Stopped in for lunch. Ordered the mega burger, not sure if it just takes longer to cook because they didn’t tell me it would or they forgot my order because the 3 people that came in after I already paid, ordered paid and received their food before me.

Adding an extra star because my past couple experiences were really good. The fire wings are amaaaazing, great seasoning and good heat. The hamburgers have grilled onions on them and are really tasty and just to reiterate… DELICIOUS beef hotdogs. I also love that they have a drive thru. The slushie machine NEVER works though… don’t even know if they have them anymore, my old paper menu says so but they never have them when I ask. Also, gyros are very small compared to other places but very good.

Awesomeness, food is awesome and the customer service with the speed of the service is what you should expect out of a FASTFOODPLACE with this quality of food.

I only ever come here for gyros and it’s solid as far as gyros go(rating based only on gyros). Be sure to add feta as it’s not included normally, and you might need an extra tzatziki as well. As far as other items I say avoid the«Chicago»(yeah, so not accurate) hot dogs and burgers but maybe grab some zucchini. Food service supply stuff but no one is claiming«gourmet» here either.

Still the BEST gyro plate in the State of Illinois. It is freaking perfect, every single time i order it. I used to get Gyro/kabob combo plate from Mello’s here in Lincoln Park. I stopped over a year ago, why, because they cannot come close to Nicky’s Gyros. When I have gyros, It’s always from Nicky’s!

They would get a 2 because they attempt to make Chicago style hot dogs! Unfortunately they fail! If you are trying to attract a loyal customer base then don’t skimp, use at least an 8.1 hot dog! Don’t try to pass off a 10.1 hot dog for traditional Chicago style hot dogs! It’s an epic fail! Chopped tomatoes are not in the equation for Chicago style! It’s 2 sliced not diced! The sweet relish isn’t even close! Another epic fail! Pickle nice call but, When you dash with celery salt it’s a sprinkle not a dowse! You are so close to all the ingredients but you fail to miss the mark! Don’t make a half assed attempt! If you want to call it Chicago style then hit the home run! I wouldn’t send an out of towner wanting to try a hot dog like yours! I wouldn’t want to embarrass you or myself with something that is just a money grab fake! Time to pony up and make it right you’ve been called out!

Love this place because if you ask them to grill the patty for your cheese burgers they will. Then you get this great grilled tast and soon. Enough you will go back to order another and another. The only thing I dislike is the time it takes to get your food. It’s boated like fast food. But they make up for it with great tasting food.

I had the Gyro plate and my son went with the 2 hot dog special. Gyro plate could feed 2 people and Pitas were delish. Not sure about the dogs as they were gone before I could even see them. He said they were good. No problem with the credit card limit as it was clearly posted and since I was over 10 bucks they swiped my card with a smile.

I live in Lockport and except for a couple places there are not many places to eat nearby. Sometimes I am forced to drive thru at Nicky’s just because it’s late and I need something quick. I never can quite recall why I never go there until I get my food. Last night I stopped for a greek salad. It was terrible. Iceberg lettuce, 2 olives, not even a teaspoon of feta, no cukes, no green pepper, lots of strong onions, and no hard boiled eggs??? This is supposed to be a greek place??? Then I go to pay with a debit card and the girl tells me I have to spend $ 10.00 in order to use the card. REALLY??? This is 2014, who carries cash??? Guess what… it is the cost of doing business. I say this to the owner who then informs me she paid over 100K in credit card charges last year… I’m thinking, if you paid 100K in credit card charges last year, then you must have made millions and who cares??? I have had the gyro, burger, soups, hot dogs and it all was just ok. I recall being irked when they made me pay extra for a «chicago style» hotdofg because there was more ingredients… REALLY??? But the greek salad was by far the worst. One day more businesses will be in the area, and Nicky’s will either have to up their game or retire, head south and spend all those millions. Wont be back.

A Lockport staple. Its your average non-chain burger joint. Good food, good prices and good portions.

Food is average and I have experienced better. I’d rather go to Portillo’s and not worry about the minimum amount for using a credit card.

Every once in a while I get a taste for a good Chicago style hotdog. Unfortunately here in Lockport, I haven’t found one yet. I went to Nickys hoping to find one. I was disappointed. Their hotdogs are better than other places around here, but they are a little expensive for what you get. They make you pay extra for tomatoes! And you have to specially request celery salt! And my hotdogs were missing pickles. My family was happy with their chicken gyros though. They said they were really good with the cucumber sauce.

I stopped there today and got a barbecue beef and a hot dog with fries, I was not fond of the beef, the sauce was bitter, the dog and fries were OK, they have the skinny fries that get hard real fast, so don’t let them cool off Maybe next time I go that way I’ll try the gyro.

It was either this or the Hut. I was in for a gyros and I could smell it a block away. It was the number 1 on the menu board and it came with fries and a med Pepsi. I saw them weighing it and was glad that I didn’t get the pile that they were taking off of the scale and putting aside. I could see the oil in the fryer and it looked brand new. That is why they came out golden and crispy. I could have ate a barrel full. The gyros was good, but it had very little sauce on it. The place is fairly new and very clean.

We are big fans of Nicky’s! Hands down, they serve the best gyros in the area — it’s pretty much the only thing we order. The recently rebuilt restaurant is really nice, and we appreciate the fact the owners haven’t jacked up their menu prices(prices are very fair for the quantity/quality) to pay for the renovation.
