A walk back in time is the best way to describe Reid’s. A walk-up restaurant with last century prices, this is what fast food should really be. If you’re in the mood for some great«greasy-spoon» burgers, this is the place to go. A friend of mine suggested it years back and my wife and I have been fans ever since!

Lockport’s family friendly dining experience. A Lockport staple that has no competition, Reid’s is the one walk up window service summer grub stand everyone must check out at least once. After that first time, you will be hooked for life. The food can only be described as Reid’s, along with their amazing prices. Enjoy a dog with sauce, rings or fries with sauce or any variety of deliciousness, with sauce and you will be in great shape. Milkshakes are delicious as well, so go for the Jumbo size and treat yourself. Although the summer time vibe and opportunity to enjoy the meal with the seagulls at the picnic tables this establishment does offer indoor seating year round and their food still hits the spot even if the grills at home have been retired for the season.

The price is low, the selection is minimal, the quality is average and the shakes are out of this world. Stop in if you’re hungry, have limited funds, and have low expectations. Beware the seagulls.

We’ve been back to Reid’s several times since my initial review. Some of those times were during the colder months so we ate inside. The inside is not very clean. The bathrooms are marginally better. It actually turned me off the food a little. I’d recommend sticking to the warmer months when you can eat at a bench outside unless you’re ordering food to go I don’t mind that they have a separate ice cream shop across the parking lot now. The weird thing is the sign says they have Hershey’s ice cream, but I’m pretty confident my salted caramel truffle was Perry’s. I’d rather have Perry’s anyway, but it’s odd. The prices are still great.

It’s just hot dogs, burgers, fries and shakes. There’s really not much to write home about. It’s nice when you don’t feel like bbq-ing and still want a traditional American summer meal, but it’s not spectacular. You can make the same food at home. It’s very cheap, but it’s cash only.

Where else can you get a cheeseburger for $ 1.50? This place was really good and extremely cheap! If you are driving near this place and have some change in your car, you should stop and grab a burger. The food was pretty good and the service was fast.

A Lockport staple. If you’re from this area, you know about Reids. The food is not particularly special, that being said it is very affordable. The milkshakes here are great and come in a variety of flavors. The burgers, fries, hot dogs, etc are all decent. What sets this place apart from other burger stands, outside of the cost, is the sauce. They have a house sauce, which you can put on pretty much anything. If you’re from Lockport a burger or a dog is not complete without sauce. Stop by see what all the fuss is about and don’t let the crowd scare you, it moves quick.

I have a kitty cat that lives at my house that likes to hide amongst the Reids. They are tall Reids, in fact you can’t even see the kitten when he’s in them. He now mainly lives inside so no longer really hides amongst the Reids. This eatery is named after those same Reids. Also this place is stalking me because it showed up where I used to play football(soccer) at Sportsplex in North Tonawanda, so it’s definitely following me around. Hmm. Reid’s is a cute place that sells burgers and hot dogs in Lockport, it’s very popular, and I have to try it again to see how good it really is. I have to admit I wasn’t that impressed by it last time I came here, but it is very popular so I will give it another try next time I am in Lockport on a summer’s day.

Some time in the early Fifties My Dad took Me to Reid’s. The top of My head was even with the counter. He was greeted by the large athletic men both at the counter and those behind the grill. Lockport being Lockport and My Dad being My Dad this was the norm. The staff was not only made up His friends but also His Lockport High Football Team Mates and some team mates from the Lockport Essos. The Essos were the local semi pro team. Dad and His Brothers were in the restaurant supply business and Reid’s was turning into quite the customer. Soon I was reaching milestones. The freedom afforded by my first bike meant that I was free to go to Reid’s. First solo trip in the family car, straight to Reid’s. First trip in my own car… Reid’s. Want to show a Cutie how kool you could be, drive her to Reid’s. Reid’s is where You go to find Your Friends. I am in my 66TH year, every Friday during the summer I try to make it to Reid’s. There is a very good chance that I will spot someone I haven’t seen in a very long time. I’ll have two cheeseburgers with a slice, fries and a vanilla shake. «Thanks.»

I have worked at Reid’s for 3 years… WEUSESAHLEN’S HOTDOGS!?! You must try our sauce on everything, ask for extra! Onions too! To the comment that says our kitchen isn’t clean: I take offense to that, and I can reassure you that our kitchen is clean as can be. The building is old and outdated, I guess you can be discouraged by that or something? We take your orders without writing anything down, and that’s the fun of working there. Getting long, big challenging orders is always great. TIP: if you order the fries well done, you will most definitely get a lot more fries than if you just ordered them regularly hehe.

Once a year, we take a drive Sunday drive up north, and on the way back from hanging at the lake in Olcott, or exporing the locks, Reid’s is on everyone’s mind. 1.30 for a good quality dog on a schwebels roll. I always get 2 white hots with onion and their unique sauce. Nothing else like it. The rings and the fries are just right, nothing to wow you, but the price– One Dollar??? To feed a family of four, with sodays, our bill was 16. In the buffalo area, at Louie’s, or Mississippi Mudds, we would’ve spent at least 10 bucks more. And I am not sure I would’ve found a white hot! They have tables under an open wooded area out back, or, if it’s chilly, a small eat-in area. It’s cheap, it’s good, it’s fast, it’s fun. Yep, I’m a fan– we’ll be back again next year– or sooner.

This place is a must when I come home for vacation. The price is right, staff is quick, and food is delicious. What more could you ask for? Oh yes-there is just something about the pickles that you must try as well. Ha ha.

Reid’s is a Lockport institution. Many generations have come to Reid’s for their hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, onion rings, and ice cream. Sadly, local institutions are usually not very good, mainly because they rely too heavily on past reputation. The key to any business is to evolve and adapt with the times. This is definitely not the case with Reid’s. The food may have been good by 1985 standards but what we have here is basic stuff anyone can throw on their propane grill — Low quality generic hot dogs and hamburgers served on supermarket buns. Basically all the calories and fat but without the taste. The ice cream is what you can find at any summer place throughout Western NY. Their regular shakes are made with some sort of dairy product that is not ice cream. You can get a real milkshake if you pay extra. On the plus side, the location features many picnic tables to enjoy your food on a nice sunny day. It’s also an inexpensive way to take a family out to dinner. Why are so many drawn to Reid’s? I’d suspect price, location, and nostalgia. Recommended for families on a budget not looking for anything special.

The food is middle of the road. Hot dogs aren’t fancy Sahlen’s or Zweigle’s. In fact, I’m not sure where they’re from but I’ve had similar dogs from Ball Park. The burgers are small and thin. Fries are okay. Rings are okay. Add sauce to everything and it all improves greatly! I had a chocolate milkshake and it tasted just like a Frosty from Wendy’s. I wouldn’t particularly go out of my way to eat here regularly. Though on a sunny day with no real direction, it’s nice to take a drive to try someplace new. This particular visit was probably my 3rd time eating here in 15 years. Reid’s is a Lockport tradition though, so if you just happen to be in town, make sure you check it out! Plus it’s dirt cheap. 2 cheeseburgers, 2 dogs, fries, rings, and 2 milkshakes set us back all of $ 12. How can you go wrong for 2 people?!

Best place to grab a burger/hotdog/fries/milkshakes in Lockport! Located in a small town this burger hot dog joint is awesome. I miss this place terribly since i moved away three years ago and try to go every time I’m home. The prices are incredible and the service is great. As I write this review my mouth is now watering for some fries and a black raspberry milkshake. Too bad I’m 3500 miles away. Guess I will have to wait until my trip home in June to savor some of this goodness!

It doesn’t get much better than Reid’s. Well actually it does get way better– but not for this type of food. If you enjoy dirt cheap delicious food that abandons all caloric responsibilities I highly recommend it. This is the little hot dog stand that could, although I always order the double cheeseburger w sauce(and grab the pickles from the concession bar!). Also, if you’re trying to get out with the kids this is a great option as it very cheap and has a little park(Dolan) directly adjacent(behind Reid’s & down the street just a little) where they can run around either before or after lunch/ice cream.

Don’t bother coming here if you are vegetarian or on a diet, you’ll leave hungry or full respectively. However, if you are an All-American Food lover… you will never be more satisfied. If you are within 20-miles of this place or even just visiting Niagara Falls for the day… take yourself on a little adventure to this place. It’s cash only. You will only need about $ 7.00 per person for a burger, fries and a drink. You order from a window, very close to the road(watch your children). Service is extremely fast, even on the busiest days you can expect to have your food as fast as you would at a fast food chain. If you are a germaphob, eat in your car. The picnic tables available to stuff your faces are questionable at times and the french fry obsessed seagulls which swarm the area leave their fair share of gifts on the premises. However as you sit in your car with your pop in the cup holder and your little cardboard box balancing on your knees you will have an unforgettable food experience. I wasn’t alive in the 1950’s, but the food from Reid’s takes you back to then… when food was cheap, simple, greasy and delicious. They serve, hands down, the best little burger in Western New York. By little I mean— you can have onions/relish/ketchup/mustard, but that’s where they draw the garnishing line— you cannot get fancy here. Order their special sauce. I cannot remember what it is called off the top of my head, but if you get a hot dog, you want the special sauce. Their french fries are thick and crispy in the best way imaginable as are their onion rings. Get an order of each because you can afford the world at Reid’s. You’ll leave with a smile and a little guilt for your arteries.

If you’ve found yourself out in the Lockport area for any reason you’ve most certainly heard of Reid’s. I used to go with my lacrosse team in High School after games against Lockport and those are some of my fondest memories of the place. More recently, I travelled to the quaint little spot after a trip out to Becker Farms. It is the perfect spot to stop back on your way out to the Amherst area or the city! Go up to the window, place your order and within minutes your food is ready. The outdoor seating makes this place what it really is. A community staple for families to come and enjoy the sunshine. Positives: Outside seating, gravy, hamburgers, and the people Negative(and this is the ONLYREASON I didn’t give 5 stars): THEYDONTSERVESAHLENSHOTDOGS. That has always bothered me being a Buffalo boy born and raised, but hey… can’t win em all right? I highly suggest you make your way out there and see for yourself! PS– Becker Farms is only 8 miles away so make a day of it, you won’t be disappointed :)

Do you have a massive hangover and are jonesing for a cure? Are you starving for some tasty burgers, dogs, and fries? Are you a UB student? If you said«yes» to any of the above, then the 30 minute drive up to Lockport, which is on the Erie Canal, is well worth your time. Sit outside at a picnic table and enjoy your food(not advised in the winter). Back in college we used to go all the time, and I really miss this place. My number one tip for you is to order«sauce» on everything. Example, «Double cheeseburger sauce, redhot sauce, fries sauce.» So good(and cheap)!!!

Cheap eats. A very popular lunch, roadside stand. The menu is basic roadside food, hot dogs, hamburgers and french fries. There is nothing spectacular that makes you regret the wasted years you have spent eating at other places, but it is good food at a great price. There are picnic benches to eat at behind the parking lot and a few tables inside. Well worn, like an old favorite shoe. Find on FaceBook as Reid’s Drive-In(Lockport)
