Now operated by Sodexo they offer a nice salad bar buffet in addition to usual bar setting. Prices right for quality.

Tri Tip Wednesdays… yeah, that’s what all the craze is on base. Not really that big of a deal. This place is a nice option on base when you’ve forgotten to bring a lunch and have the options of a) Burger King b) frozen freezer-burnt pot-pie from the office freezer stash or c) gnawing on your arm! It’s not that bad, it’s decent. It’s buffet, military style, with nice carpeting, big round tables and linens to wipe the sauce off your face. I’ve eaten here a few times now and I consider it a decent place to get a round, filing no-thrills meal for a flat rate of about 10 smackers. Service is good and honestly it’s the best option for warm food not from your lunch bag or the microwave.

A group of twenty of us had a conference for 4 days at the Pacific Coast Club. We operated out of the«Warrior Room,» which was large and accommodating with outlets and two projectors and a center console allowing us to hook up our laptop and show our power points on both. The rooms had no AC, however the staff was fantastic! They constantly brought in pitchers of ice cold water even during their busy lunch hours. Due to our time constraints we decided to eat at the club for lunch which turned out to be a great choice. The buffet was $ 10 a meal and was all you can eat. They constantly refilled the food, not to have anything run out, and the tables, décor, and people were great. This would be a nice place to eat everyday, and i would definitely recommend the warrior room for those that are having conferences. Maybe we will be back in March?!

Working on base this summer, I had the opportunity to dine at the Pacific Coast Club multiple times. From what I remember, the buffet costs $ 10 per person(not bad for any type of buffet). The menu also changes based on the day of the week. I had the pleasure of my coworkers treating me out to Mexican day, Seafood day, and Chicken & Ribs day. My favorite day, thus far, has to be Seafood day so I will primarily elaborate on this experience: D. Basically on Seafood day, there’s virtually five different types of fish and various delightful fried food(crab cakes and butterfly shrimp). Also, they prepare a delicious clam chowder, which I used as a dip for all the fried goodies. Overal impression, decent food for a cheap price; sounds like a 3.5 star to me!

The Pacific Coast Club is a dining and entertainment facility within Vandenberg Air Force Base in Santa Barbara County, California, which is about 200 miles driving distance from Los Angeles. As a civilian visiting inside the military base on official business, the only service I often avail here is the Dining Room, which features meal selections from their menu. However, since I’m always pressed for time, I usually choose their all-you-can-eat lunch buffet, featuring hot entrees, soup and dessert. There’s also a salad bar, but since I’m anti-vegetarian, perhaps I shouldn’t have even mentioned it at all. The price is obviously subsidized because the delighful meal cost only $ 9.00 and they didn’t even charge sales tax. Adjacent to the Dining Room on a separate patio entrance, there’s also a Starbucks coffee shop, but they close early in the afternoon. I’ll be going to VAFB again next month, so I already knew where to have lunch within the base, rather than take a 20 mile drive to the city of Santa Maria.
