3 times I have gone in here. All three times the food was good. BUT I am on oxygen and the first time I went in the woman who waited on me rudely asked me several questions about that thing in my nose. Second time she did not do it. Tonight she went on and on and on. I think pretty close to five minutes. And if you heard my tone at all it was clear I was getting annoyed. I have not decided if I should go back or just go to Chop Chop. It does not get any ruder than she was tonight… «Why you wear that? … You wear that all time? How long it last? What happen you not wear that… This is not near all the questions but dayum. All I wanted was to get takeout to come home and enjoy.

This is your classic Chinese deli: big portions, quick and tasty. China Wok had a few standouts for me though. Great value. The combo meals start at $ 4.99 and you get a lot of food. I’m talking overflowing your takeout box portions. Variety. There’s the standards like broccoli beef and orange chicken. But they also have some unique dishes like mussels in garlic sauce. Plenty to choose from whether you want chicken, pork, beef or veggie dishes. Taste. If you want Americanized Chinese food, they do it right. Sure, it’s not exactly health food since most of it is deep fried or greasy. But that’s probably not what you came here for. Everything I tried tasted great: chow Mein, orange chicken, mushroom chicken, Mongolian beef, and especially the crab rangoons(yummy!) Will definitely be back when I want something quick, economical, filling and tasty.

Huge portions for the right price. Get there early if you want fresh food though, at times the food looks dry/old and not stirred. Nevertheless it’s still one of my favorite Chinese spots in Lodi

If you want more reviews on China Wok, then check out the reviews for the Tracey, CA location, they are basically the same. I’d describe China Wok as Lodi’s Panda Express. Its definitely not sit down restaurant quality Chinese food, more like steam table, overly sweet and greasy, Chinese-American style food. But that’s often what I’m looking for, occasionally I want a large plate of greasy Chinese-American food, and China Wok delivers in that aspect. They have large portions, almost too large. I don’t recommend getting more than 1 entrée and 1 side if you plan on dining in. I always order the«mini-meal,» one side, one entrée, one spring roll, and one soda for $ 5, its a great price for a combo meal. Like all steam table Chinese places, the food quality differs based on how recently the food came out., so many of the less popular entrees can sit in the steam table for long periods of time and not taste good. I usually get the chow mein and orange chicken. The chow mein is good– its vegetarian, not overly greasy, and has the taste of carrots and green onions. The orange chicken is better than Panda Express, not terribly sugary, has a balance of orangy and chili taste, and definitely has a more«chickenier,» texture than Panda Express, plus, you get more of it. The other entrée I had was the mushroom chicken, this was also good, it had large pieces of mushroom, but not as much chicken. As for the dining experience itself, the interior has some Chinese decorations and pretty tables. I really like how this place has a soda fountain with free refills, including unsweetened, raspberry, and green iced teas. Plus it has sriracha and soy sauce bottles on the tables instead of in dinky little packets. My biggest complain about this place is that there is no air conditioning– it can get very hot and uncomfortable during the spring and summer, especially sitting next to a window while eating spicy food.
