Always go here for a quick lunch at school. They close earlier than the school cafeteria but I like this place because of the fresh options. I usually get the haystack but it’s really big and I think ideally it should be shared or saved for later. I like that they offer some sort of discount for students and employees.

I’m not a vegetarian but I do like vegetarian food sometimes. The sandwich that I like the most there is the Ortega burger. The garden burger is also good which I think is comparable to the one from Farmer Boys. Farmer boys is a lot more expensive though so if you’re on a budget, the garden burger is pretty good here. I know the Haystack is a hit from a bunch of students that I have talked to or seen eat there. The prices here are cheap which it should be since it’s on campus, and the quality is still pretty good.

This is a great and convenient place to eat between classes. I love the avocado sandwich and their other choices are tasty too, and I’m not even vegetarian. Its a little pricey for me so I go there to treat myself lol.

I had a DELICIOUS avocado sandwich! I am not a vegetarian, but I am a curious person. The price is soo economical, no excuse to stop by your local dollar menu. It could have been the weather, but the women behind the counter could have been a little nicer, especially seeing I was so excited to try the food. I am a VERY happy camper!

The lady that works behind the counter is awesome, but the attitude of their student was so indifferent. Made my burrito, didn’t even wrap it and was about to put it in the box. The lady was the saving grace. She told the student to put it back down and wrapped it properly and then boxed it. Food here tastes okay. Lady behind counter is awesome.

Stopped here after a visit to the VA. Kinda hard to find but sooooooo worth it. Yes, it’s cafeteria style. But again-worth it! I had the avocado sandwich on squaw. Everything was fresh and tasty. But let me tell you… Best regular potato salad ever! Not too sweet, no yucky onions… Just good fresh flavor!

Thinking about fast food? Eat here instead. You will save money, get more food and eat 100% more healthy. I like the California burger.

This is my favorite place to get a really fresh sandwich! Lots of healthy ingredients at a good price, especially if you are a LLU student. I love the haystacks too. It’s basically like a huge unmixed layered taco salad. Lines can be long, so plan your visit strategically. Note that they are only open for lunch on the weekdays.

Okay. A little hard to find if you’re not expecting this to be a cafeteria on a college campus. This is located in a mini shopping area attached to a campus market and Mane Street Hair Design. I was a little disappointed w it being a cafeteria since I am not a student and am free to venture practically anywhere to get food. I didn’t really notice it was noon and should be high peak lunch hours for students and staff bc it was empty when I walked in. The idea of cafeteria food can be a turnoff. I gave it a try anyway. I find it kinda funny now that the service here is pretty indifferent. It’s exactly how you imagine cafeteria staff at a school would be. They don’t really give a $&@/. Lol they make your sandwich and just throw everything on there. I ordered an avocado sandwich w sprouts, no lettuce, Swiss cheese, pickles, tomato, purple onions, mayo and whole wheat bread. It came w a choice of veggies and fruit or a potato salad. I got the veggies and fruit. It was $ 4 and some change. Sandwich was pretty good for $ 4. They also serve burritos and salads and have an array of juices and sodas. I’m trying to eat light and healthier today. :p

This is favorite place to eat on campus, I recommend the chicken salad on Squaw bread. It’s great for the price too. Tip: smile at the people making your food, and be nice for goodness sake. I walked in last week and the girl asked me why I was smiling so much, in which I replied,“I always smile, can’t help it!” She mentioned that the patrons aren’t very friendly, and rarely smile. Come on people, this is Loma Linda. Be nice. This place is a hidden gem.

CHEAP for the quantity of food you get — especially if you’re a student. It is cafeteria like, but they have reasonable healthy options. Only complaint — they’re not open on Sundays. :(:(:(

It’s hard to find a healthy options restaurant that is affordable near me. I get the chicken salad sandwich w/potato salad and I drive 20 min to get it. I’ve lost weight eating vegetarian, and it tastes great. Cheaper than Subway! Yay!

When reviews say it’s like a cafeteria, it really is. I went to check out a vegetarian place a lot I reviewers loved but instead, I felt like a broke college student and I have made better veggie sandwiches. I actually went for the chickpea salad(which I also make at home) but they only have veganaise on the side, it’s made with mayo. So I definitely wasn’t pleased. The rice and beans were horrible as well. If you live in the area and are in fact a broke college student, then I can see why you would go there. Staff was okay. Not rude, not nice either. Wouldn’t return. A nice little health shop next door though.

If you don’t mind the wait(they have been getting faster.), it’s an excellent lunch getaway! Quite a few options and they do offer some vegan options, but be sure to know what you’re ordering ahead of time. Some days lines can move very slow. CA burgers are delicious!

This is my Friday lunch spot with coworkers. The food is Ok, the atmosphere feels like a cafeteria, and they don’t always have everything on the menu. However, it is a good place to go if you are crunched for time and the cafeteria in the student services center isn’t cutting it. Depending on your mood, you may want to get the chili fries with all the fixings on top(basically turning it into a haystack made with french fries) or, for lighter fare, I recommend the cold cut sub with jalapenos.

Growing up semi-vegetarian, my mom always shopped at the Loma Linda market for supplies you could not find at the local store. During those trips we would also go to the Patio Pantry as a treat. As an adult I still love the place, although I cook myself more than eat out these days. I have always enjoyed the California burger, and it is good to know there is a place where you can eat a vegetarian meal, or just get something if you are tired of meat that day. Back before eating veg and vegan was the hip thing to do, this place was around and catering to the students at Loma Linda University. I used to love their fresh squeezed carrot juice, and it was a bit sad when they took that machine away.

A surprisingly good veggie burger from the most unlikely of places; a hospital cafeteria. For some reason, this was one of the strangest and most disorganized experiences I’ve ever had in a cafeteria(awkward employee disagreements, a warning from a customer while i was eating about bad avocado two days ago, someone screeched at me for«stealing» pickles from the salad bar, and finding a hair on my tomato) but if I ever get desperate enough on the way home from yoga again, I’d probably come back. 1 star for customer service and overall comfort 3 stars for the actual food

Aww kind of dissapointed to see somewhat bad reviews. It’s always pretty yummy and everything is vegetarian. I usually get the California burger which is their own vegetarian patty with avocado with one of their daily soups. I’ve tried their Indian and Mexican cuisine which is OK but always go back to the veggie burger. If only I had their recipe! They have good prices and portions on their daily specials. The lines can get long from 11:30am-1pm because this place is mostly frequented by students and employees. Discounts are given to staff and students, but the food is pretty cheap as is so if you are in the area stop by. I have never eaten anything I haven’t liked here and I am pretty picky with my foodies. Right next door is the Loma Linda Market which is a vegetarians small market paradise. Only downside is you are standing in line awhile due to slow service.
