Wonderful, fresh, healthy food, all made to order from scratch. It’s wonderful to have these kind of options in our little town. Sunday brunch is especially amazing. Terrific friendly service(thank you Jo, we love you!) and lovely chef/owners Sutton and Monique. Market Street Café & Apothecary has been a fabulous addition to Lockhart.

I’ve been here several times since they opened in Dec 2015, and the food is wonderful every time. Excellent smoothies on the regular menu. Their Sunday brunch(new menu every week) is fantastic, but you have to get the boozy root beer! It’s delicious! And the atmosphere is just charming and delightful. A must stop if you’re in Lockhart. This time, my mom got the cheeseburger(chopped brisket w cheese sauce) eggs Benedict, my brother got the Elvis French toast(Nutella, bananas, peanut butter chips in a French toast sandwich w PB whipped cream), and I got the ham omelette w veggies and goat cheese. The food and service are outstanding!!!

Wanted to try a bit of everything so went with the small plates. Had the meatloaf, mac and cheese & the pork. The meatloaf and mash was the best! The rosemary and mushroom gravy was delicious and the toasted and buttered foccacia that came with it was the icing on the«loaf.» The pork came in a close second. We really enjoyed the contrast of the pickled carrots and the freshness of the fries. The mac was a little bland but the broccoli that came with it was perfectly steamed and salted. As for the starter, bacon wrapped jalapeños, it was not very fresh, but the dipping sauce was delightful. Overall a great experience. Looking forward to going again.

Love this place! The atmosphere is quite charming and the food blew my mind! It’s worth the drive for a day trip over to Lockhart, TX from either Austin or San Antonio — to explore the town square & pay this friendly staff a visit. Be sure to try the savory goat cheese balls and then, take home a delightful tea tonic from the apothecary!

This place is so relaxing and the food is delicious! I had the Gonzo and it was amazingly delicious? The ginger brew is wonderful! I’ll keep coming here as long as they’ll have me! THIS is my go to place for every lunch meeting!

What a pleasant surprise. On the square in Lockhart, Market Street Café & Apothecary was worth the effort. On our way to the coast from Austin, we decided to try something rather than BarBQ. Set in one of the old buildings across from the courthouse, great art with fresh cut flowers on our table. Started w/the house salad and we both enjoyed the home made dressings. I had the Big Easy, shrimp w/pasta and loved it. My wife had the meatloaf w/mashers, equally good. Also tried the cheese ball appetizers soaked in honey. Killer! A little off the beaten path, but worth the drive. Interesting herbal apothecary as you enter adds to the good vibe. I’ll be back.

This is probably the most flavor focused food I’ve had in Lockhart. We started with the fried goat cheese appetizer which was warm, creamy, and perfectly sweetened with a drizzle of honey. I got the orchard salad and it was fresh and delicious! Kiddo got the PB&J’hay! Don’t think for a second the PB&J here should be reserved for the kiddos! The huge slices of bread were delicious and perfectly filled. It was paired with fresh fruit which ended up being thinly sliced apples drizzled with honey and lightly salted. Spot on! Hubby demolished his plate of pecan crusted chicken and said he’s ready to come back tomorrow to try another dish. We had a great experience here and will definitely return.

The food is amazing. The customer service is great; Jo, Shane and Breezy will take care of you. Everything is made to order, so plan to come in and enjoy your experience. The last time I was there a family of 4 came in after me, ordered, sat for 15 minutes and were getting ready to walk out because they were in a rush. This is not that type of place. Quality food takes time to prepare, it doesn’t come from Sysco pre-made. The dishes I’ve tried and loved: pastrami gravy and biscuits(Sunday brunch-the brunch menu changes every weekend), braised pork eggs Benedict(Sunday brunch), Porky’s plight=mouthgasm, Saddlebag salad, stuffed French toast(Sunday brunch), The Big Easy-yum, yum, yum. I just ate the Meatloaf and Mashers for the first time and will be adding it to the rotation. When I first moved to Lockhart all there seemed to be was amazing BBQ… Which was awesome for about 6 months and then I really missed the variety of options that I had in Austin. Now we have several amazing places to eat in town, including Marketstreet Café, that aren’t BBQ. These new upstarts are worth the drive from Austin. It’s easy to support local businesses when the food and quality are so good. Thank you, Sutton and Mo, for bringing this to town.

My husband and I went in a few days ago for lunch. He had eaten there before, but it was my first time to try their food. Loved it! The specialty hot teas were a delight. They were served with cream and a honeypot of Goodflow honey, and they refilled our hot water when we ran low so I was able to make more than one cup. I can’t remember the name of the sandwich I ordered, but it was open faced on focaccia bread, with hummus and veggies. It was very good. As a vegetarian, I’m usually pretty disappointed with local offerings, but this had so much flavor and was very filling. And that bread! My god, it was so good. I would have paid the 9 or so dollars just for the bread. We also tried the fries and mac-and-cheese, and both were delicious. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and amazing food. Thanks for opening in Lockhart!

I typically will« Unilocal» a restaurant before visiting, but my friend and I decided on this for dinner based on another friend’s recommendation. How right he was! We were treated warmly and attentively, and the food was as tasty as it was attractive. I will definitely return when I’m in Lockhart again. Kudos to the gentleman(the owner, maybe?) who took such good care of us at the restaurant last night.

This tiny place is awesome! It’s home cooking, comfort food with a twist of neat-o awesome sauce. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is relaxing. The Sky is Falling chicken is my favorite and the meatloaf is fantastic, the burgers are yummy too! They have the largest hot tea menu I’ve ever seen. Everything is freshly prepared so it may take a little longer, but it’s worth the wait. Highly recommend giving it a try!

What type of place do you pack up your family(5) in a small car, drive an hour and eat? This one! Chef Sutton and his staff offer an oustanding brunch, exemplary customer service and wonderful ambiance. Fresh squeezed orange juice for the«Mo’mosas», pecan crusted chicken and fresh waffles(see pic), green beans with the eggs benedict and fresh sausage(see other pic). My boys loved the biscuits and gravy made with in-house pastrami. Definitely recommend!
