Sushi was fresh and well prepared. Service was fast! Solid local place for sushi cravings.

I LOVELOVELOVETHISPLACE! there is only one thing that I get and its the Spicy Shrimp Tempura Roll! Even though I have tried their other items on their menu but this particular roll will have you coming back for more. Kim is wonderful… she’s always giving you her undivided attention. Thank you Kim and to the amazing sushi chefs! You will NOT be disappointed!

I met a good friend here for lunch one day for catch up. As I glanced through the menu, I noted how pricey the lunch specials were especially when compared to other sushi locales in the vicinity. The waitress was quick to put our order in. I had just sat down. In the end, we opted to share the seafood ramen and the salmon lovers sushi special. The ramen was quite good. Not the best I’ve had in the past when there are ramen houses dedicated to making the perfect bowl of ramen. Therefore, I don’t think I would order this again but was glad I fulfilled my curiousity. The waitress was informed we were sharing and provided us spare bowls and spoons. At one point, she even stepped in to assist with putting noodles into my bowl for me. I thought I was doing fine but it was appreciated. I felt like a child again and my mom was helping me. It was sweet of her. The salmon sushi was delicious. The order came with 4 pieces of sashimi, a salmon avocado roll, quite a few pieces of salmon sushi, and one cooked salmon sushi. The salmon sushi seemed fresh and tasted great. It was definitely very good and I would like to have their sushi again in the future. Afterwards, we sat there for quite some time even though the bill had been paid just to catch up. The staff were very sweet and did not rush us out the door since they had plenty of available tables. That is always appreciated. We would have left if it got busy. So it was nice they let us just sit there and chat. I would definitely recommend this place but realize it is a bit pricier than other sushi restaurants nearby.

Just ate a VERY delicious lunch. Chicken teriyaki with side of sushi(6 pieces! Normally they give Cali roll but I wanted spicy tuna which they had no problem with), plus salad, and dumplings plus miso soup. Plenty of food! Normally $ 12 for everything but mine came to $ 15 because I added avocado and cucumber. It was SO worth it! Very pleasantly surprised!!! Excellent flavor to the teriyaki and roll was done to perfection! Definitely coming back!

My co-worker had a fly in her food and the rude lady had the audacity to make her pay for half of her food! We had been regular customers, but will not be going back.

I am in love with this place. Shrimp tempura roll and spider roll are delicious! Their shrimp dumplings are good. Ice cream tempura is a MUSTHAVE! You have to try it at least once, you won’t regret it. Their specialty rolls are phenomenal. More on the pricey side but worth every penny. Place is small so not much seating area and can be hard to miss if you aren’t paying attention. It’s seriously a gem though.

Ordered for the second time and the sushi was just as good as the 1st time. I really enjoyed the Mango Roll. It was so good. The problem is the woman who answered the phone when I called was so rude!!! She rushed through the call and when she didn’t understand me(which was most of the call) she would snap at me. It is such a shame since the sushi is so good.

So conflicted here. I love the food but hate their service. I literally come in here cringing all the time because I feel like I’m going to get yelled at by my mommy. If we show up 40 min before closing time the grumpy waitress always makes it a point to remind us that their closing. Even once offering we take our food to go. When I refused and wanted to walk out she insisted we sit. We did. Then she had the nerve to ask us to pay before we finish eating. It’s like a Seinfeld episode with soup nazi. Only she’s the sushi nazi. Def had enough!

I had the Seafood Udon soup, the noodles where to perfection. What a LARGE portion of the best soup, I was pleasantly surprised. I found it to be a lovely place to sit alone, look out the window and get lost in my thoughts. If I lived in the state/area, I would be there every meal, its just a warm and cozy, welcoming place to be, and in my case, it was a bright stop/spot in my sadden situation at the time.

I love this restaurant. I always try to come here when ever I’m in the area. The restaurant is small but they make delicious sushi. The rolls are big and fresh. Not to mention the service is great!

Ambiance/Décor/Atmosphere: Relatively small and plain with a few seats. But, the décor resembles what you would expect from a sushi house except with minimal decorations. Noise/sound level: Normal or quiet, doubt this place gets packed and the staff inside do not speak loud enough to disturb you. Menu: Pretty large really; mix of Korean and Japanese cuisine, all sorts of appetizers, sushi and sashimi combos, and dinner assortments. There are common items among other sushi houses, but also many other items that other places don’t have. There are even items not actually on the menu, but have pictures you can still order. Service: The staff was friendly and not pushy, even the older woman owner who others claim she was rude and offensive. Food: My wife had a california roll, steamed shumai, and I ordered bibimbap and the fried soft shell crab; then we shared a sweet potato roll because she doesn’t eat raw fish. The pickled ginger was typical, wasabi was fresher than others, but the rolls weren’t that tight. I suspect the rice wasn’t sticky enough, but nonetheless they were tasty. The bibimbap wasn’t neatly organized as per typically served but it was delicious. The sesame oil/seed combination mixed with the gochujang on the side really set the dish off. The soft shell crab was done tempura style and it was quite a big portion for an appetizer, but you only get two large chunks of claw meat. The meal ended with free tempura fried oreos and some probiotic drink to aid in digestion. Bar: No bar, but didn’t ask if the place allowed BYOB, probably do but I’m not one to drink while eating sushi. Price: Prices vary from cheap to expensive depending on what you order. You can either splurge here, or pick out lesser priced items and have a value kind of meal. Overall: People in Bergen county expect to be waited on hand and foot and if they don’t get their way they will complain to the ends of the earth. The elderly woman owner is clearly not American, not born here, so her culture and ethics are different than the pretentious people in Bergen county. She is crotchety, but generally appears to be a warm and inviting lady. If you come into any restaurant near closing time I’m sure any owner will give the customer a tough time, especially when it’s time to shut it down. The menu is very large and some items are ridiculously overpriced, but you cannot get them anywhere else. Is it the best Korean fare in a sushi house?; probably not, but given the location it’s definitely worth a repeat visit. Don’t let the little old lady scare you.

Food quality — 4⁄5 Food quantity — 4⁄5 Service — 1⁄5 Ambience — 2.5÷5 The sushis are excellent and you can taste the freshness. It’s pretty cheap as well. The only reason I give 3⁄5 overall is because of the service. The lady at the front counter is not very welcoming. Ignoring that fact fabulous food.

The food is awesome! Loved everything I try. The edamame, spicy ramen and fried ice cream is my dinner at least once a week! The chicken katsudon is amazing! Mix of fried chicken rice and egg. Kim is always there and very sweet! Fresh and tasty food every single time! Must go!

If a nice sit down place is the appropriate setting this is not your place. If good sushi at a little more than a reasonable price is this is the best around. I find their sushi to be extremely fresh, and their one chef is a very nice guy. The woman running the place can be a bit shakey at times, but the quality here lies in the food. 5 stars for quality 2 stars for dining and 3 for customer service.

Very disappointed by rude service here. Tolerated it a few times but Wont be going back for sure. I understand we are all human and can have a bad day from time to time but waitress lady here seems to be on forever grumpy mode. You don’t feel welcome and ordering a take out with her makes you feel like you just ran over a box of kittens with a tractor. If you order or attempt to order within 30⁄45 minutes of closing time, she gets beyond annoyed and insists«you come in ten minute ok!» Its not that i wait to order on purpose, i have a job that keeps me there until very late. I do my best to be considerate but if you are acting like my order annoys you every time, my money will be spent elsewhere

These people probably know me well since I order take out from them often. I LOVE sushi. When I moved to Hackensack, I was on the hunt for my local sushi joint. Sushi café took the prize. They are affordable without having stinky fish. Yes, the woman behind the counter does not speak the best english, but she is incredibly determined to get your food order right. I have had many issues with translation, but she always is helpful in fixing the mistake. You just have to be nice about it. I’m sure it is frustrating for her. Try their mexican roll! It’s the best i’ve had around here.

So expensive! Even the lunch specials are pricey. Definitely will not be back. I was told to order at the counter when I was ready and pay at the counter when I got my check but when a group walked in they were served like regular sit down customers. So I am not sure if this place is order/pay at counter or a sit down restaurant. The lady server may also come off as rude. When the phone rings, she will pick up the phone as you are ordering. So don’t put your head down and read the menu as you order or you will be utterly confused. I understand it gets busy during lunch especially with one server and one chef but common courtesy goes a long way(ie. excuse me, I will be right back, give me one second or all of the above).

So glad to have discovered this place recently! It’s been here for a while but for some reason never noticed/tried it. Not many sushi spots in my area, the other place in Rochelle Park that I have been going to for a while now is fairly decent but take out only. This place is dine in, and has better sushi. Very clean. Not NYC standards but lets be fair & realistic… pretty good for the $ & area. Have eaten here twice already AND they deliver!!! So when the cravings hit… this is my new spot!
