Went here for the adult Easter egg hunt and had a blast! The location is a beautiful serene lake nestled amongst trees and trails and vineyards. It’s a dog friendly place and that is rare to find. The event was a lot of fun. Started with a wine tasting and then just like when you were little, a hunt in the beautiful park like setting to find eggs with candy and adult prizes like free glasses of wine! The bar staff(esp Michael) were very friendly and knowledgeable. The wine was very nice. Took home a bottle of muscato. Delicious. Spring lake has a huge outdoor deck overlooking the lake. I can’t wait to go back for lunch in the summer. This would be an amazing amazing location for a wedding or special event.

Spring Lake Winery isn’t just one of my favorite wineries, but one of my favorite local places, period. After a short drive down a winding road with tufts of dandelions floating by like wisps, I arrived at the vineyard and winery. I think I was served by Kate. Very friendly and personable. She’s in charge of party planning because the winery hosts weddings in addition to wine tastings. I started with a dry Chardonnay. I normally don’t care for Chardonnays, but it was really good, especially paired with the divine lemony biscotti home made by the Varallo family’s matriarch. This place is very much a family affair, right down to the wall art painted by one of the sons. Next I tried the estate Riesling, which was excellent. I also had a sneak peak(taste) of the new Madeline Minx vintage. I’ve never had a moscato before, and apparently I’ve been missing out. It’s fizzy, fruity and fabulous. Youthful, but not childish. Pink Minx is a blend of Madeline Minx and their Zinfandel(the dry red, not the semi sweet white.) It’s a full bodied wine and not overly sweet. In fact, neither the home made biscotti nor the wines have any added sugar. I also tried the Zinfandel. I generally don’t drink red wines, but this one is very accessible. It had just the right amount of oakiness and mellow tannins(I think; I’m a novice.) The venue itself is amazing. I’d love to renew my vows there someday. It’s beautiful. They also have a café. You can make reservations for lunch or dessert and wine tastings by the lake. I tried their Riesling vanilla wine ice cream. It was interesting. Wish I’d gone with chocolate Cabernet instead. Maybe next time. I really love the nature path around the lake. There’s just something that excites me about seeing the darkness of a shaded path through the woods. I saw a lot of small wildlife and heard even more rustling in the underbrush. Make sure you bring sneakers and set aside some extra time for a walk.

My boyfriend and I purchased a Groupon to go here — $ 10 for food and wine tasting for two. For the price we weren’t expecting too much, but we were happily surprised. When we arrived we were seated outside by the lake, definitely a great spot for a date. Our server, who worked in the tasting room told us that we would be getting four wines to try as well as food pairings for each. First came out 2 reds along with turkey sliders and a cheese plate. It was honestly a lot more than we were expecting. The food portions were perfect for two and the wine tastings were generous. Then came out two whites, with biscotti and wine ice cream. We had the chocolate wine ice cream and it was delicious — we ended up buying some to take home. After eating we went back into the tasting room to look around and our server told us about a path you can walk around the lake. If the weather is nice don’t miss it. Overall we had a great experience here, and ended up taking home a bottle of the Minx wine($ 15) and two half pints of ice cream($ 4 each).

I recently attended a wedding reception at Spring Lake and was absolutely shocked at the beautiful setting! The lake is crystal clear and looked gorgeous on the clear Summer day — was the perfect backdrop for photos. Enjoyed the small cabin in the back for additional photo opportunities. The reception area was the perfect size for the wedding party and guests. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I hope to return to this venue for a future wedding. The wine I had during the wedding from the winery was fantastic, no complaints!

I loved my time at this winery. The location is beautiful and well cared for. They have a great space for parties and events and their wine is good! My favorite was the White Minx(close enough if that is not the exact name of the wine), which was light, sweet, and mildly fizzy. The other wines were also good, but I will not pretend to know what I am saying about them. If you stop here I suggest taking time to have lunch and sit by the private lake/pond. It is just as well cared for as the rest of the property and the water is so clear you can see the fish swimming though.

They serve lunch on Sundays. We went for a wine and food pairing recently. They gave us 3 generous portions of wine for the tastings, basically 3 full glasses. They served us a turkey sandwich with mashed avocado and cherry tomatoes. It was simple yet delicious. Next we ate crackers either pesto and hummus. Pretty sure they just bought their hummus at Wegmans but it was still good. For dessert, they served us a large portion of wine ice cream. The wine ice cream was awesome! We bought a container to bring home with us. We only tried 3 of their wines last time. The Zinfandel($ 28 for a bottle) was incredible. They also had 2 Rieslings. They weren’t terrible but I’ve had better.

Beautiful setting — fun«wine & food pairing happy hour» last Saturday. We will return again. Completely disagree with stingy with stars Jess O. The lake & vineyards are such a pretty setting even snow-covered. and very welcoming family and Italian hospitality…

Stylish little winery on the east side of Lockport. Their wines were centered mostly on whites(Rieslings) although they do bring in some California(Mendocino) zinfandel grapes to make a red in the style of the family back home. I bought a glass and walked around their beautiful grounds. Apparently there was going to be a wedding there that weekend as a wedding party showed up and went through their paces. Great entertainment. I liked the zinfandel enough that I bought a second glass, sat on the patio and listened to a 2 piece band had playing for the evening tasting. It made for a nice finish to the our day on the Niagara Wine Trail.

The wine here is not very good(but there were many worse places on the wine trail) and the setting is not very inviting. The guy working there was pleasant enough but I see no reason to return here. Not clear to me that they know what they are doing.
