Ulta

I attended the grand opening and have gone here a few times since. I had a hair appointment and it was awful. The young lady dried my hair out so bad (just went for a wash/​blow out). She was too busy pausing to answer the phone, and help other customers than dry my hair correctly.
Next time I went I was in line and the woman in front of my got a free gift (philosophy item) and said I want to do a random act of kindness, please give it to the girl behind me. Then turned to me and said ENJOY i’m giving my free gift to you. The girl acknowledged her and said «oh how nice, ok sure». My turn to check out, the girl at the counter goes «Yeah i cant’t give this to you, you need to spend X amount of money» I was like but she said she wanted to gift it to me and you told her you would. «Yeah not going to happen, SORRY!».
Todays visit– my mom gave me two items as gifts (wrong color). I go to return/​exchange them and I got told NO, go get your moms credit card or receipt. Really nice, to tell someone to go be a jerk and tell your family member you returning their gift. She asked her manager and it was still a no. I was told, that” I could have got them at sephora & returned them there”. If you have no way of telling– how can you judge someone and accuse them of doing that? I was livid, they were purchased at Ulta, but because my mom didnt use the «rewards card» or provide me with a gift receipt it didn’t count.
Upon calling the Ulta contact number I was told you are allowed to exchange/​return up to 2 items with out a receipt or exchange for the color I wanted at the very least. SO its clear these ladies are not following the Ulta Policies and are not interested in providing great customer service. Worst part– They are fairly NEW in that shopping center.
I gave them a few chances –but after today… SEPHORA all the way. I get treated so nice there and never have to deal with poor customer service like this. I spend ALOT of money on cosmetics but its not worth it to waste your money at this Ulta!

I just want to say I shop at Ulta all the time in Manhasset NY. I was visiting my mother in NJ and I was raving about Ulta in NY. Usually the associates are sooo helpful and the store is soo clean and inviting. I get the Dermelogica Facial there once a month and it’s an hour of pure heaven!!! So my mother agreed to check out the store by her with me. I was soo angry! The associates were not only unhelpful but rude. We were made to feel like we were in their way and they had better things to do. We went to check out the salon and the girl there could not care less, she was too busy picking her nails to care that there were paying customers! I wrote an angry letter to Ulta customer service about this experience and have yet to hear back. That was two weeks ago. My mother said she would rather stick with Sephora, they have everything and we always get great service in every single store (so far). I have to say after being an avid Ulta shopper I am more than disappointed and would steer customers to a different location should you choose to shop here at all.

Brand-​new Ulta so it’s organized … so far. In comparison in the Clifton location, this Ulta is definitely neater and there are actually testers available to use. Hooray! How long that will last is uncertain but for now, I will continue to use this location as my «back-​up» Ulta.
After being unable to purchase a product in my shade at the Clifton location, I went online to try to buy it only to realize that I would be paying a $ 5.00 shipping fee for a $ 12.00 product. Easily, my solution was to go to a more secluded Ulta with hopes of finding what I needed. I am so glad I chose to put up with the long ride and try this location out. Found what I needed with ease!
I will admit, however, these Ulta girls weren’t very helpful. As I roamed the store, I saw a few customers in the store also aimlessly roaming as if they were in need of direction. Hopeful this location will remain organized and customer service improves.
**Note: There are no Clinique products products at this location. **
