Excellent healthy food and the girls serving us were very nice and professional. The vegetable bowl comes with spice ginger sauce and is absolutely delicious. We were really surprised by the quality of the food here, highly recommended!

The food is very good. And the staff are very kind. We left one bag in the restaurant. They waited us until we made a phone call. All the ID and the money are in the bag. Thanks very much to the manager.

I come through Lompoc every couple of years as part of a big cycling event. Usually the only decent food we can find is Mexican — nothing wrong with that, but it’s heavy and not at the top of anyone’s healthy food list. So I was surprised to see that an Asian-Fusion place had popped up since my last visit, and decided to try it, with rather low expectations. So I was delighted and almost shocked to find that it wasn’t just decent, it’s good! The food is mostly Japanese-inspired, with a variety of udon and soba noodle soup dishes and rice bowls, among other things. I had the poke tuna bowl, with a little concern — where would they get fresh ahi in Lompoc? — but it WAS fresh, or at least it tasted that way to me. The portion was large and could have been two meals for a smaller person. The service was friendly and fast. I’m impressed, and I’ll be back!

I don’t usually write negative reviews but this place SUCKS! I went for the first time today and I’m not coming back and I hope you don’t lose out on your time and money! The Bad: Customer Service — the manager + ownership must be pinching pennies — I ordered a wine and never got it. So I asked if it was possible to just add a side of egg rolls instead of the wine since I was in a hurry waiting for my take out. The egg rolls are 5.95 — the wine I never got was 5. The manager was so cheap that she didn’t want to refund my 5 for the wine or exchange egg rolls for the inconvenience. I waited for 20 mins and saw multiple people not get served in time, so they left. Now I understand why the food taste cheap. Nothing personal but if you eat here after this post. You must love highly processed MSG food. P. S. I called and asked about a Menu and they said the Unilocal photos are their menu — should have been a red flag! AND the food looks nothing like the photos — I’m guessing they wrote these 4 star reviews too.

Had the spicy chicken bowl. Lots of food, rice vegetables, chicken. Bowl with a drink was about $ 15. Great food at a good price

AWESOME place to eat in a little city called Lompoc! Me and the wifey are from out of town. Unfortunately we have run into a string of bad luck since our vacation with places messing up our order or rude waiters. So with our fingers crossed, we tried eating at Chow-Ya. Wow, finally the bad luck streak ended! GREAT food and you have to try the Korean seafood udon noodle soup! It comes in a massive bowl(i’m serious) and they don’t skimp on the seafood! The soup is big enough really for 2 – 3 people! We also ordered the lobster & scallop rice and noodle bowl which was also delicious. The waitress was attentive and FINALLYSOMEONEWHODIDNOTMESSUPOURORDER!!! So to the staff of Chow-Ya, kudos and we will be back! So here you are folks, do I hear a drum roll and round of applause!!!

I had heard so many great things about this place so we decided to give it a try. I was very impressed! They decorated it nicely with a clean finish. Food was hot, fresh, and full of flavor! In fact, great portions and enough leftover for lunch. Staff was friendly and attentive. This is a new favorite of mine!

It was wrong of me to expect real ramen at a place that is not strictly a ramen house, but to serve instant ramen?!? The broth and noodles were very suspiciously similar to that of Shin ramen with a few vegetables chopped up and thrown in. After this experience, I wonder what else in this restaurant is instant food? I’m not willing to give a second chance until I actually see the kitchen.

First time here. Good experience and overall a fair deal. Ordered the crispy tofu salad, served a pretty large portion which was more then enough and taste great… Over ate and I’m stuffed! So portion to price I feel is fair, Prompt service and food was ready in little to no time. Atmosphere was so-so surrounding table just along the walls, Just a bit plain with an open layout which is just a personal preference I guess. Will return to try other dishes.

Driving through the area on a work trip, however came here because it’s raining, cold and I wanted some good soup. Also, not even going to lie, because it’s near an Air Force base and I thought that was pretty cool. Let me tell you, this is honestly the best soup I’ve ever had in my life. That’s coming all the way from Chicago, and living in Los Angeles for the past three years. The girls are super nice inside as well. I got the grilled chicken thick noodle soup and pork egg rolls. Those were AMAZING. Honestly, I’d drive back up here 3 hours to eat here again, haha. That’s probably really crazy though. Will undoubtably stop here again anytime I’m remotely in the area.

Great service and great food. I got the Buttered garlic shrimp bowl, defiantly would get it again. Super large portions, so we took home a lot of leftovers. Will defiantly be back soon to bring friends and family. Thanks so much!

Outstanding experience with a large group for a work lunch(employee send-off). I usually rate this restaurant 4 stars(I don’t give out many 5-star reviews), but the service and preparedness for our large group bumps this review to 5-stars. I reserved a table with 16 seats the day before with no problem and I called them the next day 30 mins before opening to let them know that we need 24 seats. They had no problem with this and our table was completely set up at opening time(11am). Service was phenomenal! All diners got their food and drinks promptly. Everyone got what they ordered, and the food came out hot/fresh for everyone. I randomly asked some attendees what they thought of chow ya afterwards and I didn’t get any negative comments. I was impressed that the restaurant kept up with 24 people. We had one waitress and she was flawless. The kitchen was definitely prepared for such an influx. As always, the food was great! I got the spicy ramen with beef and egg this time. Very flavorful, packed with tons of umami with bulgogi-marinated beef, poached egg, and various treasures hidden within to include fresh shitake. If you’re looking for a going-away lunch venue or for any reason that would require a large group, I highly recommend that you consider Chow Ya instead of the usual suspects within Lompoc/Orcutt/Santa Maria.

A frequent visitor, mostly to take away… Every single time, the spicy pork and combo bowls are delicious, with perfectly cooked vegetables and tender flavorful meats… After reading the other great reviews, I’m thinking there are new items on my wish list… Tuna Poke for one! Clean, nice simple décor but still comfortable… Does tend to be cold inside but hey, I’ll bring a sweater… Very nice staff, quick service, decent prices, what more does one need?

This is my first time with this restaurant and I ordered take-out. I ordered the Hawaiian Poke Tuna bowl and loved it! The spice is not overpowering, it’s just right. Came with good amount of rice, salad and tuna. I would’ve liked to have gotten some of the crispy wonton skins though. Also got miso soup on the side. I can already see myself as a regular here because I want to try out the other menu items! I will be updating my star ratings once I dine in, but I’m sure it’s worth 5 stars.

I wanted to really like this place; sadly, I was disappointed. We ordered the jumbo shrimp appetizer– relatively flavorless. The sauce– SALTY! We ordered the beef bulgoki bowl– SALTY!!! Though the veggies were nicely done, the beef was only consumable when mixed with copious amounts of white rice. The other bowl we ordered was the spicy sweet chili chicken– fair at best. Totally something I could prep at home. For a «healthy«option, it was a salt watcher’s nightmare! On top of which, the flavor just wasn’t that good.
