This is a review for LOFT, not Ann Taylor. Seems like this store was understaffed, especially for being in a mall. The staff were not attentive and did not check in on me in the fitting room. The employees were very nice and made effort when I hunted them down for help though, so there’s that. I loved the petites section! There is a lot of selection at this location, which made me happy. The store was well-organized and clean too.

Please note: this is a LOFT store. I don’t know why, but I always forget there is a LOFT in Yorktown Center(mall) and drive an extra three miles to the LOFT in Oakbrook Center(mall) for no good reason. I can practically walk to Yorktown Center! The Yorktown store is just as big if not bigger than the Oakbrook store, appears to have just as large(or maybe I should say just as *small*) a selection of petite items, and is similarly understaffed. I had called looking for a pair of shorts in a particular style, color and size — the guy on the phone sounded put out by my request — but he found the shorts and put them aside for me. The salesperson who rang up my purchase was much more courteous and friendly.

It should be noted that this is a LOFT store, not Ann Taylor. Yes, they are the same company but completely different stores at completely different price points. That being said, I’m a fan. I’ve added LOFT to my retail shopping rotation. They have nice casual pieces as well as work appropriate items. They have a great sales section and they are always running a promotion where you can take an additional percentage off of sale items. They also offer price adjustments, I believe up to 14 days which is great because it seems they always have a promo going on after you already made a purchase. For example, I just got 2 tops that were around $ 30/each. They now have a promo 3/$ 35 on mix and match shirts and the 2 shirts I just got were included. I brought them back to the store, picked out a 3rd one and had them do an adjustment. They ended up owing me money plus I walked out with more than I came in with. I don’t have a store credit card here, so I can’t comment on those benefits.

Friendly staff and clean store. The one thing that they lack would be asking someone if they can start a fitting room while they parade around the store with an armful of clothes. This could only help sell more clothes if you ask me, as people would have more room to grab other things to try on. Just a thought!

This store wasn’t bad. Pretty average, actually. The employees were nice, although I was carrying an armful of clothing and it would have been nice if someone had offerred to start a fitting room for me. I went in to try things on without assistance and ended up buying a couple of items anyway. I mean, not the greatest Loft experience I’ve ever had. But it wasn’t negative. Just average, like I said.

I am not a fan of the loft, just the regular AT, but I was kind of blown away by the nice boutiquey feel of this location. I came in during my lunch hour this past week to browse and see if anything piqued my interest and found a fab pair of leather flats that were calling my name. Very nicely appointed, good variety of early fall attire on display, and friendly staff. The discounted area in the rear corner was not bad! Which is always a surprise, instead of the usual half-torn and dusty leftovers. The best place to park to access this location is by the food court/Ed Debevics and then take either the escalator or the elevator up – it’s adjacent to the immediate food court area, towards the JC Penney.
