First of all, their wine tasting facility in downtown Lodi has closed. The only place you are going to get their wine is either a local restaurant or their wine tasting room out on Woodbridge Road. The facility isn’t much. The wine itself is the star of the show. Some of the best reds I’ve tasted in Lodi. The person who poured couldn’t have been more knowledgeable. He didn’t have the«saleman-ey“personality of some of the local wineries, but he obviously knew what he was talking about. His expertise really added to the experience. It sounds like they are going to have a «pick up» party next weekend that I can’t wait to attend. A definite 5 star Lodi experience.

Laurie is an awesome host! She’ll make your wine tasting experience at the downtown tasting room one to remember. Ryan Sherman(winemaker) is known for making some phenomenal red wines. His«Big Red» and«Tempranillo» are probably my favorites, but definitely can’t go wrong with any of the wines.

Ok I lied, I have a minute to write another review! Went here last month for the first time, as it’s next to a bar my friends frequent and I figured I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone, meaning have some port AND see a few friends! The 2 girls who work here are very friendly and engaging. They knew almost every couple/person who walked in while I was there. The man who works there, Chris, is also a photographer and does excellent work. I believe the photos on the wall are taken by him? Regarding the Port I had here. They were not sampling it, so I purchased it. It’s a nice light fruity flavor, that is not overly sweet. I prefer it chilled & strained into a Martini glass.(Not sure if that is how Port is suppose to be sipped?) but hey, it’s MY Port right! They also give out popcorn which is a fun plus. Will be back for more Port, and to chat with Laurie & Chris! Sorry, I totally forget the other woman’s name:-(

Fields easily ranks in my top 5 lodi wineries. They make a very good white cuvee, a Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara, and two blends: the Big Red and my favorite, the Il Ladro. Tasting room is located in downtown lodi and is open until 10pm every during the weekends and is perfect for having a soothing and delicious glass of wine on their outside patio!

Fields Family Wines Downtown Tasting Room is such a great place to drop in & visit. I took a friend here last night for a glass of wine & some shopping. They always seem to have some sort of vender in there selling jewelry, paintings or wine necessities. How fun it is to have a glass of wine & shop at the very same time! The wine bar is so nice. The staff at the tasting room is always friendly & knowledgeable. The outside patio is the best place for summer nights, Farmer’s Markets etc. The facility is extremely clean and well kept. You feel like you step into a classier world when you walk into this tasting room. If you haven’t been here before, drop in. You will be thankful that you did(because Fields Family Wines are the best wines in town!)
