We had a group birthday celebration last night. We had a great chef«Lin» he put on a great show and cooked the food excellent. Can’t wait to go back.

Great food. Rude staff, especially the guy at the area to pay. He def reminded me that I was a paycheck.

This place rocks. Great food, great humor(usually), flying knives, flames. What more could you ask for?

We had a fantastic dinner there this evening! Len is not only a great chef, he has a fun personality too. We were wonderfully entertained, and wonderfully fed, and we WILL be going back!

What you would expect of a Hibachi restaurant. The chef was good and entertaining. Food quality was good. Waitstaff could have had a little more personality, but overall a good experience. We’ll be back!

This used to be one of our favorite places but it has been going down down down with each visit! But after our last visit, we won’t go back! They didn’t get our order right so they turned the food that was brought out with the chef from 2 orders into 3 instead of going back to get what they needed. It had no flavor and they overcharged us. Also the service was HORRIBLE!!! When we took the bill up to get it fixed, the lady(owner) was so rude and accused us of trying to get something free!!! Went so far as to say we had done it before, which is not true! The next day I looked up their health certificate inspection and it is BAD!!! Dirty, filthy, infested kitchen!!! We will never go here again!!!

What sets Shi Ra Soni 2 apart from other Habachi grill restaurants is the amazing garlic fried rice. Other than that, it’s basically the same as all the others. However, last time I ate there I almost left right off the bat because the water brought to the table tasted like the smell of a fish tank. Yes, I said it, the smell of a fish tank. They obviously hadn’t cleaned their water filter in a very very long time for it to taste almost swampy. Also, it didn’t help that it took the waitress way too long to even come back for a drink order after dropping off the fish tank water. Makes me wonder what else back in the kitchen they don’t clean properly, yikes.

I absolutely love this place. The food from the grill is awesome. If you’re only going to sushi, I would suggest going somewhere else

We come here regularly and always enjoy the experience. We sat on the sushi side today. Unfortunately the server we had was terrible. He had almost no knowledge of the menu and couldn’t answer a few simple questions. Other servers were refilling drinks and he took so long we ended up paying up front. My friend asked if she could order the karate chop and he asked what the karate chop was. One of the most popular items on the grill menu and he just seemed clueless all around. He ran off to ask if it was okay then comes back saying yes, she can order that from the grill. After leaving again he comes back to ask how she wants it cooked. Upon receiving our food we had an incident where one of the rolls had a string of thread in it from a hand towel. After giving the«where’s our server look» for 10 minutes he finally makes an appearance. We told him and he says«Uhm. Let me tell my manager about it.» And runs off. A woman came over and was very apologetic and helpful. She offered to make another roll with no change. The chef came over as well to personally apologize which was very thoughtful. We understand these things happen and If it weren’t for the rest of the staff, aside from our server, we would probably not be back. They always provide great service so we still decided to tip and hopefully our server will get the training he needs.

This used to be my go to place for special occasions, or even just a quick dinner in the sushi area. After my past few visits, the service has gotten worse. The servers are rude, rushed, and inattentive. My experience last night helped me to decide to not come back to this location. I arrived during the dinner rush at 6pm with a party of 4. We decided to sit in the sushi area since it was nearly empty there. Combined, we ordered 5 sushi rolls and a shrimp flambé. 30 minutes later we finally got our drinks, nearly 45 minutes after being seated we got half of our order. After being there for an hour and a half they tried to bring the remaining 2 sushi rolls and got one of the orders wrong. At this point I just wanted my check and wanted to go home. They threw together the last sushi roll and I said I didn’t want it anymore, everyone was done eating and I just wanted to leave. The server then threw the sushi roll in a to go container, and I again insisted that I did not want it and just wanted my check. After 2 hours I finally get the check. They tried to charge me for the horrendous sushi roll thrown into a to go container and at that point I didn’t care I just wanted to leave, I felt like I was being held in sushi hostage! The hostess who rang me up apologized and said both the sushi chef and waitress were new, which they weren’t, I’ve seen both of them over the past few months. She then asked if I wanted to leave a tip, I said absolutely not! I will not be back after this terrible experience, I’d rather drive to the stockton location!

Great service, good food. I wish they had spicy sauce in addition to their yummy and goody sauces, but overall a fun place to go with a group.

This is always my favorite place to go for a date night with my husband. The food is delicious and the service is always excellent. We always share a meal with garlic fried rice and we leave satisfied!

The food was okay. The servers are polite and the gentleman that was cooking our food took his little show a bit too far. Someone had an order with shrimp and he was throwing the shrimp tails at us. Extremely rude and not funny at all

Definitely our favorite place to eat in Lodi. Date nights or when we take the kid with us, it always proves to be a good time. Staff is very friendly, food is excellent, and even though I’m not a huge sushi fan, it’s pretty darn good too. My husband and I share a roll and a meal with extra vegis(cause those are our fav), and it’s plenty of food for both of us. I highly recommend the garlic fried rice too.

Probably one of the better sushi/Japanese restaurants in lodi. The service is pretty good. Usually they don’t have enough chefs on duty so the wait can be pretty long, especially during peak hours.

Ehhh not my favorite place. I used to love coming here when I was younger. But I guess as you get older you expect a little more out of a restaraunt than entertainment and good food. Which they have both. But I’m not a huge fan of the service. I find it to be an on going pattern lately I’m never really satisfied with service where I go but this place did it to me with the guy sitting at the front desk. Not helpful and not friendly just sitting there, eating. This is definitely a place I think needs a host/hostess it’s a confusing setup like where can I sit? You’re there for a reason aren’t you? You can’t tell me to take a seat anywhere or show me to my seat? I don’t know it’s just off here. And something about my meal this time didn’t sit right. It’s unfortunate because the food is excellent normally and our waitress was extremely friendly. But I can’t see myself going back. I’ll stick to what I know with Asian food. King tsin and shangri la.

I can’t believe I just got refused service because I said I wanted to have just saki bombs! I was told it’s against policy to drink without ordering food, I’ve never been told that at the Stockton location. Maybe after a few drinks I might have decided to get food, they just lost a potentially great customer.

I have been here once with my aunt, uncle, mother and father for dinner because we didn’t know where else to go. This place is pretty much just like a Benihana Restaurant. Sure it is all fun to see the teppanyaki chefs create your meals right before your very eyes and even make a pretty neat looking volcano out of onions, but honestly, the food here is overly priced and way too oily! Not only do these chefs put oil and butter on their grill and add oil and butter to your food while cooking it, but if you do not watch them carefully, they will actually add some butter to your rice and vegetables under the table while they are preparing for the show on their grill. I honestly do not like eating at these types of places because the food never really taste authentic. This place is definitely catered towards your typical America let’s just say. I guess one thing going for this place is the tricks your chef puts on for you(but that depends on the chef you get… some chefs can be really flashy and showy and some can just do a show with stiffness, quite a difference). Anyways, there is plenty of parking here and can crowded on weekends. Overall, not sure I would come back here, but the food was decent(but way too oily and buttery for me. Make sure you tell them you don’t want the butter and oil right away before they add it on under the table, unless you are like Paula Dean and like to eat butter by the sticks).

Had a really poor experience the other night. The sushi was really sloppy and had a lot of rice, the server was really inattentive, and the worst part was not just finding a hair in our last roll of sushi, but being glared down by the sushi chef when it was obviously his. They started making another one without even asking us, but I am not trying to eat after finding this dudes hair tangled in my chopsticks. They were a little snippy when we just wanted the roll off our bill(we had only eaten 3 pieces) and there was a barely muttered apology from the manager. I just didn’t really feel good about the quality of the sushi or the service.
