I do not recommend getting a puppy(or any dog for that matter) from this breeder! It’s basically a puppy mill — churning out puppies all year long and using the same breeding stock over and over with little regard for breeding lines or the health of the dogs. Do not believe them if they tell you otherwise. A few years ago my husband and I got a yellow lab puppy from Micons. We brought this puppy home at 8 weeks old(for an astronomical price of just under $ 1,000!) and gave him nothing but love, affection, and good gentle training. At about 5 months old, our puppy turned into a monster. Attacking us for no reason and without warning or provocation. After over 6 months of random attacks that caused serious deep bite wounds and trauma for both my husband and myself — and after spending literally thousands of dollars in special private dog training, the problem was only getting worse and we were forced to euthanize our Micons puppy 1 week shy of his first birthday. After investigating Micons a bit further, I discovered that this was by no means the only dangerously aggressive puppy that has come from this breeder. And what did they say when I told them our puppy was attacking us at 5 months old? «Have you tried whacking him with a rolled up newspaper?» Wow. Healthy, well bred English Lab

I’m going tomorrow to pick up my second dog from Micons and can’t wait to have another great family dog. Repeat business is the best referral I can give but here’s my story: I bought a yellow lab from Micons in 2000. She lived to be just shy of 12, a good age for a lab. She had some medical problems but not until a few years before her death and nothing unexpected for an aging dog. My dog was the best lab we’ve ever had. I grew up with labs and my family has had 5 total so we know labs. Even my parents say our Micons lab was the best one in terms of temperament and intelligence and she looked like a puppy until the day she died. Regarding the breeders and their treatment of the dogs: my recollection is that the grounds and house are clean and well maintained. I also recall that the puppies are brought into the home which I don’t think breeders usually do. I have a preview of the pup we’re getting tomorrow and it’s clear she is clean and the photo was taken in the home. I get that can be a misrepresentation but this photo wasn’t a great shot — slightly fuzzy. If they were trying to «sell» the dog it would have been a much better quality photo and staged. My impression is that they were playing with the pup and decided she was too cute not to take a photo of. I would recommend Micons to anyone looking for a purebred lab.
