As befitting the weather, it was time for the Frosty Claws event, a charitable fundraiser that benefits the feral cat population in this area. The program TNR trap, neuter, release helps find safe grounds for cats that have been lost, dumped, or born as strays. The recently refurbished VFW in Villa Park was the location for this event and it was nice to see a pretty decent showing. Cost? 15.00 at the door; but pre-registered members got in for 10.00. This organization put on a really nice lunch buffet, as well as a multitude of desserts to benefit their program. A raffle, silent auction, and a cool assortment of pet blankets, beds, and orthopaedic pads were also available for purchase. The organizers did a nice job, it was low key and low pressure in terms of being informative versus being overly informative. I just wish they hadn’t run out of coffee. Two friends foster feral colonies in the area and this is one super important way to control the stray population. It was a lot of fun and I understand they hold this yearly. So, 4 paws up for Frosty Claws by the Dupage chapter of Feral Fixers. Nice work and keep it up!
