Love this family and their restaurant. They are always so friendly and the food is always fresh and good. I always get mini burritos(chili verde or pastore) and guacamole. Both are great with the perfect mix of flavors. If you haven’t tried El Palmar, you need to go and support this local family restaurant.

The ONLY thing missing from this place is a SALSABAR! The salsa they serve has a tomato soupy taste to it, which really doesn’t go good on tacos or burritos. I do however love the freshly made tortillas. They are easily the best and most authentic in Lompoc! Fish tacos are excellent and the meats are deliciously seasoned. Overall, I’d easily rate this place 4 stars but not having a salsa bar, for me, makes all the difference. I really hope the restaurant owners read this review and add a salsa bar there in the middle of the restaurant where it’s pretty empty.

Good salsa! Decent homemade tortillas, and delicious pastor. Asada was bad — mushy and flavorless(almost tasted boiled). Same for the chicken. I was excited to get fish tacos because of a picture on Unilocal. They had the tiniest sliver of fish and weren’t tasty at all. It didn’t quite set in just how bland everything(except pastor) was until we left. Pretty disappointing, as we felt the need to find a good taco after leaving. Will stick with Flori’s from now on.

Hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant in Lompoc, quite possibly California since I live in Orange County. Their super shrimp quesadillas are one of my favorites. This place makes all the tortillas fresh every morning and you can taste the difference. The burritos are giant and delicious as well. The best thing about el palmar besides the nice owners and staff are the chips and salsa! There is a reason why they won 2nd place in a Santa Barbara country salsa competition. This place is a must for any occasion.

Best carne asada and Pastor burrito in town. Their tortillas are home made, fresh and amazingly good! Everything is always made to order! With that being said, it does take a very long time to get your food. It is worth the wait, and we always know to order ahead of time! So if you have the time it’s worth the try!!!

Tried their combo plate with a chicken enchilada and a chile relleno, it was pretty good. I do think it is definitely overpriced and I ordered to go and they took pretty long to give me my food!

I would love to get a comment on the food but never received my order. Arrived at 5:55PM and left at 7:38PM never receiving our dinner. It wasn’t even made as we were leaving. Worse place ever to try and sit down and relax with three hungry kids who have no patience. The waitress was very nice though. Would never waste my time coming to eat here again!

A humble place with a great menu! For those who aren’t aware, there are different cuisines in Mexico, depending on where you are. It’s not all tacos and burritos. Because the owners are from Nayarit(near Puerto Vallarta), they feature many fish-based dishes. The salsa is spicy and flavorful — if you want it ever spicier, you can ask nicely for some chopped jalpenos. They aim to please, so make sure you tell them if you want it raw or roasted. It’s definitely an authentic experience. And it’s amusing to hear music from a completely different region while you’re sitting there. Everything is made in house and fresh — tortillas, salsa, etc. While I give them high marks, I recognize that they don’t have everything I like, so I’m happy to go other places. The man and I seriouslycan’t figure out why anyone in this town goes to Taco Hell when you can get real, authentic, fresh mex cuisine at places like this!!! Also, it’s pretty clean, and you’ll feel comfortable going to the bar next door and using the bathroom.

This place is located next to a nice bar. You can order your food while sitting at the bar and they will bring it over to you. The tacos are outstanding! Freshly made tortillas!! yum:)

Wow. Best crane asada I’ve ever eaten. I ordered my sopes with chicken, chile verde and asada. They were all good but if you have the choice… go asada. My husband, the chile rellano freak gave his meal a 4 out of 5

This restaurant is small but cozy. You can still bring group of people and pull 2 tables together. Trust me, this food is worth coming for. Homemade tortillas, delisious burritos, tacos, enchiladas and Chile rellenos. I’ve seen how the shrimp cocktails look but will for sure order next. I’m for sure going to be a regular here. Everything is homemade.

Yum! A great post wine tasting snack. The el pastor, shrimp, and fish tacos were all great. And the house salsa is spicy but good!

This wasn’t our first choice today because our usual spot was closed. I looked at reviews and we decided to try this place. We ordered some burritos and was not disappointed. I had the shrimp burrito which tasted great. There was so much shrimp I couldn’t finish it all. The other burrito was a carne asada and my boyfriend liked it. The salsa wasn’t our type of familiarity but I enjoyed it with the burrito. Will come again to try something else tasty!

We have quite a few Mexican restaurants in Lompoc, but this is my absolute favorite place. Their food is consistently good and the staff always smiley and friendly.
