Basically, they make great BBQ for a chain, and are my go to for BBQ.

If I could give it less than one star I would. I’m not a hard person to please but the service here was awful. When we first got there it was busy but starting to slow down. After we were seated we had to wait 15 mins to place our drink orders and it took another 15 to get them. They were a beer and a mixed drink. After we ordered we waited a good 35 mins and it had already slowed down to where there was hardly anyone in there. While we were waiting we listened to the hostess talk about her friend and boyfriend problems loudly. After we finally got our food the order was wrong. But by then we were so hungry we just ate. After we were done we couldn’t find the waitress for a good 20 mins for our check. Needless to say we will never be going back there. Even if you gave me a free dinner I wouldn’t ever step foot in there again.

First time eating here. It was OK, but definitely no match for Dinosaur! Prices and service were decent. I just found that the food was just too covered with sauce for my liking, and the bbq sauce was a bit too sweet. Dinners served with 2 sides and cornbread.
