This place has the best Margaritas! You must try them frozen, on the rocks, all of the flavors. There are many different delicious cocktails to try as well. The bartender names Lee or «Shorty» is super sweet and one of their great bartenders. I love the nachos, burritos and the Mexicali chowder! Delicious.

My husband & I have been going to the Nook for years. We love the food and the service. Plenty, nice size portions! Staff is friendly and efficient. The Sangria is homemade and it is the best– Comes with lots of fruit in it– Can’t get enough!

Have being going here since the 70, s, had the worst meal ever over the weekend. Ordered enchilada rancheros, was buried in sauce, beans where so dried out could not eat, told the unfriendly waitress, she looked at me and walked away, rice dried out and uuflavorable. Restaurants seems run down and shabby, needs a good cleaning and updating.

Yuck! Can I rate this place with a negative number? Taco Bell sounds pretty good after eating at the dreary place. The commercial-looking food lacked flavor. The word bland comes to mind. I believe the small guacamole had guacamole, just a teaspoon of tomatoes and onion — nothing else. I tasted no garlic, cilantro, lime or red pepper. The tamales were mealy and the meat(I think it was beef) tasted like faux-beef. Nothing about my meal resembled or had a hint of Mexican flavor. The refried beans started to dry out right before my eyes(I think they were canned) and the guacamole turned black when I got it home(one hour later). Did someone mention this place having«authentic» Mexican food? Yuck! Run away from this place. Even the salsa was lackluster — it tasted more like pasta sauce. The only thing that made the meal decent was the service. The only saving grace was that our waitress was pleasant. Other than that, I would keep driving to southwest Detroit.

I’ve been going here since I’ve been a kid. I grew up in the area and since moved away but I still make it back every few months. The service is great and the food good enough. The prices are moderate. I suggest you go when you’re looking for a decent American Mexican meal at reasonable prices at a friendly neighborhood place. You cannot go wrong here.

Love love love this place! Great authentic Mexican food for really great prices! I’m not a fan of trying new food from places but the enchiladas are absolutely amazing!

We haven’t been there in a couple years, but returned the other night for my wife’s birthday and to get the El Supremo. Unfortunately, they changed the meat from a filet to braised beef tips. Decided to skip that since the meat has been downgraded. I ordered the seafood burrito, which at $ 16.99 was meh. While searching for shrimp and fish through the 1st half of my burrito, and sampling the thick, lumpy, flavorless refried beans, all I could think about was the fully stuffed shrimp burrito and flavorful beans I could’ve been enjoying at our usual place, El Patio, in Farmington Hills for a lot less. I don’t remember what kind of burrito my wife had, but she wasn’t overly impressed. However, our waitress was great. Nice, fast and efficient. I’ve always enjoyed the atmosphere too. We didn’t have any margaritas, but remember them as being pretty damn good in the past. We also enjoyed a free birthday dessert which the 4 of us shared and devoured in no time flat. I’d give the entrée a 2, but the service and ambiance lifts the overall score to a 3.

Worse mexican food ever… first time here. The steak for my steak fajitas was bland. I ordered chicken nachos for my kids and even they said it wasnt right!!! I tasted it and it was horrible. I would NEVER come back here… but our waitress was nice!

Once again they outdid themselves. Their food is good. Reasonably priced. Staff friendly. Best Mexican besides Xocomoto

Food was average. Cost 25% higher than comparable places. Service was absolutely atrocious. Server never brought drink refills despite being empty before we even ordered food. On a positive note, we complained to the manager and did get the meal comped. We still will not be going back.

I was torn between 3 and 4 stars here, so I rounded down for some reason. the food was excellent, but the rest of my time spent here was not that great. We came here on our bosses suggestion for one of our regular staff meetings. I’ve heard of this place before but never went because it’s really to far out of my way. When I walked inside, it was wonderfully decorated, but something about it seemed tired. I can’t explain it, but it was just tired looking. We were seated off to the side and immediately after sitting down I realized our table was wobbly. I hate this! Secondly, our waitress was pleasant, but nothing to write home about. I ended up reviewing the menu and want with the California tacos with shredded beef. It was delicious! The shells tasted home made, the refried beans were awesome and the rice was spot on! Food was an overall hit with me! I can’t go more then three stars here because I’m looking at the whole picture. Food was spectacular, but that was it. I don’t plan on returning unless it’s under the premise of a group setting out of my control. It’s not bad, it’s just not my jive.

Let me just start by saying that we always go to the one in novi-commerce area and its wonderful. This one was NOT so wonderful. I have been a server for 8 eight years and im 24 years old. Me my boyfriend our daughter and his sister all decided to try the Livonia location since we live five minutes away. Heres how it went THE guy at the door who greated us was very polite and friendly. Our SERVER however was very rude did not introduce herself. One of my biggest problems was she basically ignored my 15 month old as if she weren’t a paying customer and did not give me a kids menu or ask for a drink for her until i had to ASK myself. Then When i Asked for another drink menu other then margaritas she told me there wasn’t one, come to find out after i settled on a strawberry margarita there was another menu on the next table that had the Spanish coffees, hummers, baileys etc. Then she failed to come back to our table after we said we only needed a minute or two it took her ten minutes just to come back. The service was very slow and the drinks were nothing special, our chip basket was completely empty and she never asked RL refill it. Then when we ordered she didn’t write a single thing down and had to come back to the table to ask what my my boyfriend had and When the food came out it was terrible and cold, my boyfriend had to send his back because it wasn’t correct and the cheese quesadilla i paid 8 $ for was nothing at all. The chilli was good though, not to mention my sister in law had to ask for refills on her mountain dew. Then i said i wanted to order two fried ice creams to go and to bring them and the check with boxes when i said i was ready because the baby is getting crabby, she brought out the ice cream while we were eating and had no boxes or check. Then gave us the check while in the middle of drinking our margaritas as if she knew we didn’t want anything else… i felt completely ignored and then suddenly rushed. It was a very AWFUL experience, i have NEVER not left a tip in my LIFE because i’m a server and i understand thing’s happen but clearly in this case she was rude, lazy and didn’t want to make any money. It’s too bad because we’re locals and will be telling others and we will never return here again. Found the name of our server its devin. She was terrible

You know a restaurant is doing something right if it’s been open since 1946 — which is the case for El Nibble Nook! This Mexican restaurant serves up a wide array of yummy tex-mex dishes, where you can get a quick meal for a great price. With locations in both West Bloomfield and Livonia, this is the spot I love for a weekday dinner out. As you can see from the pictures — the entrees here are massive! I love the combo meals because you get a little bit of everything and they will run you $ 10-$ 12. Chips and salsa are complimentary but appetizers are anywhere from $ 5-$ 9 and all other entrees cost $ 6-$ 27. The vibe at El Nibble Nook is simple, comfortable and homey. It’s a casual restaurant where I always feel comfortable stoping in on a Tuesday night to enjoy a quick meal and a margarita.

First visit here. We were so excited to try something new! Unfortunately our visit was terrible. Waitress was very terrible. Our glasses sat empty our chips sat empty. Our food was delivered an all four of us were to say the least disgusted. Rice was so dry tasted like it came from a box, beans were so thick an dry tasted like they came out of a can. Not one time did a manger come over to see how everything was. Very expensive, as I am a waitress I understand things happen but for no reason should this be happening. Especially when you weren’t busy at all. Very disappointing.

Today was my 14th year eating here. My main purpose today was to finally do a review. Today my foodie friend am I ordered fajitas! We both found their beef filet fajitas to be under seasoned. In addition the out side of the filet was burned which left a bitter after taste. The beef also suffered from being properly cut. The portion size was adequate, and the rice was very well seasoned! The salsa was very good also! Overall I do recommend el nibble nook. Plus in this area it’s the best Mexican cuisine.

I have now been to both nooks! Visited late on sunday for dinner. Was seated right away. Our waiter was beyond amazing! Very helpful, very polite. Checked in with us multiple times and made sure our food was to our liking. Food was hot when it came out especially the fried zucchini. I love their crispy tacos… doesnt matter if they are beef or chicken. And the fried ice cream was delicious with chocolate, strawberries and honey.

This is not the worst restaurant in the world, but it is still just very, very bad. The reason I give it two stars instead of one is because they were pretty accomodating of my very large party, our server was sweet and friendly, and I liked the chips and salsa. Trying to be healthy at a place like this is just not possible, though. I ordered the veggie fajitas thinking I could pretty much just eat a big plate of steamed veggies and leave the tortillas and rice. Well, the menu said steamed, but the very sad recently unfrozen veggies were swimming in a pool of inexplicably orange oil. I had to eat the rice just to soak up some of the grease. The guacamole I ordered on the side didn’t taste bad or anything but it was definitely not made in house, which is kinda ridiculous for a mexican restaurant. I went with my coworkers and I asked a few of them how their meals were and they all said, «ehh it was. ok.,» and I knew they were just saying this to avoid hurting the feelings of the birthday boy who chose the restaurant. The things they ordered all looked the same, cheesy flour tortillas and other mucky substances. My one coworker said his tacos weren’t very good. How do you mess up tacos? The fact that they even had the balls to bring out my dish in its depressing state tells me they hold themselves to an incredibly low standard. It looked honestly like. unsanitary. All in all, not at all fresh food and very low quality. Mildly repulsive, but not outright heinous. Bottom line, never go here. Unless you want a cheap margarita.

Hostess was talking to someone when we came in but noticed us shortly after. She speed walked us to our table and didn’t say anything after putting our menus down and promptly walked away. Stale chips and flavorless salsa. Drunk guy at the bar yapping about«Native American Indians» and then talking to the table next to us loudly about some dumb shiz. Service was not terrible, but annoying enough. I know it’s a holiday weekend, but if you’re nice and helpful you’ll get a big tip this time of year. Our queso arrived and it was just nacho cheese that you can get at the movies. Absolutely terrible. On the menu it says it comes with chili and pico de gallo, but those were nowhere to be found. I asked the waitress if it was the appetizer queso and she said yes. Rest of the food was really bland. It’s like they don’t have any spices in their kitchen. Their refried beans seemed like they were straight out of a can and the«ranchero sauce» was straight up tomato sauce, most likely also out of a can. Overall, huge disappointment and won’t be coming back.

I used to work in the area so I frequented here. But, this experience has me never wanting to eat there again, seriously. Drink there, yes. I ordered a taco salad thinking you can’t go wrong. Well, I’ve been wrong before and this was no different. The shell wasn’t just cold, it had oil sitting on it that congealed. And the meat wasn’t hot as the cheese wasn’t even close to melting. It looked appetizing as I attested I decided to just not eat the shell, but the first bite repelled me. The lettuce was like salad out of bag which included carrots. I asked the waitress why wasn’t the meat hot and she had no response but took it back I’m sure to put it in the microwave. Needless to say, the margarita was the best thing there since it took the edge off the horrid salad. So I obliged to have another… margarita not the salad.

The food(minus the most disgusting queso dip) was a 3.5 star! I had the California burrito — BBQ shredded beef very flavorful. Huge portion. The beans are truly their downfall — bland, thick serving, but just a decoration of brown on the plate. The coleslaw is yummy– creamy, sweet, tart. Chips nice and crunchy, but no salt. Salsa is very good, right amount of heat BUT we were given one little tiny small dish for the four of us… Guacamole — nice texture, lacked garlic/salt/lime /cilantro flavor– bland Queso cheese dip– the most disgusting thing ever!!!(large for 4) for the nastiest queso I’ve ever had. It was thick, movie style artificial yellow thick weird tasting goopy slop… we doctored it up with salsa… barfo! Azul margarita –YUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMY! Sangria– great flavor, but not going to knock you on your arse type of sangria. I’ve had real Cuban /Spanish homemade sangria and this lacked some of those bold flavors. Service was a 3.5… Mixed up a couple orders, but quickly(and without attitude) fixed the errors. There are many delicious things on the menu, so we keep coming back. The key is to avoid wasting your $$ on the items that sell this place short!
